I hope in TES6 they let you join the mage guild without actually knowing magic, but it's actually diegetic. Like as part of the questline, if you only use spell scrolls, your tutor notices and asks you what's up, then helps you hide it from the others. Then you bullshit your way through and have to come up with increasingly ballsy ways to pretend you can cast spells while you actually just do it with scrolls or other tricks. Same concept for the fighters guild, it should let you branch the questline into a path where you just lie, steal and bullshit and can't actually fight. And in the thieves guild you just end up being a "thief" nobody wants to work with because you always end up beating the shit out of everyone instead
