I know the series loves cards but I feel it was a missed opportunity to not use pins as a source of power in a game. KHX uses cards, UX uses medals, and ML used "pieces", which are just figurines. Pins are a long tradition with Disney, and you could use them to customize your player character by pinning them on hats/shirts/shoes/etc.

Now that the dust has settled... why did the keyblade return to Sora once he gave the wholesome chungus friendship speech? Villainous characters can become keyblade wielders just fine, and the keyblade never rejects them in the way Kingdom Key did Riku.

Because while the gameplay itself is good, the plot is fucking terrible and anticlimactic, it's full of filler and padding, the levels themselves are quite literally hallways, and before KH2FM the main villains were barely in the game, and it had the KH3 problem where it was so easy you could beat the game with your eyes closed.
