It's the definitive version of Ys 1 and 2 because it combines them into one complete experience and is true to the original version of each game without as much streamlining as the later remake. Having finished all three Ys IV games, I posted my takes on my preferred order of quality, including my consistent take on Memories of Celceta being nu-Falcom's second worst game after Tokyo Xanadu. I also addressed the peculiar nature of Memories of Celceta strangely having less fanservice and callbacks than the other version, which is what Falcom is known for. CS3 was the buggiest game for me but I didn't have that. There are a couple of bugs that happened in a couple of playthroughs in the same places though. Played on PS4.
Chapter 2 spoilers: The game crashed on the train to Crossbell at the start of the field study. Still able to get past it by reloading though I might have taken multiple on one ocasion.
Chapter 3 spoilers: During that sequence when you're riding the motorbike to Juno I've gotten stuck twice, might have been a turbo thing. You're stuck inbetween some walls in Raquel after probably clipping through some of the geometry of the town.

I'm playing CS3 right now and the history books on the 100 Days War clearly mention that, although none were prepared for Erebonia's preemptive strike and could send aid to Liberl, as soon as Cassius' counter-force was established and reclaimed most of Liberl's check-points, there were allied forces (Calvard among others) ready to intervene in the war. Only Erebonia's proposal of peace averted their involvement.
