Just finished the new Teresse glupy chapters and honestly it's the worst ones so far out of the 4 characters who got an Epilogue. Compared to Nebris/Loen/Moph the way Teresse and Master interact doesn't feel like they've been in a relationship for 1 year and the lack of proper conflict make these chapters feel vapid and useless. They we're obviously going down the path of shipping but wanted to do slow burn thing, where the romances start as friendships but develop eventually into actually relationships. However, I think around SP11/12 that shipping was dead internally but they didn't have the guts to commit to saying that which lead to the meandering relationships we've had since then. I don't think that the new season will have this baggage so I think relationships will develop faster. Also there is the fact that the main story in season 1 is extremely nihilistic. Every defeat is catastrophic while every victory is short-lived, meaningless, or bittersweet. This lead to very little time to actually work on relationships in the first place. The season 2 story is supposed to be less grimdark and actually have some victories feel meaningful so hopefully this should remedy that.
