If a character consistently receives complaints and criticisms, even if they're loved by a majority of the fanbase of the game, I won't include them, which is why the list is so short. The whole point is to only include characters that are universally loved and pretty much never get negative feedback. Morrigan getting angry at all the nice stuff that most players do in Redcliffe (among others) really did make some players dislike her and it's been a consistent complaint over the years leveled at the character.

Dragon Age is generally a subversion of regular fantasy tropes though so they more emphasized the Dwarven political structure, trading economy and caste system than anything else. Still couldn't escape the classic of having them being a dying species fighting virtually alone against the things in the darkness, though.
