>WHAT IS HELLDIVERS 2?
HELLDIVERS 2 is a 2024 crossplay, co-op, squad-based, PvE 3rd person shooter for PC, PS5 and XBox Series X/S where players fight against hordes of alien insects, robots and squids to Spread Democracy™. Players wage war on contested planets, each with a different biome, completing as many objectives as possible in a procedurally generated level while constrained by a time limit. With enough successful missions, a planet can be defended or liberated, and the player base must combine their efforts as much as possible to Liberate™ the galaxy.

>WHAT ABOUT THE FIRST HELLDIVERS GAME?
Released in 2015 for PC, PS3/4 and PS Vita, the original HELLDIVERS is a shared screen top-down shooter in the same setting. Its mechanics were based primarily on Arrowhead's first game, Magicka.

Helldivers 2 has always given me the vibe ever since a couple months after launch that it's children pretending the game is hard, that there's meta, that there's strategy, when the game is piss easy

>>557038728
The voteless are so fucking terrible. Just replace them with the smaller shielded tripods and make this zombie shit a subfaction. And give the overseers shields instead of the peeling armor mechanic goddamn they're afraid to actually implement the illuminates unique mechanics.
>>
>>557038847
To shield hellbombs for important objectives like gunship fabricators. NOTE: Make sure to line your timing up so that you toss the hellbomb before the shield. Wait a few seconds and line it up so that the shield drops down as soon as the hellbomb starts to pop out, that way your shield offers maximum protection as opposed to being damaged by the hellbomb if you toss the shield and it activates first.
Also, when I see a teammate toss a shield to fight a bot drop, I try to toss mine outside the first shield in the direction away from the bot drop (putting the first shield between the bot drop and mine). The first shield shields the second, and when it's overrun or popped the second one is right there to fall back too.

i held out for a very long time but the supply backpack really is the best backpack in the game that its worth giving up an entire strategem slot just to have it. backpack support weapons arent worth using, mobility ones are competitive but not as strong. Cyberstan broke me into a supply crutch user

Overall? Sure I could perhaps pay that, but the worst part about it is that most 'bonds have 1-2 interesting things. If you want to experience all the cool stuff this game has to offer at this stage you're either grinding for ages or forking out $$$. They need to be less stingy with sc.
>>
>>557040626
Me and friend run the boomer load-out from the first game. He runs RR and supply backpack I run RR backpack and MG, then do assisted reload. The only thing I don't like with assisted reload is the jank if you stand on a 3 degree incline, and it refuses to fucking load the RR
>>

That makes sense, I hadn't considered that angle.
A lot of the appeal to me about Helldivers 2 was that there weren't any humans to fight, there's enough of that in other games and it was a nice change of pace (nevermind dissidents executed offscreen, or all the Helldivers 1 I played).

This is 50 days of playtime btw. But that would assume playing all 24 hours. Another way to think of it would be 100 days, 12 hour shifts of helldivers. Normies don't do this, surprisingly enough.

If I was AH I would just make it so you get SC for completing objectives. Why make it random? Shit is retarded.
Even if it was for completing objectives, you'd still get way less than the current method of farming and quitting. Plus it would reward good players (who already have 1200 hours and every warbond and know how to farm) but then normgroid players could actually get more than like 2 of the 15 warbonds.
+ make it like if you clear a whole map you get 20 SC so you're rewarded for being better.
>>

Yes I think watching the explosions send my diver flailing through the air is fun and adds to my perception of their danger.
It would definitely be easier without ragdolling, of course.
I think it's positive overall. Could be improved with some lighter falls being more controlled instead of your diver just going limp, but definitely not removed.
Honestly they're such an integral part of the game for me that I never would have considered an idea of not having them. Your divers being subject to the game physics grounds them and adds to the faux milsim vibe the swedes are going for.
>>
>>557042336
Normgroids are the ones that keep them in business lol, why would they give them anything free and easily? People who play alot get everything free because they have the hours, poors get everything for free because they will never pay anyway so they have the farm option, normies gotta pay up to keep the lights on.

Ragdolls are genuinely fine, and fun. The only issue that still persists with them is physics jank killing people.
Better put: ragdolls are fun when you live, but feel like SHIT when you die, especially to an extended ragdoll.
If they wanted to make it better they should give you like 80% explosion and physics damage resist during a ragdoll - which I'm pretty sure they did because a while back the jank ragdoll deaths just stopped happening to me and these days I survive getting launched into walls that would have killed me 2x over last year.

When I know stealth is off the table I run democracy protects so even when ragdolling gets super crazy I can still have that 50/50 I live. It unironically perfects the mechanic.

The leveller should have 2 shots and be reloadable. It should be a support weapon version of the ultimatum with slightly longer range with a longer cooldown. No backpack. That's all it needs.

Ragdolls while sometimes annoying can also be very funny even if something bad happens as a result which helps alleviate the frustrating parts. If there were some other kind of CC that wasn't as occasionally amusing, it would be just be frustrating every time and lead to a worse overall experience. Even with their negatives, I'd rather keep them than gamble on a potential different kind of CC.

Just saying only my 500 hour friends actually farm. None of my normgroid friends, even ones who play the game a decent bit, have bought anything and they just bite the bullet of having 1-2 warbonds, even now.
IMO if they let SC be more attainable through objective means - as opposed to luck - it would increase player investment in those fair-weather types. Those friends of mine LOCK IN when they have a warbond and are earning medals to unlock something, but otherwise don't really care about anything because there's no other progression in the game.

Psychologically speaking, generosity actually increases the liklihood that people buy because they feel they're getting a good deal. Stinginess has the opposite effect, because people (whites anyway, the prime demographic) are reciprocal. This is why even super jewy games with battlepasses still give you free rewards.

What's there not to believe? They wanted to secede from Super Earth and live in their robo socialist state. This was originally begrudgingly allowed by SE.
The war was sparked because of a terrorist bomb attack carried out by a "cybernetically enhanced individual". Anybody who questioned the narrative got killed or dissapeared in typical SE fashion.
It's not exactly nuanced storytelling.

Ragdolling is a teaching method to players to discourage them from behaviors that lead to ragdolling without outright killing them and having the player waiting for a respawn. I view ragdolling as a mini-respawn/downed state similar to how divers could get downed and then helped back up by teammates in the first game.
In theory, like in the first game, you would see a teammate get "downed" by a ragdoll, and then maneuver to protect them/stim while they recover.
In practice, this doesn't work because of egregious desync making it so that players warp all over the place in perspective to each other when they do get bonked about by ragdolling physics attacks. And even my second point of ragdolling as a mini-respawn I'll go ahead and shoot myself in the foot by saying it seems kind of redundant with how low respawn time is anyways (teammates not noticing if you're dead or not aside).
I feel like the game would lose a lot of it's, "Playing as a background mook without plot armor," identity if ragdolling were removed. Ragdolling is still frustrating, rage inducing even. But I wouldn't want it gone, or toned down. The first alternative to ragdolling I can think of is just changing that attack to something that just kills the player, and then giving everyone infinite respawns like in the first game, and the failstate being a squadwipe instead of having a reinforcement budget.

>>557043384
90% of the content HD2 releases is warbond content. Sometimes new enemies or biomes, but mostly it's warbonds.
Comparatively a lot of other games I can think of release content in such a way that it's all accessible to everyone. New gun(s) released? New characters? They're in the game. Equip them or play with them or whatever. Yes, for those games it'll be superfluous cosmetics that cost money and they'll be more stingy with their currency than SC farming is... but that's just cosmetic stuff.

So you can say they're more generous with their currency than other games - technically true - but many games are more generous with what they give you for free vs ask you to buy. The hurdle is just in a different spot for HD2, and honestly they wouldn't have been able to make it work any stingier than it is because it is a hastily made, slowly/lazily/swiggerly developed, pve game. Bear in mind it's not even a f2p game, which many games with seemingly more aggressive monetization are, for that reason.

I'm a fucking 900 hour chud so I'm fine. I'm just saying for my friends I play with it'd be cool if we didn't have to schedule an hour farming session every now and again for them to unlock new guns. It could still be slow enough people would spend real money to skip it, but it's currently stingy enough I notice (anecdotally) people don't even feel invested enough to buy SC.
P.S. fucking gambling/poker sites give you free chips to play with daily. It's called getting players invested and yes it does increase retention and spending.

We do that, but people die too often and lose their shit enough that trading strats can be obnoxious, much less trading weapons. Again, we're talking moderate skill level players not /hdg/GODS.
Plus a lot of stuff in warbonds that allows for variety in loadouts are side shit like grenades (gas, thermies) and sidearms (ultimatum, senator). Things like NEATs for example are fun but so annoying to constantly need to be right next to another person to drop for them it becomes too inconvenient to actually use.

The vox is fine desu, they just have inflated numbers. If anything they should be stronger, but rarer. NTA, but it's not just aesthetics. There's a sense of camraderie in everybody wearing the colors of the organisation you're all part of. Spray painting the armors so only I see the right colors just isn't the same.

It seems that AH intended for players to outmaneuver it, blast its rear vents, then throw a grenade into the hatch that opens up (I think there's two of them?). Or at least, that's the 'efficient' option.
As for how doable that is when there's several of them flinching and ragdolling you + all the other bots/borgs, who knows, I haven't managed it yet. Personally, I've never seen anyone other than myself even bother to target the vents.
>>557047806
Leveller does kill them I think, but you have to aim at the lower portion of their torso. Don't bother with the head, it has more health than the actual vox engine itself

It's not just powercreep. More enemies were introduced, some were buffed, along with more environments that required better weapons. It turned outdated. Try using it against Predators or Rupture strain and see how well it works out. It just doesn't. Try using it in caves, and Hive Guard spam will filter you and you'll probably not use your primary much at all. It has also never worked well against bots.

Just host tank lobbies here. We generally don't do "friends" around here. Goes against the whole anonymous vibe we like.
I've played with full tank crews where everyone has a bastion so we had close to 100% tank uptime and immediately hop into a new one when the previous gets destroyed. Would highly recommend it.

Squidsisters, we're getting our own dedicated update this time next year, or maybe even better, in six months right?

It can't be too much strain on the developers to implement the new Cyborg effects to the Overseers right? The engine can totally handle this, couldn't it?

The key mistake was giving Helldivers anything but yellow and black. Take any armour set and give it a traditional Helldiver paintjob and suddenly it fits right in. But alas, Arrowhead was too tempted by the chance to include pop-culture and so desperate to get their message across that we're the bad guys that they included sci-fi nazi shit and haven't included yellow and black since release.

With the silo and Leveler you need like one more AT thing to finish them off. I usually do it with an ultimatum, but a quasar shot or C4 works. Not sure exactly what stuff does and doesn't work of the last hit, did it with grenade launcher spam after a silo once but not sure if it was further weakend first. Also the portable hell bomb is great cause it kills them plus the 100 other bots and possibly a second one around him. Also while I'm ranting, if you're struggling you might want to considering using stealth a bit when it's viable. Just fucking off from an objective to do a diffrent one when it get's hot often is a good way to deal with a seemingly unbeatable horde of angry bots.

C4 is great, especially on Hulk surges, it has a big AOE that can take out several at once. It's also great for stealth, of course.
The stealth armors are really good, I sprinted within only some 15 meters in front of a War Strider and it didn't spot me.
The silent marksman rifle is also great for stealth purposes, and not much else. The AR is whatever.
>>
In a vacuum, Vox Engines are not that bad. They're not as punishing as Hive Lords, for sure, and they do have an obvious (if difficult to hit) weak spot for a quick kill. A single helldiver with the right loadout can easily solo them. With good cover and the right positioning, I can (and have) solo two of them at once.
But four or more of them at once is just bullshit. I cannot believe that their spawn rate is intended to be this high.
>>
c4 either should have been a grenade, or had at minimum twice the carrying capacity.

In terms of money/time it's actually cheaper for me to just buy them, but there are so many warbonds now I could buy a whole new game.
More hardcore players are oblivous to this because they're always ahead on currencies.
I get that devs don't work for free but it's getting a bit ridiculous.
>>
What pisses me off about the voxnigger is it goes against the design philosophy the game has established.
Normally an enemy is the sum of its parts.
Factory Strider can have its turret blown out. It's chin-guns removed etc.
A Bile Titan can have it's underbelly torn to shreds (I say) and it can no longer vomit.

Dragonroach also broke this philosophy being able to completely ignore wing-damage and just fly around as if nothing was amiss. They fixed that (took their sweet time of course).

Now we have Voxfaggots where you can't blow out their side-guns. Only their peashooters on the lower chassis are destructible.
It also baits (you) same as the War Strider with glowy bits that is normally the tell-tale sign that you should shoot here. Yet in reality it is actually the tankiest part.

Another poorly designed enemy and before you start screeching at me. Notice that I haven't complained at all about its attack-pattern or ragdoll-galore, because that wouldn't be a problem if it was just adhering to the rules of the game in the first place.

>I hate how much these devs got their dicks sucked by nolife thirdies over 'muh super generous farmable premium currency' shit
It's so strange seeing most players be fine with paying 40 bucks upfront, full price for a AA game like HD2, and then being nickled and dimed for every scrap of content and defending that.
The whole shit about SC reminds me of how your average shitty p2w game always lets you farm the premium currency at a painfully slow rate, just so fanboys can defend it and pretend it isn't p2w. HD2 gets praise for just being a bit less painful.
>>
>>557050880
They don't playtest past diff 5 and vox engines don't spawn there

I probably should give orbital smoke a try. One method we've found is having someone wearing the stealth amore getting close enough to trigger it raising while hiding, then running in to kill everything with hell bombs, laser beam, solo missiles. Probably is you can't always get away for hiding the whole bar.

Fucking awful. Pubbies are complete retards, and Cyberstan punishes retard behavior. Many of them will ignore the main objective in favor of doing side objectives or blowing up outposts. They also tend to run away from the group and decide to play Rambo, which almost always gets them killed when a Vox Engine spawns on top of them.
I can usually carry a couple of retards through D10, but that's not possible on Cyberstan. Every player has to shoulder their own weight and work as a team here, which is virtually impossible for pubbies.

OG cyborgs took to augmentation to both survive Cyberstan's harsh climate and to meet the extremely high tithes the SE government forced them to meet. They rebelled essentially over a tax dispute, the terrorism stuff was a false-flag by Super Earth to justify extreme violence. When they were defeated they were fully enslaved in the mines of Cyberstan, and apparently their entire bloodline was considered undemocratic because 100 years later their children were still working jn the concentration camps. Hence they created Vessel 00 to secretly carry the first Automatons far away in the hope (that came true) that they would one day return in force to liberate them.

I have a feeling that the Vox engine was heavily rushed out. They're buggy as fuck and look like incomplete shit.
Feels like they were planning on making some sort of GunTank but deadlines got to em so they ditched the the head, came up with some lame ass barrel and put a cyborg in it, and then ditch the arms and just slapped 2 Factory Strider cannons on the arm slots.
Which made them look goofy and retarded as fuck, and then they also tweaked a few stats and jacked up their HP to fucking 8000 and then called it a day. Also slapped 2 factory strider gatlings to the side but they forgot to crank the HP of those thing to the thousands.

With the busywork needed to kill one, those things have no business spawning 3 at a time and have another one spawn out of thin air. I'm not even having fun anymore.

Vox engines are a great idea, but a terrible implementation.
The fact that they can just decide they took no damage from your silo or leveler combined with the fact that doing their vent minigame is essentially impossible if there are 3 or more means it's really easy to get overrun, and once you're overrun: it's nearly impossible to recover.

I think this is the first time I have had very significant fun with the game since predator strain introduction, and then the introduction of the Illuminate faction before that.

I think adding new enemies that legitimately make the game more difficult along with a biome is the real lifeblood of the game more than anything else, but it has to be significant. It can't just be one enemy added. Yeah, Illuminate proved to be easy fast, but it was fun figuring them out as a faction for the first few days.

I actually thought the super earth invasion was boring because the only interesting enemy they added was the plane that does a fire run on you. The rest was kinda bleh. I didnt think the super cities were meaningfully different with what came before either.

This feels like old Helldivers again.

I want my pub team to use all the reinforcements. I want bullets flying everywhere while I am surrounded.

They definitely work against Hulks, I brought them to a few Hulkamania missions and they were mostly fine.

The problem is that you need some advance warning to a Vox Engine's approach to set up the minefield, there's no guarantee it will run into the minefield, and there's nothing stopping it from just plastering you at range without even needing to approach the minefield.
>>
>>557056638
It would be neat to have some sort of "lag" system, that would take a minute to catch up with spikes, but I think they'd have to add the opposite, like when the player base returns to normal for the first bit of that is going to be brutal.
>>
>>557058026
>wish our enemies in HD2 were bad guys too
The bugs are inherently evil, they destroy the ecosystem of entire planets.
The Illuminate lost their claim of being misunderstood good guys when they started to abduct innocent civilians and turned them into brainwashed cannon fodder at best or hideous abominations at worst.
Even the "peace-loving, just want to be left alone, dindu nuffin" Automatons/Cyborgs are executing civilians and captured SEAF troopers. They mutilate bodies and stick human skulls on poles as decorations. They are no better than Super Earth, maybe even worse; we didn't exterminate the cyborgs when we captured Cyberstan in the first war.
>>
>>557058534
I am familiar with the fact that the book is very different. I read a lot of sci fi actually.

The Cyborgs sent a clear message of leave us alone, we just dont want to be enslaved, so it is hard to see how they are in anyway bad guys.

>>557059006
Yeah that sounds bugged or something. It normally takes one silo or lever + one pretty much any AT to finish them.

The bots butcher and grind people into a pulp to fuel themselves.
Bugs completely terraform planets into a disgusting resin hive and you can find SEAF and human bodies strung up in webbing or dead in piles around certain nests.
Squids literally mind control and turn them into grotesque mutant zombies or massive multi-body fleshmobs.
Do you need to see them kicking a puppy or something to get the point across that they're evil?

There was a shitton of SC on Oshaune
I don't even think it's arrowhead being malicious, they're just retarded and don't know what they're doing
>>
Sickle and Autocannon have been massively marginalized via powercreep. I used to really like those weapons near launch, but they feel useless now.
>>
>>557046029
I hate the black and yellow color scheme so aesthetically the warbonds have been nothing but a step up. Most of the armors in this game where the Swedes try to be "original" look fuck ugly.
>>
>>557056996
Me last night when the game put the fucking extract in a crater in the middle of the fucking pavement.

Oh boy was it fun having five different patrols of bots converging and shooting right into the crater with bot drops consistently happening non-stop for two minutes straight and red grenades flying into the pit. Everyone used their orbital lasers and it barely put a dent in the bullshit. We all died.
>>
>>557039502
They use the SC for the economy. The Automaton dollar is near worthless these days.
>>
>>557059440
This. I tried using autocannon last night and it just felt like a wet noodle. I'd rather stick with the grenade launcher if I want lots of booms now that it's heavy pen.
>>

Fuck yes Arrowhead please. I want hounds. The bots now have Overseers from squids why not a little bit of predator strain too.

Giving the GL the same penetration as the AC, HMG and AMR was a mistake

>>
>>557059440
It's not power creep. They just keep boosting the armor on enemies for no reason at all.

Trident is better on Cyberstan just because you constantly have shit in your face and enemies spawn on you. Sickle is better for planets with open terrain. Autocannon is still good but not for planets like this with a high density of enemies and constant combat.

Right now, I'm running laser, Leveler, Backpack grenade launcher, and either a sentry/arty/airstrike and a Trident for a main. And yet there are times I wish I could use something else because of the constant gunships that keep appearing.
>>
>>557059840
Worst part of the airburst is that it was literally advertised as shredding the shriekers when they first came out too. Everyone thought it was gonna be a great match. JK Alexus is fucking trash.
>>

D10 Bots on Cyberstan
>>
I like the Trident, but I just feel like Scorcher has been slept on for bots for a while.
>>
>>557060031
I feel like the GL is probably a good gunship answer, but for the life of me I can't seem to hit the damn things with it.
>>
>>557059440
Autocannon deserves a buff. AP rounds should be AP4, and flak rounds should be AP3 so that they can actually damage gunships. Also wouldn't hurt to increase the ammo capacity and maybe add ~25% more damage. Then people would use it more.
I don't know what you could do for the Sickle since the Dickle now exists. No reason to take the former over the latter.
>>
>>557058787
I do enjoy the difficulty spike, feels like a proper D-Day. We love larping here normgroid
>>
>>557060208
Scorcher is very reliable but the ammo is horrible.
>>
>>557059739
It swapped places with the GL for fodder clearing. Flak is great against anything without heavy armor, often one hits a devastator if you aim at their chest, strips the armor off an overseer in two shots while also shredding the voteless behind him, and mulches alpha commanders and their summoned chaff.
>>
>>557060148
Enemies are getting thicker armor but the weapons are the same power. There's not really anything that sucks dick except maybe that medium pen bolt action rifle absolutely no one uses.

>>
>>557060341

>>
>>557060216
I've been having to hit their engines with my Talon because bringing a Javelin to these missions is a total waste of time. You won't have the ammo or time to consistently rearm that thing unless someone is wearing a supply backpack.
>>
>>557060312
>doesn't address my point at all
>randomly brings up larping
Yeah, you seem like the kind of dumb faggot I'm talking about
>>
>>557060148
At launch you could kill every single bot enemy with medium pen from the front except for the tank which spawned in low enough numbers to be manageable. But then War Striders were added and Autocannon was no longer viable as an effective all rounder. If they spawned in numbers closer to tanks than hulks, or if they had actual medium weakspots, then Autocannon would make a return. However with each update bots continue to require more hard AT checks

Sickle is still good against bots though, there are just a ton of other good guns. Sickle just used to be the least shit primary before it was nerfed, then everything was buffed and now its a solid B-tier weapon.
>>
>>557060413
Bots specifically. Even chaff units are resisting being one-shot by Tridents now unless you beam them from a few meters away
>>
>>557060468
What point, that you're a faggy redditor who likes to cry all the time? I enjoy the extreme difficulty, if its too much for me I'll lower it to D9 or D8 until they inevitably reduce the Vox Engine spawn rates. So many normgroids live in an eternal present, its just funny to me.

It's still the godliest anti-bot weapon to grace the Earth. It's probably still great on Cyberstan because Cyborgs are stupidly weak to explosives and you could probably kill one with a charged shot.
>>
>>557060604
I think the AC is pretty decent against War Striders going for the hip joints. Reinforced Scout Striders are easy as well. Some other thing that contributed to the AC's fall was it's utility being devalued. Fabricators are piss easy to destroy now with a myriad of tools.

I know I'll get chewed out for this post but, as someone who isn't real good at video games overall I've found the following helped me with D10 Cyberstan
Personal Shield Backpack with Shield Grenades.
At least one stratagem for Smokes (they really do help), Personal Silo/Hellbomb Pack, and then the Orbital Laser
The new silent sniper rifle (forget its name, think Censor maybe?) with the Hellbomb Sidearm

The trick is to drop the smoke between you and a Vox Engine or ontop of the engine to more easily shoot its vents; make sure you keep your eyes on your radar and pre-drop smokes on patrols or large grouping of enemies to help your teammates
I also honestly believe the Drop Pod Smoke is incredible, especially when you play with randoms as much as me, this may sound like stupid logic but doing random D10 on Cyberstan you should already assume you'll run out of lives rather quickly so dropping literal meat shields in front of you creates the following - a distraction, a smoke grenade-like area to breath, reposition to better areas

For armors I'd actually go with one of the Democracy Protects armors (I swear their perk is proccing way more than it ever did outside Cyberstan) or the medium Stealth Armor because Cyborgs like to run and reposition but with the Stealth Armor, maybe seven out of ten times when they run away to reposition they deagro due to the stealth armors perks

The problem with going all defensive is that you become a slave to the loadouts of your teammates when it comes to a tsunami of heavy armor. This is why everyman Jack of all trades loadouts exist, because good players can't rely on the team to do the most basic shit.

Every time I entertain not taking direct-fire AT on bots, I'm inundated with lobbies completely incapable of shooting down gunships. It doesn't bother me, I'm a stealthfag so the gunships don't even see me, but I'll watch that thing eat away our reinforcements because the three stooges on the other side of the map can't shoot it down.

remarkable anti-chaff if you can throw decently

incredibly powerful anti-heavy if you can throw perfectly. the sparks are ap6 and can kill harvesters, striders, hulks, etc

it's a high skill ceiling weapon that's also just relatively serviceable for throwing into crowds to farm kills

normally, yes, but it takes far longer to do them, especially on Cyberstan. Lots more spawns to deal with and the distance between targets is further. A good team could churn out Cyberstan D4s pretty fast, but not as fast as a solo run D1 anywhere else.

Are Vox Engines on hulk spawns tickets or something? I've had an extraction just now where they spawned 4 in front of us out of thin air, and then the bot drop slapped 3 more right on top of the beacon.
I don't know what kind of zany wacky ticket system swiggers use for the unit spawn, but they have to rebalance this shit either way. It's like we're back to the y1 time where they fucked up terminids' heavy spawns and the only winning move was to just run away and avoid the enemy.
Shit sucks with how both tanky and damaging the new Vox Engines are.
Cyborg enemies are 10/10 tho
>>
>>557064579
Cyberstan's AA envelope appears to be really small though. You go two blocks away and the AA no longer works and can strafe all you want.

I adjusted just by using orbital gatling, which you can call down once a minute. It's pretty much the "No, you're not going to creep up on me actually" strat.
>>
>>557061580
The bugs are repeatedly called "fascist", so the implication is that there is a leader.
>>
Are AT mines any good against Vox niggers?
>>
>>557064841
From what I understand there is a set number of Heavies that can spawn. Each heavy takes a number of points, Hulks < War Striders < Tanks < Factory Striders
It seems the Vox Engines are clogging up so many heavy slots that the only other heavy I see is the occasional hulk.
>>
Okay I had a chance to try out Cyberstan.
Vox engines are OK until there's three or more of them. Two with a swarm of other enemies behind them is also ass, but kinda tolerable. I do wish AH fixed the one-way corpse cover bug, though. It isn't fun to create a gigantic cover for the enemies that they don't give a fuck about and can shoot through whenever you kill a vox.
War striders still take the worst enemy award. They take way too fucking many HMG shots into the ass vent to die. They also form a very nasty anti-everything "combo" with the Vox engines: AT that kills striders does almost jack shit against the engines. Also you want thermites for the striders, but thermites can't kill Vox assholes.

Cybestan terrain and missions are OK. I just wish they didn't spawn the enemies so close to you.
Also, take orbital gatling.
>>
>>557064902
they dont even work against hulks nigger
>>
>>557064902
Just use Levelers on them.

The only thing I hate about Voxes is that they look like mechanized dildos made for your mom.
>>
>>557064579
The inability to just Eagle 500kg a problematic area or an objective structure has got me falling back on OPS.
>>
>>557061580
Yeah, it's a constant propaganda line that any time they do anything intelligent seeming its just an accident and they are stupid animals. In the first game they signed a formal treaty with the Illuminate and Cyborgs
>>
>>557045254
Gas grenade is in my opinion best in slot versus both bugs and squids. It's my default against those factions and unless I'm going for variety, I don't have a lot of reason to take other grenades. The gas backpack is also a very nice shitter crutch against bugs like predator and rupture strain. The fact that you can dodge a charger/flesh mob and your little bot will completely immobilize it is insanely powerful.
>>
>>557064984
>I do wish AH fixed the one-way corpse cover bug, though. It isn't fun to create a gigantic cover for the enemies that they don't give a fuck about and can shoot through

>Cybestan terrain
cucks strat placement because sweden thinks it's funnier to let strats bounce to completely random areas or roll on the ground getting nothing accomplished

all orbitals suck because they have to reposition even in open space and will fire at an angle killing nothing because of all the walls and buildings, I stopped taking orbital gatling and took solo silo instead

small aoe orbitals and eagle are powercreeped too, strafing run, rocket pods or 500mg cant deal with heavies, neither can gattling and airburst. only one semi good one is eas and ops, the meta from fucking launch day.
The only truly good strats on bots are turrets, even bombardements are meme tier for base clearing

The LC's problem is and has always been low DPS. You get overrun with it where other weapons would be fine. Also, while it has "infinite" ammo, the magazine is quite small so you can only kill a few enemies before either reloading or letting it cool down.

>>
>>557067762
60 day patch and heavy rework happened.
AH buffed the damage of all anti-tank weapons. For the OPS and 500kg, they only buffed the direct impact damage. So, they do jack shit to heavies unless the projectile itself hits.
OPS is just kinda useless now and 500kg is chaff and structure clear.

Honestly I've seen the same thing with the proc as well. I also heard some vague rumor that some Chinamen are using DP-00 with the Botslayer cape from the Cutting Edge warbond which makes it proc even more. That is probably a placebo and wishful thinking though, or maybe Chink trickery. It may need more testing.
>>
>>557068378
commando missions kinda suck imo but stealth armor + silenced guns work quite well for regular missions as just a way to cut down on being spotted from half a map away and having half the map aggro you when you kill 1 bot. you dont have to go full stealth, you can just rely on it when its handy

You know, for the popularity of the bugs, and the story importance of squids, I feel like bots are the iconic HD2 enemy faction. Most of the homegrown memes revolve around them. D9 launch bot invasion, Malevelon Creek, ragdolls, stratagem jammer, now this.
>>
So which support weapons are good against war striders?

>>
>>557068204
HMG has enough ammo to kill 7 war striders by shooting their legs (large target that can be reliably hit from any range). RR can kill 6.
So many people in this general are held back by retarded ammo anxiety.
>>
Okay, I tried D7 and D8 and I think I'm going to stick to that for the rest of the operation. It's seriously just so much better balanced and more fun. There's a shit-ton more Cyborgs instead of just regular old Hulks and Vox engines.
>>
>>557067926
The anti-cheat does nothing but crash the game when it detects tampering and even then it's not that hard to bypass. I know it sounds surreal, you'd think snoy of all companies would be anal about potential lost profits, I didn't believe it either at first when I started the game, but it is how it is.
>>
>>557067845
They should either lower the spawn rate or make them easier to kill. In their current state, they are just unfun to fight.

i think arrowhead is now admitting that the gameplay only really works well on bot missions and that the other fronts are just dumb minigames in comparison. like even on a pure satisfaction level its much more fun to dismantle bots and blow them up than it is to gib bugs. and dont get me even started on how much of a bother it is to fight overseers. and fleshmobs are a good enemy in concept (big unarmored enemy that adds a use case for the shitty machineguns) but theyre just not fun to fight

Actually really solid. Redacted Regiment took stealth from a complete garbage meme to a completely valid way to play against bots and squids. Albeit with squids you have to go full non-confrontation, because the Overseers not having insta-kill weakpoints for light pen weapons means you just alert them if you try to take them out.

Because bugs are the brainless easy mode faction that is hard countered by the W key. It's gamerdads favorite. When AH tried to make them harder with predditors and hive worlds bugfags got mad and demanded nerfs instantly.
>>
I havent played squids in so long I forgot they introduced council members as an enemy. I defend that faction too.

Squids dont really have any units that can do shit to you once you figure them out, we dont have any of the unique units like the Illusionists from the first game and bugs are solved by simply running away from them. I barely notice the eye weakspot, most of the time you're going to be fighting it and a bunch of other enemies so you don't really have time to line up your shots. When it does a grenade barrage, the smoke takes a few seconds to clear and by the time it did it's already sending another one. It also moves a lot and pretty quickly, making it hard to track the tiny shitty hitbox.
Is this a skill issue? I know it's only a 3 shot kill but when I try to take one down with the AMR or AC it always takes at least a mag.
>>
>>557069337
You mean the guy that cherry picked a single, unalerted war strider to shoot at like 10m and still missed the eye like twice?

Hellbomb can kill 5+ voxes at once btw if they're close together. C4 can kill 2 per resupply box in 5 seconds from 50m away.
Unlike war striders (STILL btw) that require bullshit heavy pen thermite crutches, vox's actually have lightpen weakpoints that with a grenade you can kill them in 3 seconds with. (I am aware it's hard with 2+ of them but that's what the AoE shit is for)

>>557072668
Jeet brigade must die.
>>
>>557071613
It is difficult, through arbitrary bullshit (pump number up) instead of engaging mechanics and enemy variety.
I have no issue with a hard enemy, i have an issue with spawning several of them because the devs have run out of ideas on how to make the game difficult and instead rely on making you spend more time shooting at something
You cant run, cyborgs and gunships catch up to you. You cant outrange the enemy because they don't have range limits either. So you have to stand and fight. But the devs don't seem to like that, so they punish you at every chance they get.

I havent seen a tank in several operations because war striders just outright replace them in drops. Tank brigade spawns ? More infantry instead of spamming the toughest enemy ? No, they just make sure you get to fight the hardest enemy in the pool and crank the spawn rates, instead of thinking about doing ANYTHING ELSE.

Cyberstan is an incredibly cool biome, but if you think one shot mechanics and tough enemy spam is fine is either trolling or retarded.

Vox engines shouldnt spawn in pairs or more. They shouldnt be airdropped either. War striders shouldnt replace tanks. mechanics, not numbers. And if you pump number, make sure the low and intermediary tier enemies get the treatment first. Fuck, give us up armored basic automatons that dont die from a stiff breeze if you really want harder enemies. Make the base enemies harder to fight, instead of having to create a new enemy and pump it to bullshit numbers. to make sure the player dies

My rant is unfocused as shit and i hate it, but im tired of retards and bait posters

My only issue with the spawn spam is the enemies clipping into each other. It's mostly so bad because of such a focus on bots where half of the enemies that they're spamming 80% of the time now can ragdoll you per hit.
