The QGD is such a snoozefest.
>what's black's plan in the opening?
Do nothing, sit around, and wait to play c5
>after playing c5 does black get to do something?
Nope, black continues to sit around and do nothing, but now with pressure on white's center
>what if white cracks under the pressure, does black do something now?
lol, wrong again, black needs to continue sitting around doing nothing in a slightly better position
>what about the endgame then, does black do something there?
Huge mistake! If everything went according to plan in the opening and middlegame, black will have achieved his goal of trading down to a dead-drawn rook endgame and can shake hands knowing he played the most sterile chess on the planet.

>>
>>557079546
I'd absolutely play it, Mahjong Soul does pretty well considering it's just a Mahjong client, so does Riichi city, my personal favourite of the two.
This goes to show that a board/card/tile game has the potential to succeed in the gacha space. My only worry would really be devs that are hesitant to ban cheating whales for fear of them not spending any more money on the game. I'm not sure how a company would handle that considering Whales are really what keeps a game like this afloat.
>>
>>557113145
Fair, although I don't know if I'd ever play chess against bots, it's just not as fun when you aren't playing against other human players. It would make sense for your tourney style game, but not for a gacha I think.
>>
800 rated soon to be GM here
I'm getting less than completely clueless at openings and midgame tactics, but I'm really lost at late midgame and endgame.

Any tips or guides for when do I know to stop trying to play the positional game, moving my pieces around and trying to either out-tactics the opponent and checkmate their king, and when to start just pushing pawns?
In most games where I just start pushing queen pawns I usually end up crushing them. But it's hard to tell which ones to push and when.

Also what's a good way to learn endgame? 80% of the games end in checkmates at this rating so it's hard to practice. I'm really bad at playing both sides of the board and pushing one side while trying to stop the opponent from promoting on the other side.
I'm also bad with small scale pawn skirmishes, knowing which pawn to push, how to position my king to break through and not just exchange my pawns and end up with nothing.

Just don't hinge gacha rewards on playing chess. People buy a subscription/pay for individual pulls for girls and high ticket items. Maybe get some small rewards for daily logins, completing certain challenges, etc.
That way you can have a normal chess client with online play versus other people without cheating being incentivized anymore than it all ready is.
>>
>>557115373
Nah, bro just copy the lichess client and the mahjong soul client and slap 'em together and you've got yourself a money printing machine. I'd do it myself but I'm more of an idea guy

I played OTB for the first time in a couple years of strictly playing online. I literally felt blind… like I couldn’t see tactics, it was hard for me to determine my next move and I just couldn’t fully grasp the position. Afterwards on the drive home my brain just felt like it was bent and contorted. It was very weird.
>>

>>557142695
It wasn’t a tournament. I just went to a local club to do a chess assessment to get paired with a coach to help me get to 1500 (currently 1200). I played this coach twice and yeah the games were fun up until my brain just couldn’t calculate. I hung my queen and the next game I didn’t even see a basic fork idea. But yeah I’ll be setting up a physical board a lot more when I train and study. Thanks.

What is the assessment? Do they just play you in a few games and see how you play and tell you what you suck at or is that how you get a provisional rating or something?
Were you already rated, before?

I'm really nervous/excited about it. I wanted to go this Sunday, but my whole family is getting together after my grandpa had a bad checkup and I'll feel really bad if I don't go, so maybe next week :c

Study thousands of master games until you actually know what you’re trying. Start in the 1800s and work your way up to the 1900s and modern era

Unironically play a bunch of correspondence games online. When there is a position you would like to spend more time on, set it up on a physical board and really analyze. In those correspondence games you will have many days to make a move, so for your analysis, feel free to spend 30 minutes or up to an hour looking at the board, studying variations, and taking notes.
>>
>>557227945
Principled chess is boring.

>just play bullet lol
those retards are out of theory by move 3 I'm not 3200 bullet
>>
>>557283597
Depends on your starting point.
Like, I play 1.nf3 in 90% of my games, so I have some ideas already in most positions that can result from the reti gambit, if I want to learn about a new position, recently I've been getting interested in the reverse blumenfeld since I've been seeing it a bit more.

So I found a few (literally 3) master games in the DB that I liked aesthetically. I get a non-annotated PGN so I can't engine cheat and I start going over the game on my board until I feel I have a reasonable grasp.
Then I play some slow games with it, and analyse my own games.
Then I spar with a few people maybe a bit stronger/weaker than me from the starting position.
THEN after I have a reasonable grasp and some ideas I will spam it in ranked rapid.
THEN after I feel that shred of confidence, I find annotated master games or a theoretical resource of some kind and properly study the opening.

For an opening I have no idea about, like the italian, the process is much the same, but probably involves making an alt account, because I am a pussy.
>>
>>557286219
Oh importantly when I say I go over the game, I mean I annotate the master games in a notebook I keep and make assumptions and evaluations about the players moves, unaccepted trades, accepted trades, alt variations, etc...

I think a beginner would have an easier time with the KID if they had some experience in the leningrad dutch, first.

They aren't really the same in any concrete way, but getting used to space imbalances, fianchetto tactics, and black kingside space are a lot easier to pull off when you succesfully and dorectly control the center (despite being objectively bad, and even worse than the KID the dutch does succeed at preventing e4, while the KID assumes you can accurately refute the broad center, which is quite difficult)

I recomend other indian defences to players wanting to play principled, tho...It's much easier for an aggressive player to reel it in and be solid than visa versa.

>>
>>557283597
One thing you can do is play blitz games and then look up the openings afterwards. Whether they're real openings or not it doesn't matter. If they're not real openings it means they're bad, so looking up how to beat them is good as well. Why look up openings that your opponents aren't playing?

e5 anyway

>>
>>557330519
>>557332029
No because 1...nf6 is objectively equal to or better than 1...d5 against every move except 1...g5 because it threatens f6.

Even against e4, which also threatens f6 you could argue the scandi is worse and more passive than the alekhine's, I don't necessarily have strong opinions on that instance, but you could make the argument.

And it doesn't come at the cost of any central control, because you don't stop c4 with d5 anyway, and white can't justify an early c5 unless an error has occured or the position has become sufficiently imbalanced in a middle game.

There is no logical reason anyone should ever play 1...d5 unless they want to be back here complaining about boring losses.
>>
>>557340481
The logical reason is that it's the best. There is a nice line against the London that works specifically because d5 was played instead of Nf6.
>>
>>557341362
That only makes sense if you are going to use the f pawn or claim the knight move loses a tempo, both of which are ludicrous.

Or maybe you are saying the knight belongs on h6 or e7, idk, but I'm highly skeptical of that, too, especially if we are still talking in the context of what a beginner should learn.

This is the line I'm thinking of:
1. d4 d5 2. Bf4 c5 3. e3 Nc6 4. c3 Qb6 5. Qb3 c4 6. Qc2 e5 7. dxe5 Bf5 8. Qc1 g5 9. Bg3 h5 10. h4 g4 11. Ne2 Bg7 12. Nd4 Nge7
There are also lines that end up like a reversed exchange QGD and again the knight goes to e7 and the f6-e5 break is the plan.

But in terms of what a beginner should learn, I think it doesn't matter so much whether they play 1..d5 or 1..Nf6.

you've got exactly zero chance.
There's exactly two scenarios and no others considering who you are

1. Left-wing beta male virgin no woman would ever respect in her life receives regular ordinary social behavior from a female, decides it's flirting when it isn't.

2. Promiscuous commie whore genZ/millenial girl who was raised on swipe-right dating apps and has an onlyfans account has in-grained flirting with almost everyone she has any social interaction with, because she's a whore who already destroyed her pair-bonding ability forever and flirting with left-wing beta male virgins no woman would ever date means they buy her hundreds of dollars of food and presents and twitch subs, and all she has to do is giggle at the ugly chess-playing virgin once or twice and tap his hand lightly once.

Neither can be beneficial for you. If a girl actually really has serious hots for a man and he simply ignores all hints, she'll always get a female friend to go push you into some romantic event with the thirsty girl. You haven't given us even one very basic example of that, which says she's not into you and you need to stick to the chess.

Lol I knew someone would respond this. No, the first one is a cheater too, he just didn’t literally spam Stockfish every single move to make it undeniable for your liddle babby brain.
You need to learn how to analyze games yourself and stop running to the Stockfish post-game accuracy. People like you are exactly the same as the guys under every tweet going GWOK, IS DIS TWUE? You need to be able to tell when someone’s level massively shifts, which requires your own genuine understanding of the game. The fact that you can’t do this is a blessing in disguise and the reason you will always be happy playing online chess, ignorance is bliss.
In the first game I got a big advantage easily because my opponent was weak and had little understanding. Once we converted to the hardest part of a chess game, the endgame, he massively leveled up and outclassed me. This is typical cheat behavior, they don’t cheat the whole game. They have an extension with adjustable strength that they can turn on or off, when they get assmad they turn it on and get revenge for being embarrassed. When it’s on, the extension doesn’t play Stockfish every move, it’s doing its own thing. If you want to see why that doesn’t mean it’s not still strong, play a grandmaster chess.com bot like Morphy and put the game through your engine analysis.
The funniest thing is that you can’t even properly read the post game report anyway btw. When the player who dominated the whole game ends up with a worse accuracy and suddenly loses, it’s a tell. Do you think get dominated by playing more accurately? No. So think about how much more accurately you have to suddenly start playing to finish the game with the higher percentage. But all you saw was that he didn’t play 100% Stockfish like the other guy.
You’re wasting your time against cheats buddy. Either you’ll figure it out or you won’t, but it’s true.
>>
Btw remember even they’re doing this in anon. This isn’t even for rating, they just can’t help themselves. It’s much worse on rated accounts. You’d think it isn’t because anon is a free for all, but actually most people, including cheats, go to anon to play for themselves without stress. It’s even worse on accounts

>>
I get that cheating happens online — nobody’s denying that. But jumping straight from “his accuracy went up in the endgame” to “he toggled an adjustable-strength engine extension out of rage” is a huge leap without concrete proof.

Accuracy spikes don’t automatically mean someone turned on Stockfish. Endgames are often more forcing and more concrete, which can naturally produce higher engine agreement — especially if one side simplifies into positions that are objectively easier to play. A player can struggle strategically in the middlegame and still calculate well in sharp or technical endgames. That’s not unheard of.

Also, using post-game engine reports (like the ones on Chess.com) isn’t “running to Stockfish.” It’s one data point. It’s not perfect, but neither is “I felt his level shift.” Both intuition and engine stats can be wrong in isolation.

You’re right about one thing: understanding the game deeply matters. That’s exactly why accusations should be based on consistent, repeatable patterns — not one dramatic turnaround. Real cheat detection looks at long-term statistical anomalies across many games, not a single emotional narrative about someone getting “assmad.”

If someone is cheating, report it and let the platform’s detection systems handle it. If not, then it’s just part of competitive chess — swings happen, advantages get thrown, and endgames punish inaccuracies brutally.

Either way, improving your own analysis will help more than assuming malice every time a game turns around.

You keep saying “GWOK DID HE CHEAT” like that’s some kind of argument.

No — I don’t know he cheated. And neither do you.

That’s the whole point. Suspicion isn’t proof. A level shift isn’t proof. Higher endgame accuracy isn’t proof. If you think it’s cheating, report it and let the platform investigate. That’s how it works.

Spamming memes doesn’t magically turn a hunch into evidence.

Some of these stats are anti-correlated or have a bunch of confounding elements. For example if you're good at conversion it will decrease your flagging skills, even if you have no problem with time management(because flagging skills just looks at number of games won via timeout, not the balance of winning or losing on time). If you win by resignation or checkmate before your opponent can flag(by being good at converting winning positions) then you'll only get flags when someone leaves instead of resigning, lowering your flagging skills score. It also seems to group everyone by TC type rather than by actual TC. So your flagging "skills" are going to be low if you play 3+2 and 10+5 instead of 3+0 and 10+0.

Also both "Speed" and "Clock Time Usage" are measured by clock time remaining and are directly anti-correlated.

clock time usage is how much time you have remaining when you lose

I beat a 2050 Fide opponent today and it was a very easy 0 0 0 10 acpl game. It was honestly my easiest weekend game of the year so far, it really surprised me. Ok, he made a one-move blunder and collapsed with little resistance but even before that he took an hour for the first 10 moves for no reason. Kind of a baffling experience.
He probably just had an off-day but I gotta say it's not looking good for the "real chess starts at 2000 Fide" bros.

No, but they have a really strict definition for insufficient material ( the same definition has FIDE). If it is literally possible at all to construct a checkmate with the pieces on the board, then the material is not insufficient.

That's differnet from some other sites. I remember when I first made the switch to lichess I had K+N vs K+N but my opponent wasn't accepting a draw so I let the time run out thinking it was gonna be a draw but I lost.

Can white try running the king down to d1 and blocking with Qd2? Then if the queen gets taken its not stalemate and otherwise Black has no more checks.
>>
>>557548619
I notice now that white ran out of time but I do feel like the stalemate trap is supposed to be relevant. Interesting but a mistake is just getting the king to d3 and blocking with qd4, the problem would be that the dark squared queen isn't actually doing anything and its still stalemate.

The “even exchange” was referring to the exchange of minor pieces that you didn’t see, not an opportunity to equalize the material. The material was lost once he took the pawn, if we exchanged minor pieces I would still be down the pawn. Just stop replying, what is wrong with you?

judit is the only woman I've ever heard commentate with actual insight into positions/moves worthy of doing commentary.
But she's unpleasant to listen to with the bad accent and bossy attitude because she wants to be the alpha male, and she basically has no talent at smalltalk and telling stories to pass downtimes, no ability to tell a joke or pun when appropriate. But at least she's good enough of a chessplayer that I'd overlook all of that just like I overlook peter leko's weird accent. The problem is, any chess channel that would choose Polgar to commentate over other superior commentators, is an affirmative action channel and the second Polgar isn't available won't replace her with Yasser Seirawan, Robert Hess, Jan Gustaff, Peter Svidler, Peter Leko, Vishi Anand, David Howell, or GMs who rarely do it (Fabi/Giri, etc.) they think "the woman spot needs filled"' and replace judit with an even worse tania (entirely worthless), or anna cramling (cute but entirely worthless chess commentary), or jovanka (just a 0/10 tania but less screechy voice, same entirely useless commentary and just bar-moved)

Hell, even Danny Rensch is superior at talking about chess moves and chess positions than non-judit female commentators. And I'm not a danny-simp, He does a shitty job running a website and making events, but I don't remember anything he commentated badly.
>>
>>557551203

>>
>>557549798
Tell her she looks like a whore and politely ask if you can titty fuck her.
>>
>>557558187
I mostly agree with you, but even Rensch can be cringe when he says things like "Agree Town: Population us." My favorite commentator on chesscom is Aman Hambleton.
>>
>>557548875
The problem is he tried to style by making more queens instead of hunting me down so I used the extra tempi to push my last f pawn and the last moves were all checks. He could have a claimed a draw as well he was just stunlocked for the last 7 seconds.
>>

>Nearing end-game

>They fall for it and they try to improve king safety

I can't believe that worked haha. I honestly think they would've caught that if I hadn't done the exaggerated "look closely at the other side of the board" thing.

Game I played against a (self-claimed) femanon on /pol/, has a nice finish in an otherwise doomed opposite-sides castling game where my king was naked but for white pawns and my own (black) pieces. PGN for /chess/ good measure.

You're right, I weighed them and figured a pawn is more tangible than a bishop-knight exchange but it didn't end up meaning much for me after that bishop wrecked my kingside.
>>
>>557571242
Yeah not only does it remove his dangerous battery but it also weakens his own kingside, because after Nxd3 Qxd3 you have Bf4 and then Qa5 and so on just crushing him. I get those positions a lot in the Caro where people just try to castle long and mate me quickly and it’s easy to uno reverse
A good rule of thumb to remember is that in equal positions you take the material, in sharper games like this you play for position. It’s unlikely to go to an endgame

That’s true. In the game I posted, …bf5 only works in that line if it’s preceded by the …e5 sac. It’s because the white pawn on e5 blocks the queen’s view of d5 after qxf5, and that is important for some really specific reason.
But if you have both your knights out like in the mainline with nf3 included it works without issue. I would go through the lines with stockfish to get an understanding of when it works and when it doesn’t before trying to play it for the first time.

>>557617767
The problem with doing it in the mainline is if they don't play Qb3 for no reason before retreating back to c2(or playing Qb3 and actually taking after the c4 push).
If no tempo is wasted on Qb3-Qc2 and black plays Nf3 then the Bf5 idea doesn't work for the very simple reason of just playing dxc4.
>>
>>557628030
Probably, but if it's a public sink, then I don't do it obviously. I instead rub my hand all over the tip of my dick when I'm still at the urinal to get the pee off and then wash my hands at the sink afterwards. Not ideal, but it works too.
>>
>>557628090
And by dxc4 I obviously mean dxc5. You end up in a heavy piece endgame where your bishop is a bit deep and ends up being kicked around(or trading for the knight which isn't great for a piece you've moved multiple times).

Still fine to just force londonfaggots to play something else and they might not find dxc4.
>>
>>557628090
Oh yeah, that's true. I remember having to learn such things the hard way. And in some lines getting mated on c8 after the sac LOL. I fell for that too.

It is a stupid enough nickname, but it is so dumb that he would publicly endorse it. What would have made him a “prohpet”?

>About twenty years ago [1978] Arthur Bisguier and Pal Benko played a match of four games with new rules. The board was set up without the pieces; only the pawns in their original positions on the 2nd and 7th ranks. Instead of making a move, each player in turn was allowed to put a piece of his choosing on the board anywhere on the 1st and 8th ranks. When all pieces were on the board, white could make his first move. I was honoured to be called the inventor of this novelty although I got the idea from a letter published in British Chess Magazine in 1945 or 1946. All four games were published in the Dutch magazine Schaakbulletin.

The fourth game of the 75th Osho title match is being played, between Sota Fujii (sente, the Osho title holder) and Takuya Nagase. The time control is 8 hours per player over two days, and the match is a best of 7 (Nagase leads 2-1).
The opening is bishop exchange.

Find a solid unambitious opening just that lets you line up your queen and bishop against their king and it will probably carry you to titled status if youre good at spotting tactics.

Imagine being the sort of crybaby loser that simply leaves the game here, no respect at all.
https://lichess.org/yAvQRcPR/white
Online chess is chock full of these crybabies, they come in all stripes. The Never Resigners, the Game Abandoners, the Clock Run Outers, and of course the cheats. It’s just such an inhospitable experience.
I played Shogi for like a year and literally never had an experience like this. Even in poker both online and irl I don’t see people behave this immaturely, over REAL MONEY. It’s the only game where so many opponents log on purely to shit and cry and give you a middle finger for no reason.
Which is ironic, because chess has a reputation of being cultured and classy
>>
>>557662336
Both patzers who played this game like shit

Chess is unique because in poker you can always blame luck to some extent, so bad losers have an out, but in chess bad play is a reflection of your strength and that humiliation causes some people to cope+seethe instead of humbling them.

>>
>>557716976
I literally never tilt in poker but always do in chess over the smallest things, it’s crazy. I’ve gotten bad beats worth over a thousand dollars and never batted an eye, seriously. That’s a combination of getting shafted despite playing perfectly AND losing out on money and it still annoys me far more when a chess opponent cheats or is an idiot online. It’s one of the reasons I stopped playing, I can’t handle it
>>557717386
My favorite is Tony G but I play most like Negraneu, I like my suited connectors and other disguised hands. I’m actually pretty decent at poker but I’ve lost a few big hands online that puts me off playing it seriously, even though I was profitable at competitive buy-ins. It’s pretty soulless to play online as well, it’s really a social game where you’re supposed to be reading and talking to the table, which is the only way I play it now. Just for fun, but not poorly either
Phil is actually pretty ABC in my opinion, of all the big names in poker he’d be the one I’m least afraid of heads-up
And yes he’s not a good example of not crashing out but I don’t present him as one, he’s infamous because he sticks out in that regard. Most poker players, even the top ones, are really chill
>>
>>557717783
>I’ve gotten bad beats worth over a thousand dollars
Damn, what stakes were you playing at? I’ve been thinking about getting more into poker; I only know it from youtube videos. Any tips or book recs? How does it compare in difficulty to picking up chess?
>>
>>557718075
I was playing 50NL online ($50 buy-in) most of the time but sometimes 100, weirdly it was always the latter when I had my worst bad beats, which really made me think.
>Any tips or book recs?
1. Stop using semi-colons
2. I read two poker books, one by Doyle Brunson and one by Phil Hellmuth and I can’t remember the names of either. I would just recommend reading something by Hellmuth, he’s actually very insightful, a lot like Kasparov
>How does it compare in difficulty to picking up chess?
Poker is way easier, that’s why an adult chess enthusiast can never become a grandmaster or even an FM in most cases, but casuals become professional poker players all the time. I had a natural knack for it and was able to play by feel and still did well against the GTO nerds, which is unthinkable in chess, you can’t just start playing and compete with booked up intermediate players.
I do recommend playing it and even quitting chess and playing it instead, with poker at least there’s a possibility of making money, chess is just a black hole of amateur navel-gazing
>>

there is a difference between gambling and play poker seriously, used to be that if you studied a bit of theory and grinded at least 1-2000 hands a day anyone decent at games you could make a profit consistently.
the thing about poker is you are profiting from other people not the host(who takes the same small cut regardless of who wins) so it's a lot less rigged and low EV than other form of gambling, when you think about gambling degenerates you think about slots, betting, blackjack etc those are against the host, poker is much less degenerate if it wasn't for the host's taking a cut it would be a 0 sum game

Any experiences with playing both 15|10 and 10|0 on .c*m? For a given rapid Elo, is one pool weaker/stronger? Or do better flagging/swindling skills compensate for inferior "pure" chess skills to make those two pools equal?

I've seen a lot of streamers that usually play 10mins get frustrated trying out 15mins because they can't save their losing position like they're used to.

Yeah I mean, even if it isn't objectively the greatest this kind of thing gives you a good 30% chance of winning the game on the spot higher or lower depending on what rating you are and what time control you're playing. It also just forces your opponent to think and psychologically dominates them. I don't know if I would've played it myself but yeah.

I figured worst case is we go into the qxa2 rxb7 line anyways but with the knights swapped off, the computer thinks that would be like .5 better because his bishop's undeveloped but who cares? Plus, if someone's going to set up a fucking casket for their king like I saw in 100 800 rated puzzles, what was the point of doing all those puzzles if you don't threaten it?

The real hack for getting high accuracy isn't playing short games, it's playing long ones where you dick around forever up like 5 queens so the engine always sees mate every turn and raises your average.

We're not looking for high accuracy, though, we're looking for 100%

last time I checked 100 is high.
I am the one who got it, and if I'm not wrong I feel like I had 2 inaccuracies in the game and still 100% accuracy. You wouldn't believe it be that way but it do.
>>
>>557882316
100 is high, but my point was that methods that aim for high accuracy might not be good for getting 100%. Your (?) strategy of playing long games and farming accuracy in the endgame I figured wouldn't work because none of us are going to play the opening or middle game with 100% accuracy all along the way. But I guess the way accuracy is calculated is different than I thought since you got 100% while having inaccuracies.

It's a simple question, anon, like this one:
What is it about seeing a 13 year old woman playing chess that makes you immediately think of pedophilia?
Do you care to answer either of these questions?
>>
>>557969510
Lol okay just ignore my question then. I can answer yours though.

Sure, whatever. I don't want to get hung up on a communication error, I'll take you at your word and say you didn't mean to imply tania wasn't good at chess, and you do realize she is. But the pedo issue is far more pressing.

>>
>>557985719
Wait she literally did, by doing the thing you said women couldn't do?
>>
>>557986818
You don't understand my argument.
There is something called a mean, which can also be called an average. All chess players lumped together can give you a mean ability. In discussion of means, of differences between groups (the means of those groups) a single individual is literally irrelevant period.
Maybe if she were literally the best player of all time, it would add credence to the possibility that there is some hidden potential but she is nowhere close to that.
Please read about statistics and group differences.

Um well you're acting like group means reflect innate capacity, so judit is actually highly relevant to your point because in terms of chess development she was quite priveleged compared to her peers to have a chess grandmaster for a father that trained her as if she were a male prodigy?

Boys get groomed into chess from a young age all the time. It's very very common.
Hardly any women play the game. Imagine if girls got groomed into chess at the same rate as boys.
Literally one of the first woman who ever got groomed made it into the top 10 and beat supergms. This proves a women's brains can get to 2700+ levels if they start young.
Now lets groom thousands of girls, just like thousands of boys have been groomed into chess from a young age.
The only reason most of the top player are men is that most chess players are men.
Imagine a game were 1 million players in the world are male, and 1 player is female. What are the chances of the female player being the top. Chess is like this, except the ratio is probably more like 1:100, which is why theres usually one female close to or in the top 100 at various points in time. For example hou yifan made it to 55 in the world.
Now imagine it was 1:1 ratio of serious female to males playing the game.

You are just spouting nonsense. Her father had no title.
>>
>>557989198
I agree. Just like dunking a basketball right. Men are groomed from a young age to practice jumping, and women aren't. Imagine if women practiced at the same rate as men. They would be dunking on 11 ft hoops!
>>
>>557989198
Okay and how many squirrels are groomed from a young age to play chess? None? Imagine if the ratio were 1:1, then I posit there would be as many squirrel grandmasters as human grandmasters.

kek a story in one position
>>
>>557987612
False equivalency fallacy. Height is much more genetic and can’t be nurtured or influenced as much as chess ability.
The example I like to look at is India. Like 50 years ago there were no Indian grandmasters. People like you would be like “look at the data they’re clearly too stupid to be grandmasters.” The same thing applies to women. If we really started drilling all women on a large scale we’d get more Judit Polgars. Same thing for Africa and the blacks.
>>
>>557992619
I would like to see a graph with number of new women grandmasters over time and how it correlates to the male new GM over time. They’re trying to make chess as woman friendly as possible, I would assume the amount of new women GMs per year should be going up
>>
>>557992619
False equivalency fallacy. Slippery slope fallacy. Ad hominem fallacy.
Their ability could be predicted by IQ of the upper castes.
Your issue is you take a position that is clearly contrary to the natural order (that men and women have equivalent abilities) and despite there being no evidence for it, you make up all kinds of conspiracy theories and excuses for the lack of evidence. The default position should logically rather be that they are not equal until we see something different.
And there is as much difference in the brain structure as in any other trait. Look up differences in synaptic density between the sexes, look up their different performances in visuospatial tasks.
The evidence is all in line with their being naturally worse at chess but you have tge appeal to emotion fallacy that convinces you they’re equal despite everything .
There is no argument that they shouldn’t be dunking on eleven foot rims that i csnt turn around and use in this situation.

the one woman who was 0.00001% exception, was given a chance to play in a world champ tournament because the strongest 2-3 men dropped out.

Despite being given a free slot in the 8 player tourney, the strongest freak abnomally woman to ever live came in 8th place with an absolutely pathetic 4.5 out of 16 points far in last place. Topalov who won with 10 points had a +102 ELO performance (2890 eq), while the only woman to ever play in a male championship in last place performed at -125 ELO (2610 eq. 300 lower). She did not prove she belonged there with the men at all.

And in 21 years, thousands upon thousands of women have been too weak for even one single non-polgar to ever break into the open tournament championship scene after that one pity tournament 21 years ago that kasparov, karpov and kramnik didn't bother playing in.

The people stupid enough to think one single woman barely crawling on the very floor of competition means biological science doesn't exist are living in utter delusion.

This retard is doing the same thing as the people trying to pretend females drive exactly the same as men because Danicka Patrick exists (despite her driving different than 99.9999% of females while also in 17 races with the IZOD IndyCar Series, Patrick finished with zero wins, zero pole positions, zero podiums and zero fastest laps. In 11 races with the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Patrick finished with zero wins, zero pole positions, zero podiums and zero fastest laps. Her career winning percentage now stands at 0.53 percent. Half of 1%.)

If the best you can ever produce in hundreds of years, fails miserably, then that's not even "the exception that proves the rule", it's just "the basic evidence, statistics, history and objective science proves the rule"

>largest rating difference between himself and his peers since the creation of elo
>still possesses the 23rd highest peak rating over 50 years later
>struck fear in the hearts of his enemies
>invented black's strongest response to the king's gambit just because he got mad about losing to it once
>invented new time control that is now widely popular
>invented the most popular chess variant
>forced FIDE to have higher payouts for tournaments
>single-handedly brought the soviet chess school to its knees

>>
>>557993892
the only thing I dislike about the GOAT Fischer is he stopped playing chess. His reasons (FIDE sucking balls and russians rigging chess) were all valid, but it still deprived chess fans of whole decades of watching the best player in the world play.

Realistically, Bobby Fischer should've done what Garry Kasparov did and created his own Chess World Championship with no FIDE allowed. Instead of Kasparov vs Anand playing for world champion at the World Trade Center in new york city, maybe it would've been Fischer vs Kasparov.

>>557993645
You’re assuming the dataset is complete like I said with the India example. Whether you agree or not, serious chess is still very niche for women. What do you think of the blacks? Is Maurice Ashley one of the good ones?
>>
>>557993992
and I'd bet money half that list just purchased fake GM norms in east asian tournaments, those places where GMs will just lose to you on purpose for an envelope of cash.
>>
>>557994391
Isn’t that what the Nino Asian lady did? I heard she did a fake raffle thing and rigged it so her boyfriend would win
>>

Can all just acknowledge for a second that pinkamena is pure and would never do something devious like that. She is truly based mascot of /chess/, sorry stinkers.
>>
>>557994362
I think blacks are in exactly the same boat. And the existence of black gms is completely in accordance with that. If the means are different then on the extremes you’re still gonna have very strong players but the number of these players will be lower and their top representatives will also be weaker just going by the probability. There is nothing biologically stopping a woman or a black man from being a 2700 but if they have lower mean ability it is much less likely to happen.
Women would be much more likely than blacks men to achieve it and history has beared that out. For a black man to achieve it maybe another 500 years but by then we might have a 2900 white or chinese man so it will be less impressive.
>>
>>557994651
I've specifically seen evidence of two women who did that (they'd 'won' against grandmasters but lost against the sub2100 beginner players in the tourney)
Forget the exact names

I saw a chess drama video about it. I love chess drama, someone’s gotta die or something, we’re thirsting for a new gotcha.

The 500 years was a joke btw i think it will happen much sooner. A black world champion though 500 years seems reasonable guess.

We’re gonna have a black president way before we get a black WC
>>
>>557993992
And imagine the incentive for it. How famous you would be as a new judit polgar if you are up to the mens level.
Surely many many people are trying.

>>557996180
Yes brother but the effort is too high in a world of only fans. Not that I’m complaining about the Dina ludes, just saying she’s more of a whore than a serious chess competitor these days.

There are 13 year old boys who are more impressive in chess than the best women to ever play.
