A weird thing I realized. For Kiana, even arcs focused on her allow other characters their moments. Arc City had Rita be prominent. Nagazora was just as much about Mei as it is Kiana. Senti arc had Hua and Senti herself get just as much if not more screentime. Herrscher of Domination arc gave Seele an unexpected amount of development with confronting her other self and even being unwilling to let HoD take other Seele away. She's able to have the MC chair without stealing the spotlight from other characters, even going as far as letting others have decent attention in arcs where she's a primary focus. This is fundamentally the way HI3's gameplay works via tagging out members of a team and support characters are very valuable even if they aren't the primary DPS.Elysian Realm's a roguelike where at best you summon allies and get powerups from Flame Chasers but your chosen character (or Mei) never lets another character be controlled. And there's many builds that don't use the support characters at all, thus making it the gameplay mode where going one-woman-army is the most viable. Elysia takes up so much of the spotlight, even at the cost of other FCs and Mei herself, that this is an apt summary of her. One character's the focus, everyone else is at best an accessory or background dancer, at worst useless and safely ignored. Depending on your build, you might be using Aponia's restrictions therefore penalized for some actions including supports, thus an even worse case the supports are worse than useless for interfering with Exhortation.

Honkai Impact 3rd's greatest strength is its focus on character drama combined with a limited roster of characters, allowing them to be fleshed out and create palpable depth that sits on your tongue even after it ends.
