Killers shouldn't be fast. Survivors shouldn't be fast. Killer kits should be basic and self-explanatory. Survivors should rely on the map as their defense more so than perks. Power creep on both sides has made the game a jungle gym simulator rather than a horror chase game. Fix it.

I think that against every killer the survivor has more agency in chase. Maps favor survivors, most pallets can't actually be mindgamed or can be linked simply to another pallet or window. Survivor chase perks buy way more time than any full chase build for killer. The only one where it's about equal is with nurse, where every hit is a 50/50 mindgame, but even she has to eat time gained by sprint bursts and lithes and whatnot. This is in regards to survivors that are competent and killers that are competent obviously. I honestly wouldn't even think of this as a huge deal if survivors could actually expend their resources if they used them unwisely. Right now there's just no such thing as a deadzone. You can break every pallet on dead dog and they can buy plenty of time for a gen to pop with just the windows.

They have all of the agency while you chase them. If a killer investing the time in chase was actually rewarded then there would be more of it, but there is zero reward unless you are the person with the highest hook counter. The gutted all meaningful regression, which was the main incentive for closing chase and let lower tiers get some catch up. Now all regression is a joke and if survivors really want to they can sb away from every gen, hide, play it slow, and the killer will not be able to defend gens at all anymore. One survivor throwing or making big mistakes can snowball into multiple kills. Obviously those kills were not a result of game imbalance, but skill imbalance. A killer can also get a 0k due to a skill issue, but this will only affect their killrate. On the survivor team, only one weak link can tear apart the team. So, if they are looking at a killrate to target and they want it to be about equal chance to get a 4k or 0k in a fair matchup where both teams are playing at their best, they need to account for weak links boosting kill rates, so they don't want to target 50%, they actually want to target something a bit higher. They went with 60%, but ask yourself this, do most survivor losses come from really good killer plays, or really bad survivor plays/giving up? Is 10% actually enough to account for those matches? I would argue that killrates are even more inflated than they estimate, which is why when all survivors are locked in, the game is no longer balanced for killers to have a meaningful chance. They need more in depth data than killrate. They need to take each survivor's average time to down in each chase across all of their matches and add a weight to how their deaths affect the data.
