It's the reason why Z-ONE even tried at all as someone 'floating' above the sheet of time. We don't see any indication that the writers ever wanted dozens of versions of the main cast to exist on different separated branches, compared to the one main cast remaining the special characters protected from time warp changes by the crimson dragon
