You're not taking a big loss at all from levelling up your apostles to level 60-80 with 7/7/7 skills and rank 6 gear, and by the time you want more than that you'll be able to build a personality to 4+2 if not the entire 6.That said, the absolute best time to start as a new player is when the personality gacha is up because you can funnel all of your early free rolls into a specific personality and that gives you a massive early boost. You can even spark literally anyone, which makes getting over the early A-Club bottleneck very easy too.
