After seeing Queen's concept art I've decided that Undertale Prime, the theoretical de-fandomized version of Undertale, was 100% real mid-development, and the game morphed into its finalized form due to Toby being insecure about all of his ideas and trying to turn everything into a joke while explaining it to Temmie and his other friends. That's exactly what happened with Queen. That's exactly why Papyrus's arms became canonically black. Toby has zero integrity. He is insecure to the point where you can walk up to him and force him to make your headcanons real with no effort. He is weak. He is malleable. He will in fact "come out" as transgender by the end of development, just due to proximity with the other developers. Then he will kill himself. There will never be an Undertale 2.

Okay I hate to feed into the bait, but all this prophecy talk actually got me to reread it, and I noticed something interesting. The final part of the prophecy is explicitly referred to as a tragedy. While this could just refer to a bad event, tragedies in a literary sense specifically refer to stories where the protagonist is destroyed as a result of the fatal flaw in their character. If the prophecy is a tragedy, the protagonist is very likely to be Kris: they're the pov character, the first hero, and their past is much more connected to the events of the story than Susie or Ralsei. While it's hard to say this early in the story, their fatal flaw seems to be their inability to assert themselves. They spend 90% of the game as a puppet to the player, only ever going against us to act on the orders of The Knight. This submissiveness is the cause of most of their suffering and the suffering they inflict on others. Following this logic, the end of the prophecy would have Kris being killed (and potentially getting many others killed if the ending of a lot of other famous tragedies are any sign) by an event that they could have stopped, but chose not to, wallowing in their own lack of choice until it was too late to change anything. Brought low by their inability to make their own choices.

There are a few Suselle moments but they are fairly brief, less forced, and only happen if you assemble a Kris-Susie-Noelle party. Speaking of which, Susie is more like chapter 1 Susie and Noelle isn't flanderized as a horny lesbian. Berdly can also be added to the party, but he is disliked by some players who go out of their way to ditch him, and thus the idea of Noelle killing him becomes part of the Snowgrave meme. Certain tweaks to the combat system, like mercy percents and party member ACTs, are retroactively added to chapter 1 during the update.

I suck at explaining things, but I think I've solved Deltarune. I think the Prophecy might be based on belief. If there's belief in certain words of a prophetic nature, they will come to pass. This happens in Undertale with their prophecy, both endings follow it. On that topic, the religion that the prophecy exists in seems to be pretty small as Christianity exists in both Undertale and Deltarune so it might be only that the monsters who reside in hometown believe in it. What would happen if all the people believing in the prophecy were to be murdered and thus could no longer believe in it?

Groggily awakening after a night made excruciatingly long by scarcity of sleep in excitement for all the post-Valentine's Day plans I've been working out over the last month finally drawing nigh, and as I turn over in bed to gaze at my beloved Asgore unknowingly snoozing there my anticipation somehow redoubles such that I'm left with little recourse except snuggling up close with a big hug to vent some of my infatuated feelings (after our shift together at Flower King yesterday my embrace unsurprisingly didn't stir him, but I had accounted for a late start to our day and was in fact quite looking forward to some preemptive canoodling). Sneaking off to the kitchen as Asgore enters our bathroom to both start the water boiling for some morning tea and retrieve the heart-shaped box of homemade little chocolates sporting a large variety of flavors in the shape of different flowers he currently has for sale at his shop (I was particularly proud of the peanut butter golden flowers), and although I can only assume he has come to expect them at this point as I had been giving him the few edible failed practice attempts over the last month, my eagerness to share them with him is simply too great to care (although perhaps I would've been better off springing such excitement upon him later as he was still sleepy, he appeared quite amused by the sight of them regardless and imparted to me a gentle kiss as thanks). Finding Asgore in our closet as he's mulling over which pair of pants would be perfect for our romantic day spent together on the town, and as our eyes meet under the single warm light shining between his horns I interlock my fingers within his own to thank him for making me feel like the luckiest person in the world every day that I'm graced to spend with him (before I could even conclude my sweet-talking by saying "I love you" my feet were lifted from the earth in an encompassing hug as he finished for me, I'll remember this particular hug for a while I think)(1/3)

Making the first stop on our Valentine's celebration to the aquarium in which Asgore and I shared our very first kiss, and as we sit together on one of the benches surrounded by glass walls of blue I'm reminded once more of the magic they first held when I look upon his face to see it bathed in that lovely azure light broken between little cascading streaks of cyan that compliment the shape of his face so flawlessly that every emotion he displays feels as if it belongs captured in an art gallery for the whole world to behold its majesty (perhaps he shared the same kind of feeling, as the kiss we soon melted into one another to share felt like a foregone conclusion [even despite being under the watchful stare of a passing catfish]). Capping off our time out by driving down to the lake where we usually fish together to sit upon the dock and see the absolutely gorgeous sunset past the treeline being reflected off the still water, and as the burning orange glow of the sun battles the splashes of purplish-red closing in I cuddle in under his arm "since it's kinda chilly out here" at the perfect angle to see the light filter through his beautiful golden hair when he lean over to say all the wonderfully romantic things he had clearly been rehearsing in his head on the way over (we made out for a while in the brief interlude between the dying sunlight and the stars appearing one-by-one)(2/3)
