I think it's swedish autism and ego that made them focus on making bots as miserable as possible the last few months, but squids could be next for a major update. Also, they found some code and voicelines referencing alien wildlife that could be hostile to both sides in missions, so the idea is possible to have third parties.

Is orbital Gatling good? I feel like I’m not getting much usage out of it and people keep saying it’s useful. I get the idea of taking out dropshipped enemies but too often it feels like it either doesn’t take them all out or the bot drops are across the map on my team.

Just gotta be careful with repositioning fuckery and lead the blob, bot and squid drops are worse since the ships can block a ton of shots.
