I'm more surprised we still don't have Leandros playable, given that Chaplain has a model already in game. Feels like a nobrainer.
I expected Apothecary Biologis (2nd Gravis class, not a healslut) long before Techmarine too. I expected more generic classes like flying Gravis or even damn Terminators before Techmarine. Techmarine felt like the lowest priority addition to me, since this is small scale coop game where you don't use vehicles anyway.

Either there was some connection issue and there was an invisible opponent there, the heldrake fire damage lingered after the animation or Saber just went "fuck that guy" and pushed the fuck that guy button because I don't know what happened. The mission was going great (aside from the vanguard dying a few times) and I had 70% of my health two medpacks but I was too shocked to use them in time.

I can't get over how wasted campaign missions are. It's 6 (actually 7, since last mission the length of 2) missions just stuck there unused in a far more boring, moviegame game mode with a fraction of content and fun.
They should revisit them eventually so they are playable in Operations as well. Especially since they are all, but last one focused on Nids. It would require reworking, but still should be easier than making 1 mission every other month at best.

Immediately taking every gunstrike is the biggest tell of an inexperienced player in this game, regardless of what you think about it “not mattering” because you don’t lose any HP
The issue is not that you end up HP-neutral, the issue is that getting staggered at the end of a bad gunstrike sets you up to take more damage than you would have otherwise

the heavy bolter grenader launcher is good if the 50% buff to bodyshot damage stays on the grenades, same goes for the regular boltgun grenadelauncher.
the heroic balanced weapons will be good if the balanced stat buff also carries over to them, this was not the case on the PTS.
the heroic fencing(block) knife will probably be best in slot for tactical.
all other heroics are meh, memes or niche imo.

Sometimes its fun to play the hard strategem just to see how dogshit the average player is. These two chucklefucks got farmed by chaos cultist back and forth the entire match. I had to solo a carnifex during a majoris wave and also 4 autocannon termies at the same time. That being said bulwark is easy mode and playing with minotaur colors emboldens my soul.

I honestly think only tactical and bulwark, maybe vanguard and assault, would get to be truly busted by stacking traits.
Triple aligned aim could be good if the numbers add up, but it's only a nice DPS increase and not truly busted by my judgement.
Assault is similarly dependent on the numbers, 90% bonus gun strike damage could mean instant death on parries or basically nothing depending on the math.
I actually think more than the 30% heal on extremis kill starts having diminishing returns, how often will you actually need that full heal and how often will most of it go to waste? 45% cooldown per kill would be the real kicker, would let them really spam the non-refund hook build for big damage instead.
3 armour pips every 30 seconds also isn't really that big, the real value is in having armour at all not how much. It would actually be great if it was 1 pip every 10 seconds, but since they'd all stack the benefit compared to 1 pip would be minimal. Endless CHP would be nice though.
Snipers could get what, 30% headshot damage or an ability refund every 3rd headshot kill? Considering they already get their ability back so quickly I'd go for headshot damage but it'd be whatever.
Getting 75% ranged damage resistance would be hilarious but it'd not help at all against melee so probably only mid at best.

Great CQC burst damage that combos extremely well with Block weapons to still let you "melee" while keeping the single adrenaline charge in your pocket. Mag dump heads > profit.

Fantastic CQC burst option and moderately okay ranged pick. Ammo hungry so you gotta be a lot stingier with the shots especially since it fires 1/6th of the mag with every trigger pull. Shaves down minoris hordes too if you feel like it and can line up the right angle.
>Damage Occulus
2x Headshot damage bonus goes brrr. Laser accurate under scope and has a very good ttk on most things if you can line up the burst right. Probably the best gun to use with the Grapnel Execute chain build but lags behind the standard carbine for burst. Pair with a secondary/melee combo that fixes the cqc and you're golden.

Really really good for cleave and minoris clear and helps you learn Vanguard's CQC habits but is absolute dogshit for damage on terminus and extremis.

blanced will probably be really usefull next patch because its getting a huge buff. worst defensive type be damned, its going to do so much fucking damage it will be worth it.

The only real use case for Block weapons is against Chaos enemies or increased Extremis spawns since a mob of either of them are too difficult to handle with Fencing/Balanced weapons.

With Block you charge twice then attack said Chaos spawn mob to wipe them out instantly.

With Tyranids its much safer to just gunstrike the Warriors to oblivion and even with Fencing they hit execute range after a couple of swings anyway.

A fully charged ground pound will put any Majoris into execute range even with Fencing while the Bulwark only needs to parry once for Intidimating Aura + the shock grenade AoE to do the same; if the shock grenade is in cooldown it simply needs to either unga bunga for a few seconds or parry the second time for another Intimidating Aura AoE bomb to put said Majoris into red.

I really gotta hand to you Bros, the insight into minutiae of blocking mechanics you posted is impressive but in all my 800+ hours of playing I've never given THAT much attention or cared enough to scrutinize which block type is viable in this scenario or that. And I say this having maxed out everything (up until now) and even having cleared all the "fuck you, you can't have fun" strats content etc.

The best advice I can give to anyone is use what feels most comfortable to you. Everything can be cleared using every melee type. Unless Saber turn this game into some sports league competitive title, there's no actual need to split hairs over optimal way to play.

To be honest, melee should be your last resort unless you're playing Bulwark or Assault.

For the ranged classes you will never need to melee at all save for Terminus enemies since gunstrikes do more damage against them far more than shooting them in the end, exceptions being the bolt carbine where you can magdump on their heads and watch their HPs go down a chunk.

block imo is really awkward with tactical, since he has his 90s execute nuke that you usually want to skip until a moment comes up where you can blast multiple majoris/extremis with it, so you are often in the awkward position to either waste your explosion or your surge stacks on an already incapacitated enemy if you want ammo back. the fencing heroic knife will fix this issue for me, though i do dislike having clear best in slot heroics for some classes.

no, i intend to play tons of balanced once the patch drops. especially on techie that seems to be the best option since one prestige perk requires gunstrikes to enhance melee.
i also keep repeating that i play every defensive type, i just think that block is the best on most builds for now. again, since i need to keep repeating myself, i think that the buff to balanced weapons next patch will change a lot.

reclamation instantly became my favorite map.
the primes are almost too easy, but they at least look really imposing and the executions are sweet. also the entire mission looks great. i just dislike not being able to groundpound with assault in so many places.

It's the only map I don't have cleared on Absolute and even Normal stratagem runs have a decent shot of wiping to vortex beast if someone eats shit to his extended melee combo. You need decent teammates and not randoms, I beat mine via codeposting from here.

We wiped a few times actually and that's already with a maxed prestige Tactical with grenades and Vanguard with heal on the team (I played a trad heal Bulwark).

sniper is useless on the map and boss fight since carbine spammers get rekt by lasers, even vanguards switch to instigator/occulus and the vortex beast moves so much even heroic bolt sniper users will just stand there for the entire fight barely shooting
that leaves the final slot to bulwark and heavy, shield rush wasn't a thing when vortex was first released

Roger, I'll go for the Exacting Focus as I like doing gun strikes (playing with the Bolt Carbine). As an aside, I do find it rather irritating that the camo cloak options tend to obscure your chapter markings, I'd like a big cloak but I also want people to know I'm a Raptor.

Had a bulwark throw a melty because a lvl 4 assault didnt take a relic on reclamation then the bulwark went down and quit right before the boss (that I ended up soloing with the bot that replaced him since the assault newbie died).
