Man, I loved the EX finale, but it sure was VIBES over substance. It worked thematically (and well, it had to, given that they couldn't fucking shut up about the same thing in every single part of two whole chapters), watching some of the developments was very satisfying, but... I honestly think the story itself was a mess full of repetitive sophistry, too many figurative deus ex machinae in addition to the profusion of literal ones, and lore-wise kinda dumped all over whatever the initial plans for Deca/prophets were. Still cool overall, I really enjoyed reading it, but you can really feel that things behind the scenes have changed a lot.

Sensei's characterization has always been pretty vague. He's always been kinda basic in how he's always been entirely supportive of his students with few exceptions and those exceptions are cases where the student in question are being retards. These spoilers are making me think that's it's starting to define Sensei a bit more which I am 50/50 on. It could be cool to see Sensei have actual thoughts on situations that aren't blunt observations and acting in a way that isn't super obvious, but I really don't think I'm much of a fan of making Sensei seem vulnerable emotionally. He's the only adult around so he should never let that shit get to him like that, at least around students. So unless they are gonna tackle that in a way that avoids irreparably breaking that visage of a dependable adult to the students, then I'm not looking forward to it. I already don't quite like the non-miracle ending that we got with the decacunnies dying considering I was reassured several times that this game is about miracles and good ends\I don't quite trust the kneejerk reactions of the Japanese Senseis on how it's a good volume. I remember crying at the end of V1C3 and then later reflecting on how it wasn't really that good at all.
