Are we really having this same fucking conversation again? Kids play Pokemon over this for a miriad of reasons. For one, Pokemon still has a massive spotlight on it. If you own any Nintendo system, you know what Pokemon is. All monster catching games get compared to Pokemon. So kids will know what Pokemon is, that's a big one.Next though, is complexity. Yugioh is so far above the Pokemon TCG in terms of complexity that people who do play keep taking for granted how difficult this game is to learn. We just had a judge give a wrong ruling that lost somebody the game in the most recent YCS. Games hard, it is what it is and that sort of thing matters because ease of access into a hobby is an important concideration. Pokemon still has an anime running too, Yugioh does not. The anime was the biggest thing to draw people into discovering the game.Yugioh has everything going against it when it comes to attracting new players.
