Let's talk about what makes Arc (and stuns) dogshit:1. The buildup is absolutely horrendous, and thus it takes far more effort to proc stuns than it should. During the second Hive World campaign, I remember blasting a Stalker point-blank with the Blitzer, and then it recovered and tongue-lashed me before I could get a second shot off. The Pummeler and Pacifier are even worse trash, when back in the old days it used to take just one Pummeler round to the mouth to stun a Bile Spewer.2. The damage is weak and inconsistent when applied to enemies, but instant-kill when applied to players unless they're explicitly wearing Electrical Conduit. For instance, the Tesla Tower will one-shot players even with 50% Arc resist, so it absolutely has to be that one armor that otherwise serves zero purpose. And against enemies, you have to pray that the lightning chains properly and doesn't decide that a corpse is more important than the charging Alpha Commander. Nobody wants to be a TK machine while only marginally inconveniencing the enemy.3. Static field can't be worked around. If I drop an Orbital EMS, or have an EMS Mortar Sentry, or put a Static Field shell into a SEAF Artillery, and I wade into the blast zone, I'm going to be slowed for all of my movement and lose all of my stamina. It's absolutely bullshit that there isn't an armor passive that prevents this from happening.The entire concept needs a rework. Players should be allowed to bring the K-9 without being scared of instant-killing their teammates, the 40-50% Arc resist armors should have utility in protecting you from friendly fire (and by extension 95% Arc resist should absolutely not be mandatory), Arc weapons like the De-Escalator, Halt and Pummeler should more readily stun targets for longer periods of time without requiring constant additional fire to re-proc the stuns due to how short they are, and lightning chains should be more lenient to allow players to hit multiple enemies more consistently.

Any discussion of how useless status weapons are from that patch until Into the Unjust 6.0.1 needs a huge asterisks appended to it. When the pacifier was introduced it had a nominal status strength of 1 and an effective stun status strength of 4 in a full lobby, and right now it has a consistent status strength of 2. That actually translates to only a 1 to 2 bullet difference between guaranteed stuns now compared to before the multiplication fix, depending on the target. Targets are also stunned for twice the length of time compared to before: used to be the stun from pacifier and pumeller lasted for just 1.5 seconds, now it lasts 3. Only, because of the host proximity bug, peoples perceptions of them are they never stuns at all, ever, even now.
