Frontier kind of sucks ngl.I do like the monster designs themselves and the music, and the tonfas and magnet spike are interesting weapons along with their version of hunting styles, but man the game's structure and actual hunts are just awful.The entirety of the low rank and high rank experience is full of almost entirely easy hunts with most of the new monsters barely being able to do anything to you (and I intentionally ran underpowered armors), with a smidge of annoying bullshit monsters that do not provide any fun, just random hitbox attrocities.And then in G rank the game suddenly without any transition becomes impossible to play without 3 op people helping you, the structure entirely falls apart, most of the monsters aren't even fightable unless some time limited event is happening, and one thing that bothers me insanely hard and that no one mentions in any fucking youtube vids about Frontier is that barely ANY of the cast has weapons and armors?? Most of the Frontier monsters have just ONE or maybe two weapons to craft if ur lucky and not a single one has a full suite of weapons, and I'm fairly sure most of the G rank monsters and variants have none, with just other stuff to get from them like decos or other event style mats.Also mezaporta is probably the worst village/hub this series ever had. It looks shit and its segmented extremely badly.

Gore in Wilds is such a ruined mess. None of the things that made his fight enjoyable in 4th gen and Sunbreak are in Wilds and he's just an annoying and unfun fight, and his darkness effects look awful in this game compared to the others. What's with mainteam and them ruining every single monster they bring back? Seriously the only one they got properly right was Lagi, that's a terrible score.Nadia's quest was pretty kino though, I love her dialogue and it was a bit surprising to see that the quest is about how hunters deal with the death of their friends, I wish the series would have more moments like this where its just hunters talking about how the job is affecting them.

Ngl, Rise feels like a weird side-grade from world. So far at 3 star missions and the game feels like so many steps down and up from world at the same time. Having 2 ai helpers is cool, the fully controllable mount is great and the usability of all the endemic life is great too. Though the enviroments and general story is pretty rough, the enviroments feel so empty and bland compared to world that it feels like an old psp game where they are concerned. The missions being split between single player balanced missions and multiplayer balanced missions is so strange, the adaptive difficulty in world made way more sense rather than having to hunt everything twice once balanced for you, the other for a party.Photography system is cool and I like filling the notes pictures out but not at the cost of collecting pets :(like the wirebug, thats cool.

I feel like I need some help with buildcrafting in Wilds cause stuff is just not clicking for me compared to World and Rise. I tend to build with a focus towards comfy skills and especially stamina skills, I really like knowing I can abuse the fuck out of my stamina bar, especially since I play dual blades and bow a lot. In World I ended up usually crafting just full beta setts that had points in the skills I wanted and then just using decos to max out the stuff I wanted + stuff on the side. In Rise I tended to focus towards sets with less slots but a lot of the skills I wanted at once and that worked out also great, but in Wilds I feel like sets come with very few deco slots while also not having that many skills built in, especially skills that work well together. Not a single set has evade skills and stamina skills baked in, there's barely any sets with consitution, and decos are also super weird in that all armor decos regardless of slots only give you one point in that armor skill, so if u wanna use decos for anything that isn't challenger, weakpoint exploit or latent power, 3 slots are useless. Basically all of the sets I'm trying to make in Wilds miss out skills that I could have easily incorporated in the past 2 games, and it really makes me feel like all my builds are incomplete. I've basically given up and settled on just the full omega set because it has a lot of slots and I can build in both weakpoint exploit, burst, qol skills and both evade skills maxed out, but it sucks that my stamina bar ends in a flash.

I'm glad they kept bulldrome in p3rd. Not only does it make p3rd feel more connected to FU but it also allowed the devs to repeat one of the things I enjoyed about FU which is when you face the same monster again in a higher rank they'd include bulldrome in there as well so you'd have to deal with him while fighting the other monster. His moveset is incredibly simple and easy to fight around so it's just a fun way of increasing the difficulty.
