Why do redditors love the idea that V dies in Mikoshi and the V you play in the ending is some kind of replica? If the same brain is running the same personality with the same memories it most likely maintains continued consciousness
>B-but Alt said Soulkiller actually kills the soul
An AI wouldn't understand souls even if they were real in the Cyberpunk universe
>>
>>558091930
It's Towerfag cope to make themselves feel like V becoming a miserable reddit wagie with no friends or loved ones is actually the good ending because "you don't get le soulkiller". They can't stand that the accepted best endings are The Sun's blaze of insane solo raid space glory and The Star's quiet family life with your girl riding into the sunset. They want to believe that V going into a coma in Mikoshi and then having their mind written back into their exact same brain is death so they can justify an ending where V is forced to become a fucking redditor. I wish Towerfags would be exterminated from Earth.

>>
>>558091930
The Mikoshi question is a philosophical question and redditors are too retarded to deal with a game that leaves such questions up to the player to figure out. They think if a character in a game is doing exposition that means they're 100% right unless the narrative loudly tells them to question the character.
>>
My V got Mikoshi'd kept her soul, went to space, killed everyone in the space casino, got cured by Mr. Blue Eyes, then found Judy and convinced her to get back together after fucking her brains out for an entire week.
>B-but

people struggle with the idea of continuity. its an almost irrelevant detail that gets stressed to much.

the saying "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man" would blow their minds.

>kind of replica
what they should be focusing is the records kept around mikoshi that show that no engram is complete. And small details impact the completeness of the scan. But V did get shot in the head, so a significant portion of what they were is gone forever. And over the course of the game V and Johnny's mind combine, as their brain grows new sections. V by the time they reach mikoshi shouldnt give a damn if a hardware reset and fresh install would make them a different person. every moment they are a different person, and radically different in numerous ways than the start of the game. change is a constant, can we live with that
>>
>>558094083
Based.
>>
>>558094206
Yeah the more interesting thing Alt says is that while V has high engram integrity, it was impossible to completely unwind them from Johnny. This could mean both the ways in which Johnny's personality partially overwrote V's, the ways in which the two consciousnesses in one brain influenced each other, etc. Even if V were to survive the Star or Sun endings, the entire experience of the game means they'll never be the same person, in one way or another.
As far as continuity goes, I think it's not too different from when someone gets brought back from a heart attack. The "mental clone" interpretation is narratively boring and undermines the more interesting theme of change and the whole "not a single thing in this world isn't in the process of becoming something else" notion.
Hell, the quest inside Mikoshi is called "Changes".
>>
>redditors think this and that
lets be real, if you went to /v/ and somehow managed a discussion about this game you'd see a lot of the same retardation

It's kind of crazy how the vanilla game has a super short story but it basically accomplishes this by letting you finish the game without completing most of the major character arcs. You can just rush directly to killing yourself on the rooftop or selling yourself out to Arasaka by leaving Johnny's arc unfinished and just completely dropping V's lady friends who were your major helpers during two of the three main prongs of Act 2.
The notion that some people's first playthrough was finished without doing Chippin' In, Pyramid Song or Queen of the Highway makes me sick.

Transhumanists actuality believe that they can live forever by uploading their consciousness to computers, which is the same concept as an engram. This is what materialist atheists actually believe and it's hilarious. Obviously that won't be you anymore just an attempt of replicating your memories but a human being is made up of many layers and memories is just one of them.

isnt it a perfect reward.
its the brainless streamer playthrough.
something that i found fun during a brainless streamer playthrough is to never ask questions and end conversations as quickly as possible and try to keep track of what information V knows by the end. A V that hits the credits in 12-15 hours knows next to nothing about what just happened and even less about the world.

its like cooking someone a meal for them to enjoy, and they carelessly shovel it down their throat and give themselves a painful stomach ache. they earned that bullet

The specifics of what I believe doesn't matter but since the idea that we might be living inside a simulation is popular and it's easy to understand even to materialist atheists i think that's a pretty good analogy. You mean the attribute check for takedowns? I understand you'd scan more then. That's one of the things I didn't like about ENC. You can (or could perhaps idk) bypass it by just using a Mario takedown. I can get behind the idea of limiting what you can take down, but it's the wrong solution. Sure, it achieves the goal of making it harder, but it's only artificially so. If there was some intended counterplay to it (outside of raising your attribute), it would have been much better. Like popping a smoke, causing a distraction, or sonic shock, ... lowers the attribute required for takedown. As it is, it's just a hard deny, which you can cheesily bypass to boot. And what happens if you have the stealth takedown mod, btw? Doesn't that bypass it too?
>MONUMENT
Hah, true that. But we're on track for recovery so far. Swapped out some addiction-oriented cyberware, got pumped full of addiquit by the ripperdoc and I carry some around to keep me on my feet. >that's an extremely narrow view of the world
So you dont think our current world is full of enough wonderful and mysterious things for us to explore, discover, and understand that you need to invent fictional explanations without justification and look down on people for not living in your fantasy world? To me that is the easy way out, that is a lack of creativity, curiosity, and maturity to cling to the make believe when answers could be found.

>you're neglecting the right side of your brain
quite the opposite. As the child of an art teacher and music teacher, I always have some creative project going or new thing i want to learn. Being creative and looking for my own solutions, searching independently from the consensus is why i challenge the majority of the world that seems perfectly happy believing what they were told without question.

That pic lmao.
Nah, I can take or leave the check for takedowns, plus I use stealth finishers anyway so I automatically bypass that check. Smoke nades don’t always work because enemies are smart enough to move out of the smoke. What I mean is, ENC reworked enemy tiers so low-tier enemies are noticeably weaker while elites feel genuinely dangerous. On top of that, roles matter for example scavs rats, and spiders all serve different functions. Some are just grunts, others are netrunners, and enforcers, so target prioritization becomes important.

>Maybe Retro was a bit too affectionate with it.
And who could blame her?

Those meat heads didn't know what hit them. Really nice work with the brain fistfight. Had no idea the guy was that tanky. Some fun close calls there. He reminds me of killer croc

It's pretty visible here. And here https://d.uguu.se/AvWSoTgh.png I kept the lines in her arm but turned them blue to fit with the hand. It's Alt's hand, just blue. It's more refined in the sense that it better mimics an organic hand. Almost like a glove, making it way less prone to clip with anything with sleeves and it works with gloves and the like.
>upset
He's just a bit ticked off she managed to lose the door in the city center somewhere. But he'll get over it after repairs. He blew the last one up himself after all.

>>558147520
>Vid
Very sneaky, nicely done. Those finishers don't get old. And holy shit, those twelve rounds with Cryer, I wouldn't even dream of it.
>Define
Outlook: not good.
>upset
Well... There are definitely worse things...
>ENC
So you just bypass it yourself. Relatable. I get the rework, and that's cool for the most part, but it stops being fun when you have to start dealing with bloated HP bars from stealth. Not tuned to my taste. Well, it was anyway. I assume since I played with ENC there are more in-game options for it with later updates? There were some good ideas in there, but it needed to be more modular like DF.
>ugly thing
It was budget-friendly for a reason. She never had the eddies to get a good-looking one before. What do you mean by the kitsch ones exactly? The ones you can sometimes find on waitresses and the like?
>>
>>558154958
>It's pretty visible here.
Oh I gotcha. Looks good, and if it reduces clipping even better. Nice touch with the blue arm lines.
>He blew the last one up himself after all.
Exactly! Just hope nothing important was in the door pocket, like NW docs or shards.
>And here
Well how about that, totally missed it earlier. In my defense, I was distracted.

Kek, thank you, choom! He started taunting me, so I said, "Alright. Fists it is.", he really was tanky and I'm pretty sure he was immune to bleed and had regen.
>tomahawk finishers
They really are, I love them.
>convo with Pepe
Pepe let me down that time because he cowered behind the counter and cried for help when those goons got hostile.
>>558153954
Hey, thanks! He really was, and he even healed mid-fight too. Next time, I’ll invest in some melee perks. Maybe even beat some brats around Night city.
>Wonder what they're up to..
I bet they’re just relaxing. We’ll do some pickups, grab a bite, then head back to Dogtown.

Allegedly.
>>558154958
Thank you, fucker took forever to bring down bare fist but it was really fun.
>Relatable.
I can do it normally now that I have 20 body but I really like the finishers. Oh yeah you can tweak a bunch of things, including giving enemies vanilla HP author hasn't updated the thing in a long while so maybe in the future, thing is still the most popular combat mod after all.
>budget-friendly
Fair enough, the kitsch ones are like ones Rita has, with the spikes and nails, I really like those they are so sexy and stylish. The ones you are thinking about are probably entropy which are super barebones.
>>
>>558155790
Always impressed with people who have smooth mouse inputs as well. I seem super jittery in comparison.
>Pepe let me down that time because he cowered behind the counter and cried for help when those goons got hostile.
Kek come on Pepe, you're a big guy who's a bartender in NC. But maybe his cowardly streak is why he asked V to handle those two in the first place...
>Maybe even beat some brats around Night city.
Um, which brats?
>>
>>558156341
You’d be surprised. My mouse is a bit busted, and I don’t feel like changing it. I always thought your moves were pretty smooth.
>why he asked V to handle
Very keen observations. And that’s the best decision he ever made.
>Um, which brats?
Kek, I knew you'd say that. I meant the ones in Couch Fred list, I'm not sure what else to call them, "brats" sounds off in context. I'm sorry.

You don't need to see air in order to know it exists. Somethings exist outside of the boundaries of physical reality and that's why we can't verify them. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Also I don't need to convince you of it, we're all going to die someday and when we pass through to the other side this conversion will seem very silly to both of us because we'll experience it ourselves.
Also, many people are able to remember prebirth memories and many more people have had near death experiences. You can look stories like that many of them are undeniable to be truth.
>>
>>558157708
>My mouse is a bit busted, and I don’t feel like changing it.
Oh wow, but if something is familiar a lot of times it's better to keep it.
>And that’s the best decision he ever made.
For sure. Even potentially saved his marriage because of it.
>I meant the ones in Couch Fred list
Kek I knew what you meant, no worries. But don't be surprised if V keeps an eye out for a Ragnar speeding up with people leaning out the windows, just in case...
>>
>>558158768
>You don't need to see air in order to know it exists.
we have ways to confirm that air is present, because it acts upon other objects. same with gravity.

>Somethings exist outside of the boundaries of physical reality and that's why we can't verify them.
then how do you know it exists in the first place if we have no way to verify that it exists? someone made it up and expects you to take their word for it. that isnt a great way to maintain a world view.

>many people are able to remember prebirth memories
i have heard of scammers doing stuff like this. almost the opposite of those people that pretend to contact the dead.
By what mechanism is information being transferred?

>many more people have had near death experiences.
if you are talking about out of body experiences, those have been tested by having numbers on top of shelves in hospitals that can only be seen from above. people making the claims have not seen the numbers.

>You can look stories like that many of them are undeniable to be truth.
I did many years ago when i was more interested in the topic. religion and mystical thinking that exists on the periphery suffer from a lack of good evidence for their claims. their beliefs can not be justified, but it doesnt stop them from using their beliefs to treat others horribly or exert their will upon the political world where their incoherent values cause real damage.

You'll just have to live with that. The purpose of this life is very specific and it doesn't include verifying things beyond this "simulation". there is a reason we have a veil of forgetfulness before we come here.

The fact that it doesn't stick out means it's not an eyesore, at least kek. I also removed her botched facial scar; it made sense she'd cosmetically fix that up along with the budget hand. Truly a fixer-upper love story for the ages. From the streets into NWsheets.
>nothing important
Just Randy Pitchford's USB stick, (long) list of V's that denied River entry, the Barry files and dossier on the dolphin cabal. But we have copies.

>>558155790
Whenever it becomes more modular, I'll give it a shot again. I get why it's popular, but it does too much at once for me. I just want the AI tweaks and a general damage scaler. Doing a lot more beyond that is great, but it's worthless if you don't make it straightforward to kill certain features on the whole, like TWR or DF/Remorse does so well.
>Rita

>undeniably speaking the truth like this guy

he has verifiable evidence?
a tangent, but i think in christian theology no one has entered heaven yet. their souls remain with the body until the end times when all believers are called into heaven. would be funny if this guy is telling the truth and automatically makes christianity more unjustifiable.

another side note. there are people with mental issues that can go into a deep sleep where their imagination runs wild and have full recollection of a life lived in their dreams. I know of a person that has schizophrenics in their family, and lived entire lives in their dreams as a vampire. A more popular instance of this happening is a comedian that took a "heroic" dose of dmt and lived 40 years as a mermaid and raised a family within his tripped out hallucination. the brain is capable of extreme self deception and misinterpretation. its why evidence and the ability to reproduce conditions to verify are critical. until that happen, its just one person's claims.

Anybody who gives a shit about how other people play games is a loser desu. Especially single player RPGs. For me, the entire appeal of PC gaming is being able to play how I want with whatever input devices I want.
