One of the more interesting things about the mainline/portable split is the notion of exclusive or semi-exclusive monsters. There are a ton of examples of this but the most interesting ones to me are the recurring monsters you see fairly often but only on one side. Like amatsu for example has been in every portable game since its introduction but has never been in a mainline game. Some popular semi exclusive mons are brachy and akantor. They have crossed into the other series but only once. Brachy has been a mainstay in mainline since its introduction while for portable he only showed up in GU and now that portable has magnamalo as an endgame level blast option I wouldn't count on brachy coming back often in portable if at all. Likewise akantor was in every portable since it was introduced (except for rise but I imagine he'll be back next portable) while it's only been in mainline once in 4U. I think it's pretty interesting that both series have developed distinct identities not only through mechanics and aesthetics but also literally which monsters they tend to bring back in certain roles.

I've tried to help a few people finish the quest now and noticed one major flaw in most of the fails: people use the same set for all four monsters.Y'all might really want to pack a farcaster and set up sets with comfort decos and the right weapons for every monster. I've seen people fail against rey because they didn't bring stun res or get melted by Nu Udra without adaptability, or have basically permanent dragon blight against Arkveld.Bringing the right defensive skills will greatly enhance your DPS.
