It describes a experiment (monitored by Dr. Newman) getting used to the dollhouse and acting similarily crazy to Lily after a few months, but Gracie only became Lily after the HoJ where Newman was dead. I've been crafting OCs for a potential fanfic/artwork one day, and rn I'm brainstorming a male conditioner equivalent to Ms. Gracie. My current idea is that he'd be a Mr. Rogers parody (or Pee-Wee Herman), but I'm trying to think of what role he'd fill in conditioning that Ms. Gracie doesn't, and what toy would be a fitting punishment for him, the same way Lily represents the childish ideals Gracie promoted. Yo just finished my playthrough of chapter 5, thought it was pretty cool. Way better than 4 at least, i remember that one being dumb and boring. 5 reminded me that this series seems fairly high quality and budget even if the episodes are somewhat short.
