Trying out the new Yuya (or I guess Zarc) cards, I see the idea here. Before this the two main problems with Supreme King decks were: 1) you needed two of SK Magician, SK Gate Zero, and SK Darkwurm to start playing and 2) the deck relied on climbing through Electrumite and Beyond to set up its plays but didn't have enough bodies to do that on its own so you had to splice in something else. Performapal was probably the intended choice, but Melodious ended up being better because a) it was just better and b) it guaranteed two level 7s so you could make Absolute. With the new support you have actual one card starters, and the new Astrograph pulls triple duty by being a starter, getting you enough bodies to start the link climb, and being a level 7 so you can overlay SK Magician and him into Absolute. I also see the idea with the Heavenly Dragons. They're proper targets for Soul of the SK's GY effect. Now instead of Crystal Wing being the only thing you could cheat out, you can get two (eventually three) dragons with an on-summon effect that can themselves climb into their stronger forms. A shame Odd Eyes isn't doing shit, but whatever you have Vortex on the field and need a spot free to summon a Solfachord. Since Soul removes Z-Arc from the field you only have three zones to work with anyways.The new problems I see are: 1) you STILL need Solfachord Coolia for some godforsaken reason (upcoming Link 4 Beyond upgrade that has Coolia's effect?), though at least splashing in Solfachords is easy now and 2) your interaction goes off all at once. You have the boardwipe on initial activation, and then you need to respond to a spell card to activate Soul's GY effect. So the opponent just has to fish out your boardwipe and then either not play spells or play the spell early enough you blow your load on a single monster.At least Horoscope protects you from duster.

I'm telling ya, this game would be saved if they made a new anime that wasn't rush slop, all they need is a main character who uses tribute focused deck at first and 6 side characters whose decks focus on Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Pendulum and Link and through their duels with the protagonist the protagonist's deck starts incorporating their methods until protag's deck is now an omni deck capable of using every single method after discarding the tribute summon aspect until the final boss where the said boss manages to exploit the hole in using each summoning method in the game causing protagonist to shock them by tribute summoning his powerful non tribute monsters and winning the game, saving the world and so on. I think the problem is they no longer have duel writers, the old men they've got whose been writing duels for 30 years don't have the desire to handle writing duels for a new series let alone duels that focus on 1 method at a time
