First for still no Ender Shelf
>>558340584I use prot on everything, and have never bothered with anything else. I simply keep a fire res potion on me while in the nether
>>558342520cool as FUCKhell yeah
>>558342621
>>558342520>>558343070Awesome job. I'm stealing this design.
>>558344025
>>558344313That's way overkill, but I love the idea. Makes me want to build some sort of boneyard for giant beasts and turn it into a new base
>>558345674its a mob gauntletthanks to the dark glass its always dark in there (but you can generally still see, or you can just use a cheap night vision potion) and mobs will spawn all day and nightthey dont spawn in the back 2/5ths of it, though, I guess its too narrowI wanted a big serpent skeleton that wound around my whole complex and it mostly came out the way I wanted it
Found this cool looking peninsula while exploring west-facing coastlines. I have been playing in my world for 1 year and I plan to keep it forever, my main base/city is like a 30s nether trip in elytra away from this spot, and I want to make this spot my second area of expansion. My first city is in a nice river valley, surrounded by hills, and traversed by a river, but it's too far from the ocean, and I feel kind of too imprisoned, and sometimes I crave to look at the ocean at sunset, that's why I want to develop a second city.I think every good area must have a good mix of water features (lakes, rivers, ocean), some variation in heights, and some nice biomes, and no ugly biomes too nearby (swamp, stony shores etc)And this place meets every criterias for me, it's lacking in biomes but meh, you can always import trees so it's fine.(software used is unmined)
>>558345881Oh, okay. I thought it was just a tunnel or something. Makes sense now
>>558346773woah
Share your storage rooms
>>558349167part of my basementI basically just have a bunch of barrels in my kitchen up along the ceiling as cabinets (mostly food/plants/other mob drops)some barrels and chests in the basementand a freezer with ice blocks and barrels for meats
>>558349167I hate the fact that items in the panel remain 3d so I'll probably forever use signs (or nothing at all).
Has an Enderman ever just teleported directly in front of you with your crosshair pointed at his face? I wonder if that's even possible.
>>558349167I'm very happy about my chest room. at first it was just a big cuboid room below my village, the room was shit, the roof was shit, the floor was shit, and I improved little by little. The floor was very dull at first, but one day I got pissed at it, took the dimensions of my room and spent hours figuring out a glazed terracotta design to that slaps, still happy about it. My ceiling is an abstract mess, idk, it's fine so I've never touched it again.I've installed copper golems behind my rows of chest so I can just dump my items and it eventually gets sorted. It's underground so that I can keep expanding eventually, there's one hidden room behind the staircase, there's also one alcove for rarer blocks on the right that I couldn't present in the shot. On the right side of the upper section above the chest, is a set of doors that open on my lake so that I can just rocket it in and out of this place super easily.
>>558353978wow anon, theres lots of good shit to comment on here>decorated ceilingsa new idea; never even considered it>barkless mangrove pillarsneat idea>barkless teal mushroom trees mixed with coppernice touchthat floor; ive never seen anybody make good use of terracotta, and you even used some concrete powder too; chefs kiss
>>558353978oh, and the 2x2 glowberryless vines are a neat idea too
>>558355175tysome angle from the other side. One thing I hadn't noticed and that was not intentional when I designed my room is that the colors of the floor patterns mirrors other color in the room, I always just looked at my room and looked at colors and felt something was off or right, just by fuzzy taste judgmentthe purple mirrors the amethyst of the ceilingthe red mirrors the mangrove pillarsthe yellow mirrors the lights, the glowberries, the few bamboo trapdoorsthe green mirrors the hanging glowberry leavesI think what makes it looks good is that despite it being a bit cluttery is that it's mostly centerd around those 4 colors +white and black If have one advice it is this: take things slowly, don't hesitate to tear down and reassess things constantly, I probably did 5 iterations of the pillar part before I felt satisfied, and this floor was I think preceded by 3 previous attempts at good floors
>>558353978>>558355897It looks very cool! But it triggers me how the stairs aren't centered symmetrically to the floor pattern. And how the end rods appears plopped chaotically at random instead of in a grid at equidistant intervals or something.
>>558340060 #I'd put fire protection on golden boots rather than a helmet, as the boots have nether-specific enchantments, soul speed and frost walker (for walking on magma).
>>558358214I would not advise putting soul speed 3 or frost walker on an item with 91 durability, it'll be shredded to bits! In fact, I think it's a far better idea to use a gold helmet for this purpose, specifically because you DONT care about its special enchantments in the nether. All you need is fire prot 4, unbreaking 3, and mending if you want to keep the same one. If it breaks you don't care, but with boots you would care at least a smidgen more because those have a million enchants on them.Granted I would never have frost walker on my main boots, and soul speed 3 can be a bad thing (but i keep it on my main boots anyway most of the time), but i also dont think they're really all that impactful. If you're dealing with magma blocks you probably have a fire res pot on, and if you care about soul speed for any medium to large size distance you'd rather it be on diamond or netherite boots.
>>558358740But that's no fun. There's not much reason to use those enchants ever outside of that because they are so disliked, so it sounds fun to have them on dedicated nether boots, even if they need a lot of upkeep. Frost walker doesn't use durability, at least not from magma.
>>558363008I tried soul speed on some gold boots, even with unbreaking 3 they went to low durability in no timeI had to plunder the bone blocks from like 6 or 7 soulsand valleys to make my giant snake skeleton; the boots didnt even last through onethey need to change them so that it doesnt drain durability; the enchant is already very niche, wtf were they thinking
I was going through last thread's posts and not the guy that was asking, but it made me wonder if I'm playing wrong lol. I have each type of prot on each piece of gear, but from what I read blast and projectile are basically worthless?
>>558370063they're not worthless, they're just niche; if you're going to heavily enchant a set of armor, you're best off going full prot 4I made a set of blast protection netherite for when I do the wither fight (I don't want to cheese it)projectile protection could be good for raids if you're out of melee reach
>>558370535>I made a set of blast protection netherite for when I do the wither fightYou max out at 80% blast protection with 3 prot 4s and 1 blast protection, or maybe 2 prot 4s and 2 blast prot 4s, adding more blast protection does absolutely nothing (in terms of adding more blast damage resistance) compared to only having 1 piece of blast prot 4 and 3 prot 4s.
>>558370710oh well
>>558370710>please minmax in solved sandbox gameno
>>558370535>>558370710ok I see thanks for the input. I'll leave the niche stuff along with the nether stuff and remake em with full prot 4
I have one suit of armor for each protection, and switch them as needed. I just wish there was a way to automatically switch armor
on the topic of how some enchants are just completely useless, will mojang ever add an actual dangerous arachnid mob so bane of arthropods can have a use? right now it's only effective against the weakest mobs in the game
>>558375787you cant do it with a powered shelf?
>>558375787I use Supplementaries for that.>>558376938I think unpowered would be more useful.>grab helmet off shelf>swap from hotbar>put old helmet on shelfIt would be slow, but the lack of menu fuckery might be an improvement.
>>558376938do shelves unequip and equip new pieces of armor if you click them? I've never messed around with shelves
>3 years old Large Biomes world>only have 2 biomes next to spawn, need to travel thousands of blocks to get new trees, dog skins, camels, foxes, ice...>everytime it's an entirely different adventure>keep dying so had to get netherite for my adventures>cleaning a bastion was several adventures in one>happy my nu-minecraft experience isn't tedious because it feels like an infinite adventure game>regularly move my world to new versions>update to 1.21.8 few months ago>dripstone and glowberry vines don't grow anymore despite the game running for hourspls tell me my world can be fixdi need it to decorate my underground village
>>558375787seems mostly useless, at most you'd want 2 parts of a certain protection, you'd never want full of a specific protection besides regular protection, there's just next to zero benefit to it and only massive drawbacks.
im tired of diggingis there anything in the overworld to explore other than villages and shit? i think its nomad time
>>558378874I dont know; me neither
>>558378981you can grow the vines manually, and you can make dripstone as long as you want by just applying more dripstone
>>558376003Probably never due to the ongoing self diagnosis of arachnophobia people falsely claim to have, they wouldn't want to add more arachnid like creatures to the game
>>558378874>>558379876no, the whole point is to swap items out of your hotbarthere wouldn't even be a good way to include equipped armor
>>558378874Dispensers can do this but I've never played around with them enough to see if they unequip armor you currently have by replacing with whatever is inside the dispenser. I honestly can't think of a good reason to swap armor like that unless you have no armor on at all
>>558375787>>558380840hold up; cant you switch armor with an armor stand, one piece at a time?
>>558381113they don't override, it only works if you have the slot free
>>558378981>>dripstone and glowberry vines don't grow anymore despite the game running for hoursWhat? This is not a change that Mojang made to the game. Are you using a mod that changes this?
>>558349167This is my main storage building. It has a fully automatic sorting machine powered by copper golems.[1/7]
>>558392276I read that as storage village as I opened the image and thought this mad man actually managed to do what no one else has done yet
>>558392276The sorting machine is made up of several sorting machines linked together. On the main floor, I have two sorting machines. The first one, that the items goes through first, uses the kind of golem sorter where the golems walk across the tops a line of chests, and then the items filter down into a stack of chests. [2/7]
>>558392771The second sorter on the first floor uses a sorter of my own design where two golems walk back and forth on two levels behind a stack of chests. I did it this way because I wanted each type of wood to have it's own chest. Also because this is what I could fit into this space (I built this building before the copper age, and then re-built the interior with copper golem sorters).[3/7]
>>558393005In the basement, I have a second large bulk sorter, identical to the one of the first floor, directly below it. I put the less commonly used blocks on the second floor.[4/7]
>>558393159I also have two more of the smaller item sorters in basement, linked after the big one. These are for the least commonly used items and other junk. Also, there is an overflow chest for anything that doesn't filter into any of the chests. If the golems mistakenly miss any chest and fail to properly sort an item, it also ends up in the overflow.[5/7]
>>558393412This is the backside of the first big item sorter. When I was building it, an iron golem climbed up the scaffolding I had set up and put a poppy on one of the copper golem's head.[6/7]
>>558393520This is the back of the basement item sorter. You can also see here the hoppers and dropper tower that moves items up from the drop-off chest in the front to the first main item sorting module.[7/7]
>>558392439It kind of is a storage village. It's not all connected into a single automatic sorting system, though. I've designed my whole "base" to be like a small city, where I have different buildings for different things. The storage building stores mostly construction materials and some other junk, but I have separate buildings for other things like rockets, food, etc.Pic related is my other storage building that I use for dyes, wools, banners, and leather. [1/2]
>>558394161And this is the interior. I have two walls of dyed shulker boxes, one for wool and one for dye. I also have some automatically re-filling cauldrons for removing layers from banners.[2/2]
>>558381491I think, but I want to stand on a pressure plate or something and automatically swap out my entire armor set
>>558375787>>558396472Impulse did something like this recently on Hermitcraft. He didn't show the redstone behind it, but what you are looking for is possible.https://youtu.be/09D5RUFj9DQ?t=897
man, i just slapped together like 20 rocks for my house
>>558398829is it actually possible or some hermitcraft datapack nonsense? I'll have to experiment to see
>>558398829>>558399860I just watched the beginning of the video and he manually throws all his armor off, that's not what I want. I don't want to have to do anything at all, just have my armor swapped
>zombie baby appears>die>download mod to remove them>games fun againseriously what was the counter to them? fucking cobwebs did nothing
>>558400857You can disable hostile mobs in the game settings.
>>558400327combo bed death chamber, kills you restricts your spawn and then armors you.
is that diamonds
it's near the center of light
It wasn't diamonds. It was a diamond.
>>558401593lel, I suppose that could work

>>558410540get netherite.fully enchant it allset up a villager trading hall to always have more of all those enchantmentsmake farms for materials and resourcesget all advancementsand/or...build a pretty castle?
>>558410540diamond armor means you can fight without dyingthe tools are just for speed and durability, so go build something
>>558380640You could add an optional boss like the Withert. arachnophobe
I just logged in to my server to see this.we have a whitelist enabled. It's only for me and one other person. We needed to use offline accounts though. What the fuck does this mean, and has anyone else seen a similar thing happen?A couple months ago, I saw a weird instance where a user named MCScan logged in to my server for a moment only to leave immediately after. That was when I enabled the whitelist. They've got my account name, and my IP address. Mine is the genuine Mojang account. The other one on the server has the offline one.
>>558420086right, and this was on a 1.18.2 vanilla server. in case anyone knows how to keep this from happening again.
>>558420086Whitelists don't work with offline servers, it's just a list of names, and any offline account can have any name, so they can figure out a name on the server and use it. You need an authentication plugin.
>>558380640You've never been afraid of spiders in your life?
>>558421923How'd he even find out what names were allowed if he couldn't get past the whitelist to see online players in the first place?I changed the port to something random that definitely isn't my mom's birthday. If that doesn't work, then the other person on the server is just going to have to buy the game again.
>>558423403I think there is a way to find out what players are playing on a server, or it can just be bruteforced. Anyway, you can just use an authentication plugin.
>>558423701where do I get started on that? Which server software is easiest to migrate an existing server to?
BuildfagsIf you set out to build something do you usually test it out first in creative or do you just rawdog it in survival until you get it right? Also do you use references/tools?
>>558379992>apply more dripstonebut how do i generate it? it used to work before upgrading to 1.21.8, i put a water source above a dripstone block and it generated dripstone underneath i don't understand why it stopped across my entire map>>558384517no mod whatsoever>>558379085oceans, islands, ancient citiesi play on large biomes so exploration is mandatory to access different blocks and mobs
>>558364504>I had to plunder the bone blocks from like 6 or 7 soulsand valleys to make my giant snake skeletonYou're mob farm??
>>558380640I have gimmickophobia. When will they start being more inclusive to people like me?
>>558311756>if you leave the area horizontally the hostile mobs will be permanently saved in the chunk data>if you leave the area vertically they will all despawn immediatelyT-thanks Mojank
>>558370063Like many anons recommended in a previous thread, I heavily adapt my gear depending on the biome Im exploring and the tast im doingmonths ago when all I had was a skelleton farm, I had enchanted diamond armor and a pair of gold depth strider boots which i put on when i was swimming. I ended up merging them with soul speed gold boots i got from a bastion Now my netherite armor is all prot 4 and I also use fire resist and water breathing potions depending on context, also pearls>>558392276>>558394161damn that's some impressive engineering bro, and tasteful too>>558420086>>558423403My thought process: if I successfully log in to a server that has no whitelist, I can see the members list or read the chat logs. Then, after figuring out at least one player name, I can come back to impersonate it if the server is offlineMy intuition is that if you only whitelist a couple of very hard to guess names like xXx_MasterKillerOverlord_xXx and play as them, the attacker won't be able to access the server until he guesses the new names. So if it's not too much of a hassle, stop playing with your Microkike account.also BACKUPS BACKUPS BACKUPS
>Still not a single wood set that is greenAzalea was the perfect opportunity for such a feature but for whatever reason Mojang chickened out instead.
>>558420086FWI I looked into the Fifth Column a while back because I thought it was semi interesting.Turns out it's actually a bunch of trannys who mainly target servers they don't like who are 'bigots' or whatever. This should not be surprising that anyone with enough free time to grief random minecraft servers probably ran by children for their friends are unemployed troons.
>>558393520>an iron golem climbed up the scaffolding I had set up and put a poppy on one of the copper golem's head. They can do that? That's cute>>558393159I like the 'spare' golems in storageNice palette and comfy build overall
>>558426178I'm a novice but I can still say this, the bigger the build the more I need to plan in creative. Also it depends whether in your mind you have a good sense of proportion for the structure you're building. Like for a church or cathedral like build, because of real life, you already know how it should feel like in terms of proportions. If you're building something new and creative, you're gonna want to test the proportions between the towers and main blocks of your build, typically in creative.A typical house I just go for it in survival A medium size build I'll go build a skeleton to figure out palette and proportion, but I don't to spend too much timeFor my castle, I build full tower tops in creative, because building towers in survival is a pain
Does anyone really play on large biomes worlds? Isn't it boring to have the same biome stretch on for so long?
owo whats this
https://youtu.be/qi4bTaCORTs?t=466Did they ruin the sounds again or are you subtly ragebaiting with a godawful resource pack?
Ahh I see. Dangerous place.
>>558446603That's not vanilla. I like the redstone lamp placement sound, though, it sounds slick.
>>558380640this is sadly the case and spiders also probably fit as an answer to that one anons question about grandfathered in features that nujang would remove if they could. I don't understand how arachnophobia became such a meme
https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-26-1-snapshot-10new snapshot, it’s easier to tell if a golden dandelion was used on a baby mob, the heads of baby zombies and its variants have been shrunk
>>558453461how baby zombies look now, before they used the same heads as adults which looked ridiculously large
Hoping that work they're doing with animals will lead to improvements for cats and dogs. I have hounds set near my pens to determine the occasional, random fox spawn. I'd like for there to be more animation. Perhaps a bed block that sets a home position that they wander around or patrol pathing tiles.
>>558422060I am afraid of spiders, I don't have arachnophobia. A phobia is an anxiety disorder, the amount of people I've seen react to spiders who claim they have arachnophobia but are fine 10 seconds later is in the 99% of all people I've ever met, seen online or heard about. If you have a real phobia, like my brother who has cynophobia, just hearing a dog bark has him mentally break down crying and you can't get him to calm down for about an hour. That's what a phobia is, it's why you get clinically diagnosed for phobias because of how bad they are. If I see a spider I panic, either kill it or just leave the area and wait till my heart calms down, that isn't arachnophobia. Does every person on the planet have phonophobia because we get jump scared by loud noises? No, we don't
>>558454386This looks much better.I hope they fix baby villagers, too.
>>558341818What happened with the Minecraft rails speed increase?
>>558445503This guy >>558378981 does, and he makes a convincing argument to try it.

At some point we have to come to an agreement that abandoned mineshafts should always start at the surface.
>>558426178I rawdog, but only because I play alpha and there's like 5 blocks to build with. Modern probably takes more testing.
>>558458738I have homophobia, i took an hour to calm down after reading your post.

>>558426178depends. most of the time I just go straight in to survival, sometimes I'll plan a few ideas in creative, but not the full build, and rarely I'll hammer out the whole thing in creative first
>>558465412It sounds way more realistic and challenging, if I hadn't decided that my current save would be a "forever world" (that I'm now nearly a year into) I'd reroll right now.
talk me out of moving everything to the mountaintop.it would require carving out most of it into a bowl like structurethen making a stone basement for storagethen the first floor for masturbating andand for the roof i may use it for planting foodand maybe building a spiral staircase to get in/out and probably a subsub basement for a secre
>>558492570what's with the recent trend of "forever worlds"? is that not how most people already played? I've played since Alpha and I've really only had three worlds outside of the couple I started with friends that never lasted very long. one that I played in Alpha/Beta, one that I played from like 1.2-1.8, and one that I started in 1.8 and I'm still playing on. do most players just constantly make new worlds? how do you ever get any of your ideas built if you are constantly restarting?

Expanding my mini-villager trading hall by two additional cells (four more villagers). A bit uncertain about what I'm going to add. I have two farmers for pumpkins/melons. Cleric for dust, glowstone, pearls, and xp bottles. Librarian for glass and lanterns.Could just double everything up to trade faster, so four farmers, two clerics, two librarians. I have villagers elsewhere for mending, unbreaking, armor, tools, etc.
whats stopping me from building gigantic walls around villager houses
>>558521692and amazon used to only sell books
>>558527421Looks comfy
>>558527758Nothing.Then again you can just spam torches and be fine or surround it with a simple fence.
>>558527758my villager camp is a bunch of beds and job blocks surrounded by a wall. I've seen youtube videos where they trap villagers in 1block enclosures, but I don't have the autism for that. My setup works well enough because they go to their job block during the middle of the day anyways.
>>55842617895% of the time I build the whole thing in Creative first, planning out everything down to small decorations and the randomness of "block vomit" textures, and then use FastAsyncWorldEdit's //distr command to get a list of blocks that I'm going to need. Then I make detailed screenshots of it and recreate it in Survival. Despite the meticulous planning I still usually end up changing up small details though. The exceptions to this are usually underground rooms where I don't need to care about matching the interior with an exterior, or really simple tiny outposts that I sometimes build during exploration.
I love building diagonal bridges
>>558453461>>558454386They should have kept 8px heads but made their bodies 6px instead, that way their proportions wouldn't be retarded but also the eyes wouldn't look weird
>>558500917I was always restarting because of changes to worldgen, or wanting to try different mods, and I was never really into building, I'd always just have a wooden shack at the start of the game, then tunnel down and dig out a cave underneath to put everything. The idea of having a world where I did build big stuff and would transform it over years seemed appealing, so I made one - but it was on an old version with all the old mods I used to play with, and I quickly beat the game and all the mods and got bored, so I decided I'd try again but on the latest version, and so I have. This world I'm enjoying a lot more.
I played Hytale for a few weeks when it came out and although I liked it I have since returned back to Minecraft. I wanted to check how it has been going and whether they've added anything cool, but there isn't even a Hytale general anymore. Is it over?
>>558541743Don't worry, the next big update in 2029 will save it
>>558533859Beds are actually pretty helpful because they restore villager health. In a 1x1 cell, if a villager takes damage for any reason, eventually it'll die from accumulated injuries.
>>558378981Dripstone grows super slowly, and you need water above the support block so it can be quite fiddly. I'm guessing you're just missing some component. Glowberry vines can stop growing randomly (just like kelp), which is why you see them reach different heights. Just punch out the lowest part of the vine and it should start growing again. You can also stop the growing manually by right-clicking with shears, so that could be why. Again, just punch out the lowest part and it should start growing again. Or use bonemeal
>>558536385you should put an arch in the middle so you dont have bigass pillars going all the way down into the deepest part of the river
>>558426178I tend to start by drawing something on a piece of paper, or take a screenshot of an area and draw over it in Paint. Then I figure out some things in creative, like what blocks to use and certain elements of the build. I never finish a build in creative, though, as it's more fun to build it in survival after I've decided on the general concept. That way I get to solve some issues on the fly, and don't just feel like I'm 3D printing the result
>>558552015That river is fairly shallow and not navigable anyway
Does anyone know any smp servers that allows griefing to some extent? I hate when you enter a server and you can't break anything because some fag claimed a chunk of land. You have to walk miles to get started.
I'm a little annoyed. I crafted an item called a "Respawn Anchor," I put glowstone into it and it just exploded and killed me instantly. Why would devs make a item that griefs the player?
>>558556880Back in my day the game didn't hold your hand at all and we looked up how things work on the Minecraft wiki instead of asking stupid questions.
>>558558104I read it and figured it out, but that's so fucking stupid.
>>558556880For the lolz. Because beds explode in the nether as you can't sleep when there's no day or night, so do respawn anchors in the overworld, since they serve the same purpose as beds but in the nether. To be honest, I wish they removed this mechanic. It's funny, but it is abused to get explosives way more powerful and way cheaper than TNT, makes new players lose their items in the fire and it's oudated quirky humor (ur calculator explodes if u divide by zero XD).
Do you use slave labor?
>>558569785how does that work? do you still have to run through and break all the crops?
>>558570035Farmer villagers will harvest crops and attempt to give them to other villagers. In this setup, those other villagers are placed in a way that when the farmers try to give them crops, the crops fall into hoppers and are put into chests instead. It is completely automatic. On second look, as i'm not that anon, it looks like he's using an allay to collect the crops instead. Other designs use hoppers, but i like this anon's maximum slave style.
>>558569785No, but I want to. Can't be arsed to get an allay, though
>>558570191I have a similar farm to >>558569785 in my world. The way this kind works is that farmers will pick up crops until their own inventory is full, and then start dropping newly picked crops on the ground. The allays pick up these dropped crops and drop them at the note block in the center, where they fall into the hoppers below.
>>558570035Nope, it's fully automated. To be honest I looked up the general concept in a tutorial on Youtube, although the specific implementation is my own.The way it works is that villagers harvest and immediately replant crops, but their inventory is full, and they can't get to their composter workstations because they are blocked off by the trapdoors (the villagers are too tall to fit under them). So the surplus harvest can't be picked up by the villagers and just stays on the ground until allays collect it. There are four sections, four crops, four villagers, four allays, but all feed into the same sorting system. Since recently wheat is filtered out down the hopper line and crafted into hay blocks for storage efficiency.
>>558570328Once you find a Pillager outpost with some allays you just give them a random item and they will follow you. They are pretty fast and will generally keep up with you even as you ran or sail. And these outposts generate all over the place from deserts to cold biomes so it should be trivial to find one. You can just break into the holding cage which is usually outside and just make a run for it.
>>558569785Yes, but only for trades. I really should set up an automated wheat farm, though. Haybales are pretty expensive, and I need a lot to make target blocks
>>558578631I've been doing a lot of exploring with my Elytra and villages always have huge stacks of haybales. You can stockpile so many of them that you don't even need to farm wheat anymore.
>>558579502When you need hundreds or even thousands of target blocks, it would be a whole lot nicer to get it passively and for free rather than needing to put any manual effort into it, plus you could use it for villager trading with no real downside, combine it with carrots or potatoes or something and you can trade with farmer villagers for twice as many emeralds each time compared to blacksmith or weaponsmith villagers and their iron trades.

>>558597178must've had an enchantment or twothere's a lot of easy ways to earn emeralds, my favourite being 16 sticks for 1 emerald trade, also you can make villagers drop their prices a lot by zombifying and curing them so no matter how high the prices may be you have a lot of ways to make that system irrelevant very quickly
Unless you're playing on a server, Minecraft is a solo players journey and no one else's. The fact this general manages to sometimes stay up and remain active, barely, is shocking. If you ever wonder why this general isn't more active then you're just down right retarded or you've never played the game, begging the question why are you here complaining about the inactivity of a general you share no interest in?Everything there has ever been to discuss with Minecraft has been discussed thousands of times before, new content is very slow and rarely adds anything worth mentioning outside of the possible advantages something might have to redstone or other farms. I do play on a server and I talk to other server members about what we do on said server, there's no reason for me to talk about any of that here because none of you would care as you're not part of it. As for my single player worlds, the same applies. None of you are part of that, so why would anyone care to know every step of my single player journey? Some of you might, but surely not enough to post every few hours to maintain this threads life spanThe general comes and goes, we die and come back to life whenever we feel like it. Sometimes I wonder if the people questioning stuff like this are even aware to the brain rot that gacha generals have had on them. No one ever cared about popularity, speed or post/player counts at all before they ran rampant within /vg/ but now it's always the main topic of concern like we can do anything to keep up with the literal mental unwell people that plague those threads and exist only to cause grief and turmoil every waking moment of their livesWe have it good here, whether we die or live doesn't matter. What matters is we're not a gacha general and thank fuck for that

How many people, how experienced, how much do you guys play etc and whether you have big projects that you build together. Also it might be just fun to showcase the builds you (helped) made. Sometimes when I'm playing alone I get the feeling of "oh nobody's gonna see it, sad".

Which is your favourite biome to make a base in?I think I want to make a base in the badlands someday.
>>558599845Everything you said implies that I should be fully conscious of anonymous people's thoughts at all times. People like you may be interested to know those things, but it never once crosses my mind to think "let me stop what I'm doing to let the people of /mcg/ know exactly what I've been up to"I don't mind posting an update of a build I'm proud of from time to time, but the amount of actual time I have to play and work on something like that isn't a lot. Often times when I get the time to play I just want to chill out with people on the server I'm on as well, it's not interesting to talk about. We're essentially an information general that's solely based on the development of the game itself, we try to maintain it by updating strangers what we've been up to but it just isn't enough and honestly I'm fine with that. The fact still remains that if gacha games had their actual own general, not /vmg/ due to how many popular gacha games have mobile at the back of their mind focusing on PC releases, then we wouldn't have this issue that many other slow paced generals also haveAt this point I'm just complaining for complaints sake so I'll leave it there and maybe post an update on something I've been working on over the past few weeks

>>558598836Holy shit, calm your tits. I'm more or less a tourist on /mcg/ (and /vg/ in general) but I have been playing Minecraft for over 14 years, or about half of my life at this point. The "it's my solo journey therefore nobody else should care" mindset is just stupid, you can always share your experiences, show off your builds, ask for feedback, look at other people's work for inspiration, discuss ideas, mechanics, playstyles, strategies, game versions, news and so on, as people have been doing in these threads and on the internet in general for the past 15+ years. That the game is old and updates are slow is beside the point, It's a sandbox with limitless things to do no fixed ways of doing them, you can always discuss something. I frequently talk about Minecraft with my multiplayer friend even during periods of time when we don't play the game for months. The reason I posted >>558588364 first and foremost was to just bump the thread to prevent it from archiving. It wouldn't be the end of the world if it died prematurely, sure, but it would be a bit of a shame because I like to check on these threads periodically and look at what others have been up to or if I have anything I can contribute. I don't feel the need to document my every step in the game, but I enjoy sharing some of the things I've made or looking at what other people have made. And I'm not saying that there MUST be active discussion 24/7, it's more that I'm just a bit surprised that there isn't, because in my time on /mcg/ I've seen that people here clearly have a lot to discuss and share, just like in Minecraft communities elsewhere. I don't know or care what goes on in those gacha threads, and thus don't know or care how or why they keep their threads active and how it compares to this one.

>>558656050I never used clay before because of how hard it was to gather a lot of, but an hour in a lush cave and I have several shulker boxes full. Still, it's nice that there is a renewable option available
Diff anon. I'm doing this too in order to make terra cotta simply to use up the excess dirt that I have. Little by little. Also making mud brick.
Is this really more desirable than giving us a reasonable respawn mechanic?>refuse to allow for post-generation spawning because it would be OP>give just enough for some of the easiest fully automatic farms
>>558662503Think of the normal players that don't want to deal with respawning shulkers in the already difficult end cities.
>>558662503They're only easy to build, not to design. Having shulkers duplicate when hit with a shulker bullet, with the success rate depending on the number of nearby shulkers, is a pretty specific requirement. Especially since shulker can teleport away when they take damage, and that they'll eventually die from too much damage
how can I stop spiders from climbing and getting stuck at random places? there is a water elevator at the back 1x3 and a water source on top flowing down
>>558666610I don't think you can, really. Best you can do is use trapdoors or slabs to lower the ceiling to where the spider hitbox always touch the water. That won't stop them from trying to climb, but it will make sure they reach the destination

>>558693552They really want to associated the warden and deep dark with redstone, huh
>>558695083Looks like the designers had to pick a mob for each subject, the warden seems the most appropriate for redstone, given that he's made of skulk, a redstone component, and the ancient city has redstone stuff even outside of the hidden redstone tutorial room. Unless you want to count the agent from education edition or the redstone golem from dungeons, the warden is the best pick. If the copper golem won and was implemented as a button pusher, it would have probably appeared here instead.>>558693552Some interesting creative decisions, the tamed wolf's eyes are outlined and don't include the white pixel above, implying it's not part of the eye, and why is there a cat there?
>>558656050>azalea trees >lush caveshaven't seen those yet
>>558697553That's basically my issue: the warden only represents the sculk, which is the real target. Wardens don't, in and by themselves, have any redstone use. A breeze would have made more sense, since they actually interact with buttons, trapdoors and the like, and drop wind charges which do the same. Trial chambers also feels more redstone-y than ancient cities ever did to me
