A neat trick if you need it is that you can press Q to switch to another character, the worms mostly spit at the one you're controlling so if Endmin gets low just switch to Chen/Pog so you don't lose characters for no reason

All OS love high IOPS for responsiveness.In my experience when the OS or an App/Game sends a request to a drive and it is unresponsive or already fully loaded it just freezes until it gets it turn or times out, happens a lot less with SSDs. Since your PC seems to be mid range i doubt its the HDD thats causing the stuttering, but my point is that I cant imagine going to >20 second boot times, etc.
