>>558400562It's a weird gun with a bunch of bad quirks that's still kind of funny every now and then.It has terrible ergo, always defaults to lowest ROF whenever you respawn with it, is cumbersome to manage with its multiple weapon wheel options, and somehow has a 4x Combat Scope option for some stupid reason while also outright denying you an Iron Sights option which is literally the one thing it needs to be decent. But the Volley fire mode is funny and sometimes pretty good, because you're doing almost 600 damage per shot which is basically M90A tier damage but with super tight spread.All they need to do to make it decent is give it a slight ergo bump, an Iron Sights option and maybe even underbarrel options including Angled Foregrip, and have it remember your fire mode choices between respawns. And yeah, maybe reduce the drag a bit so that you can actually benefit from the scope options for shooting faraway targets.

Being able to one-shot Hulks with eye shots is very excellent, as is destroying AA and Mortar Emplacements with half a magazine apiece. It's primarily a very strong medium killer (headshotting Overseers is very satisfying) while also being able to plink AP4 weak spots and destroy smaller buildings and large enemy subsystems (Factory Strider chin guns, Vox Engine side gatlings). But if you do bring one, you'll need a solution for spawners and various other obstacles that require explosive force.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason they struggle to make large objects feel heavy is because they're accidentally using PhysX for certain aspects of the physics sim. They're using Havok for some things, but the fact that they can't seem to make heavy objects "heavy" makes me believe that they're using PhysX to handle inertial interactions between rigid-bodies, because PhysX is used by default in Stingray unless you override it with functions from another physics sim, and because PhysX's simulations for inertia and gravity tend to become inaccurate and glitch-prone when you assign bodies mass values that are too high.I think when AH were trying to make objects heavier during development they realised that it caused too many physics glitches. So instead of realising that they needed to change these functions to use Havok's simulation, they just gave up and assigned everything a really low mass to avoid the problem and avoid having to do more work, so everything feels like it weighs nothing.
