I've arrived at the conclusion that new astrograph is straight up useless compared to the original astrograph, the only thing it has on the old one is that it adds the majishi name to it so it can be affected by Amazing Pendulum and Pendulum Call two cards that are only run at 1 in Pendulum Magician decks because of how restrictive they are, Pendulum Call especially since Master Rule 4 Pendulum decks have switched to self destruction as an advantage rather than a deterrentOverall it's a very strange card that I really wonder why they made it this way since Astrograph Sorcerer is not only legal it's Limited and Unleashed now due to how much the power gap has shifted, why did they make a weaker version of it when there's not even a need to ban the original anymore? it's honestly really confusing me, Horoscope and Heavenly Odd Eyes aren't much to write home about either but that's less on them and more on the circumstances of pendulum in general.

I see the idea, I guess. HERO was originally the premiere Super Poly deck, with an Omni HERO for every element but Divine. The Evil HERO support even straight up searched Super Poly. The problems were that a) a lot of the Omni Heroes require an ELEMENTAL Hero when you mostly end on the others and b) six (6) ED slots was absurd. So in come the Favorite HEROes as more generic targets you can... well okay you probably won't OTK, but they're still doing more for you than fucking Nova Master or Great Tornado. Cheat out Favorite Flame Wingman with Flame Wingman IR's bonus effect, then super poly him off for Favorite Shining Flare Wingman. You could even go the extra mile and use Favorite Contact on Shining Flare Wingman and Neos and actually make Shining Neos Wingman properly!Or you could end on Dark Law and Plasma and actually win. What do you call it when Konami is trying really, really hard to get players to do a thing, but the players refuse because that thing sucks ass?

Now that they're all out, I messed around with Judai.dek and it's... okay? It's not doing a thing competitively, but the new Wingmans combined with Evil HERO add actual recursion while the new WK searches any fusion if you couldn't fit a search into your combo.The reason people stuck with the Vision/Destiny cards for so long is the consistency they gave. Giving that all up sucks, but your turn is more interesting now. The Masked Heroes aren't as consistent, but they give you bodies and poly searches. Fountain in particular goes above and beyond and can unbrick you sometimes. Dead-End is your only foolish, so you'll probably use it on Shadow Mist. So you need a different way to get Sinister Necrom into GY, which thanks to all the disacrds and searches is surprisingly possible. Or WK into Dark Fusion if you draw him. The gameplan is basically>Evil HERO combo into Infernal Wing, search the negate or Toxic Bubble if you need the draws>use Infernal Devicer to search Neos>fuse into Sunrise, add Miracle Fusion, make Wonder Driver, fuse into Flame Wingman IR, add Favorite Contact and reset the most useful fusion spell, tribute Flame Wingman IR for Favorite Flame Wingman>activate Infernal Rider in GY to set super poly>next turn you super poly Flame Wingman and one enemy monster into Shining Flare Wingman, shuffle back 5 to draw 2, and either reset Miracle Fusion or super poly again>then you favorite contact Shining Flare and Neos into Shining Neos Wingman to pop 3>on your turn you fuse Shining Flare Wingman again, shuffle back 5 to draw 2 again, then activate Dark Supremacy and Infernal Rider in GY to recover cards from banishment and Dark FusionYou've now reset your deck and are free to fuse into either Malicious Bane for a field wipe or Neos Lord for a steal. Since we basically know all the hero overframes my overall thoughts.If mitsurugi isn’t dealt with the new link 2 witch is by far the best new card since it’s a generic link 2 bridge into full mitsu combo with no locks. It’s literally the closed moon to fiendsmith pipeline for mitsurugi. Don’t think the other 2 vrains cards are doing much.Yuya wins most improved archetype. The new astrograph and time gazer retrains are legit absurd in the context of its own deck and makes the whole deck runs far better. New odd eyes sucks though.New utopia is a 5k goyo but we already had lightning for a generic r4 with 5k attack and this really isn’t much better other than needing one less ed slot. New gagaga is gonna be annoying in onomat since it’s k9 lantern for a deck that already has too much gas as it is. New girl is pure sex art wise but not that good as a handtrap.Yusei has the most overrated and underrated card in the set. New stardust is great protection from cards like ash for any must resolve cards and even if you get nibbed you get a stardust warrior. White albaz makes getting it out absurdly easy. New trap is overrated, the speeder combos are too impractical for normal play and most decks probably aren’t going to want to run a synchron brick just for this if they weren’t already running one for other reasons. Star junk is just junk 2, but got screwed by not counting as og junk synchron. Hot take: new flame wingman will be seen a ton (more than all the other overframes)because it’s as generic as garura and mudragon for super poly. That being said this does nothing for the hero deck and they just slapped hero art on some random generics. Super poly should be hit down to 1 if new winged kuriboh sees play.
