I don't know how I'll react if they keep focus mode in the next portable game. It's such a big departure for the series. Previously you'd have to spend a good amount of time learning timings and positioning yourself correctly to be able to pull off stuff like 180 degree turns during combat. Then in fifth gen they made it so you could do it during certain moves but now in wilds you can just mash essentially without learning anything. What the fuck would this even make monhun going forward? If they don't have to account for the downtime of turning to face the monster during combat they're now free to make monsters even faster which shitters already complain about so ironically this only hurts the people it was intended to help in the end. In theory it could lead to a really action oriented almost dmc/bayo-like kind of game but I wonder if where we're heading will still feel like monhun in the end.

I'm picking up my character after a bit (I really only play in the City) and I'm in the village and I've completed every available quest up through daimyo, and none of the NPCs have any bubbles.
