Chaos;Head has been a bit of a chore to read through. I've definitely enjoyed substantial parts of it and it explored some ideas that I thought were interesting to read about.I have some criticisms of the delusion choice system. I think once you get a delusion (at least the ones that are actually delusions), you know that what's happening is not real and so it's a bit hard to care. Some of them have a prophetic element or some kind of foreshadowing which is interesting, though. I think it would have been better for there to have been something at stake here, such as certain delusions giving you a bad ending, though that might require reworking the story a bit.I finished the two normal endings and I'm currently in the heroine "routes", and that is the primary chore I'm experiencing. I read Yua's first and that was definitely a disappointment. Currently in Ayase's. I'll finish the game and give a final rating this weekend probably.

I don't know if I can describe this as well as I used to be able to since I haven't read the game in quite a while, but the dream world in the game has a mechanic that allows a person to reset in the real world to their moment of death, or more specifically to the moment they were going to die, which is detailed with what's going on with Kyousuke trying to block the gas leak on the bus. When Riki woke up in the hospital he was able to reset to that point. Saya's moment of death was in the landslide after she returned to Japan as a teenager, so there was no way for her to reset back to her childhood before she left Japan. It's like with Sasami's cat, it can't reset to before it got lost. Likewise Kengo couldn't stop the archery girl from killing herself (she's already dead at the start of the game which is why the suicide fence is on the roof), and Kud's mother is still dead.
