alot of people hit 290 (or 295) and then put focus into legion mules and other things, for the average player 290 is a good stopping point because the gap from 290-295 is insane and the juice isn't worth the squeeze basically just wait and play other characters is a better strat and use of time at that point.

I hit 295 and completely stopped training that character because level 300 takes so long by the time I hit level 300 there will probably be an exp crunch and some kind of hyper super giga mega burn coupon that boosts you to level 300 so I'm not going to spend 2-3 years turbo sending for 10 hours a day for something that will be free in a few years anyway, and I'm a sweat, so I imagine 290 is basically the "yep im absolutely done for now" for alot of people and they either take a break and just boss or start juicing up a second character.

something that occurred to me while doing dailies is just how mind-numbingly boring grinding is. mushroom game has always been grindy but in the past there was at least some depth to it due to differences between the classes, like archers going for enemies they could snipe without taking damage or some maps being optimized for party play. nowadays every class just grinds by themselves with their anus balls in the same maps based on which one has the most mobs spawning. i guess this appeals to the autistic korean spirit or something but i can't help but feel that sacrificing gameplay variety at the altar of homogenization was a bad idea. then again they at least managed to avoid ending up in a situation where paying some guy with inaccessible legacy gear to come increase your spawns is considered part of core gameplay like in gms reg. i have no idea how they didn't either keep frenzy available for everyone or remove it from everyone instead of creating this mess, nor do i know how the players put up with it but i guess reginalds are a special breed.

anyway that concludes my essay on why grinding sucks ass and why i don't blame people for leaving it to juan or a bot. hopefully one day they'll just cut out the middleman and officially transition into dailystory. i'm already there and just waiting for the meta to catch up to me. might play some classic in the meantime assuming nexon won't mess that up too.

my kanna was at 210 while my hayato was 260 from the night troupe exp share, took about a week to get it strong enough to comfortably one shot cernium, since it had literally no gear at all grabbed janus, finished half the quest just doing dailies and then grinded out the rest (I did have fz for the grind)
enjoyed it enough to make it a ctene mule and maybe a champ especially after that lil bit of starting investment anyways

you get 2 hours by default each week so its 36 hours of afking this week and next week and the week after its a full 60 hours
the exp is meh I woulda put hayato on there instead probably but any bit helps pushing the renny towards 285, should have already been zooming with the 280 epic dungeon thanks inkwell

What would '2-2-2' and 'swap ball' mean in the context of kalos? I just did my first nkalos party run, and although I know the mechanics of the fight, and it went off without a hitch, I don't know the lingo.

2-2-2 is referring to the burst order in p2 of kalos being two people will burst each segment and the rest will not burst, assuming everybody is strong enough its a very easy run going test to test without playing much of the mechanics

swap ball I haven't heard of before but my guess its referring to the bottom system ball and taking turns shooting the spot to cleanse the ball because the same spot can only be hit once and takes a bit to come back up and you don't wanna be all shooting the same spot

I don't play heroic so I'm not sure how all the pug parties go but in my early party runs we'd let people know what order to burst in and its mainly based on their strength, just depends how close it is
it less matters post 3min change when you had to balance 2min and 3min classes bursting
well you can tell they're bursting if they use origin I suppose but otherwise you'd have to know the other classes skill animations pretty well
it should have been called out prior to the run who was doing what segment, with 2min bursts I think doing 3 ppl bursting per segment is fine but yeah idk
hopefully they were shooting not at the same ball spot then and shooting the like 3 closest to kalos in mid, but you can hit all of them from mid I think its just a matter of angle
I haven't done much real mechanic party play of kalos yet, I just solo nkalos in like 10mins and I can't really find anybody who wants to sweat out a ckalos duo with me just yet

you need to call your position first, when you're with randos people don't really care about the order that much, Nkalos usually doesn't need origin at p1 just normal burst and wait for the cd before phasing, in Ckalos 2-3 will ori p1 since the origin will be available again at that phase, also, for Ckalos you don't phase after the burst, you leave it close to the test and wait for the cd, clearing systems in the meantime then phase when all the cds are up.

I think say 6 months is too long for it to take to release more than victoria island, it needs to be like 1-2 months for aqua at the very least

i wonder if the plasma heart thing could become a template for how to solve the issue of spares in reboot? essentially events would include some sort of a relatively difficult challenge like soloing ekaling and clearing it would give you the opportunity to buy a couple of pitched spares for meso. it wouldn't completely devalue the gear and would still require for players to achieve it through their own efforts, just with hands instead of rng. it would also naturally favor endgame players who should have all that gear sorted out already in preparation for the new brilliant set they're rolling out.

I did my first boss party and just cleared my first Hard Lotus run. The fight was smooth. We cleared in about 5 mins with 1-2 deaths. However, during the run and in the loot room, some party members typed things I didn’t understand:

R means READY, people will say R when they are buffed up and ready to enter the boss, or they will say R if you are coordinating burst for certain parts of the boss and their cooldowns are back up

201 is how much drop rate they have, whoever has the highest drop rate breaks the box

2-1 was probably a mistype they tried to type 201, but in later bosses with multiple segments 2-1 would mean "phase 2 segment 1".

eg. in kalos there are 2 phases, in phase 2 kalos hp bar is broken into 4 segments and at each threshold a mini event happens you need to survive (people call these "tests"), so people say anon you burst 2.3 which means you need to have all your burst ready for the 3rd segment of phase 2.

Nu-maple is just 2,000 interactive players and 8000 reboot players. There's already 20k subs to classic maple pre-release so add in returners and tourists that's at least a good 50k online day 1 if you want to low-ball it realistically that's 5x the current population. If it's 100k launch over 10x current pop. Interactive is the failed pay2win pserver with a low population of cultists and reboot is the popular f2p alternative to the shit pay2win pserver. When classic comes out the reason for these two to exist disappears as well. Everyone will flock over to classic once they see it's 100k online and they are stuck in a dead as shit pserver competing with like 100 daily players. I can in pre-big bang and plan to in classic but nu-gayple it's not worth it. There's no way to compete with MVP blacks on heroic, hell it's tough to even out grind MVP golds since they get kinship ring and some good sauna hours/weekly skips for more grind time.
Once you get to endgame the only thing left is to quit anyway no one's going to be playing forever so may as well take it slow enjoy the ride.

idk yea I play eh atleast 6 hours a day most days? I guess I compare it to myself when I was doing like 10 hour grinding sessions + everything else back in my kronos days
but boss crystals didn't exist so it was just grind but either way I just consider everything I don't do
I don't run daily bosses for cubes on any character, I barely run gollux ever except for currently on renny in cw and hayato on main world, and blaze wizard and wind archer, these characters still need gollux scrolls
I do tallahart daily on main and arcane dailies + grandis on hayato + arcane weeklies
I run one monster park on hayato, 7 runs on sunday with reward points
I do all weeklies and max out all events usually
giving an mpe to hayato and the 2nd goes to bishop usually, mpe in cw
I give high mountain to hayato and buy the stage 1 exp for 7500 maple points looks like I'll hit 268 with time to spare for the transcendent potions, might even hit 269 and not need both of them and push towards 275
I give angler to renny in cw and don't buy any extra
sac dailies on renny
mystic frontier on main and renny
I do not do guild castle cache stuff
I do one 30min grind on the main currently and I cap event procs in like 15mins on fz, if I feel like doing more I do but its pretty much just 30mins

quitting once you hit end game is a heroic problem only in my opinion, I saw it too when I hit end game there and realized that yeah there's fuck all to do
to me at least there's a reason to keep playing at end game in reg and that's a bigger part of why I am here
I'm pretty happy with life in reg generally

oh yea blaze wizard and wind archer most days I dont bother running gollux and thats why they arent done yet, renny is done except I started working on a rein ring so I need some more scrolls and was just running to sell spares of gollux mostly
idk yea there's a huge hexa difference between reg and heroic but I think I'm just doing whats most optimal for dmg in my server type, its unbalanced for sure because say kms frags are 7mil each and it seems like max hexa isn't something you do willy nilly there meanwhile my main is max hexa and my bishop is almost max too except janus
if I wanted to do a unlibbed bm solo my best shot is my hayato but generally I feel like I'm kneecapping my progression to go for that, I'd need to sit around for a bit and get more arcane force just seems like a waste of time to go for it at this point
if inkwell doesn't do a gene pass for cw3 I'll probably have enough time to do one on there

It's still 7 years of dailies or paying up on reg to get self-sufficient and can be done in like two years on heroic so I still think heroic is better. The way heroic works now is everything is time/meso/effort based so like why do 29min vchilla for the 700mil crystal when you can run down 5min each hlomien for 800mil on 3 bulers in that time. Koreans had no answer to this or how to fix it so they just axed the whole server overnight. Imagine if you were just playing KMS boot for fun and to stay updated. Still wouldn't choose reg, classic is basically the same game except less diluted and less about wallet flexing.

you played in pre-bb just like me should we start saying we've been playing for 15 years, only thing that matters that I got back in 2017ish was my legacy pottable badge on NL and bishop and my perm teleport rock I bought for 50 bucks from the big duper coupon seller at the time (when you use a coupon that is duped it becomes a new item and there's no way to trace it apparently)
starting in current time period always results in the fastest prog ever its just how the game works
I don't think anybody says to do mincut runs for everything every week
people are willing to mincut end game bosses because there's no choice and its worth it but for everything else the choice is just get stronger or you will go nuts
all of my ctene mules are like sub 10mins
I def was getting a lil burnt out on bossing when I was working on libbing multiple characters at once but im pretty good these days
the boss cd reset room really helped out in making these mules take way less time
its not like im doing normal seren and easy adversary and easy kalos on my ctene mules which they are in spec for but its just not quick runs and I don't get anything out of it except ring box chances and a lil crystal cash
grandis bosses in reg do not drop CUBES which is absolutely INSANE for the future of this game
but yeah I'm mostly raising up hayato this patch because its busted, I have fun playing it, and there's fuck all else to do this patch so its something to do and its not like im capped on crystals
progression early game is simply much more satisfying for sure but it helps out my entire account and I don't think I'm spreading myself too thin
printed 2 ET's this week from whisper crystals, printing another 2 after boss reset and then 3 more the following boss reset
one of those being in cw which idk if I can sell it for extra cash there or not but whatever + my like 10bil in crystals a week

optimal setup is red 20% boss option + meister smithing (5% crit damage) + 30 stat for 30 minutes potion of your type + a candy apple + vip red buff when its in season + mvp if you have it + sayrams + collectors + aurelia's door + legion red + your legion champion buff that you have to earn every month at the dragon farm + guild aura + ursus
and obviously your guild buffs
you can also have 1 att thing whether thats apple or the +30 for 15 minute christmas buffs

there's the golden dragon questline which gives a title that gives a skill buff that gives attack called concentration

honestly like, what is buffmaxing even good for except for sweatiest min clears known to man, and even then you have to be crazy to do that every week

bosses at higher levels have a lot of hp and its not that hard to put all these buffs together
you should do your best to fill as many of these boxes as you can because your party and guild are counting on you and if everyone didnt buff then society would be unliveable like how returning your shopping cart works

using a legacy buff is pretty iffy is the main thing even for hkaling mission, you can squeak out the damage regardless fairly well even with using annoying 1 a day buffs
we don't even have practice mode destiny missions yet with the practice legion raid buffs
but mainly if you use the wilderness buff now you are just gonna wish you hadn't and saved it when you get to part 2 destiny lib so its like eh

I have different parties for all my hard grandis bossing and pretty much everybody has averaged out in terms of their eternals luck except me. Hell the gimp in my hlimbo party finished 22 limbo eternals this shining while I am something like 1/14.
I had 400b this shining and hit nothing. I had 8 eternal pieces that boomed 18->19. I used all 3 of my pities on 3 pitched pieces (crystal, pitched core, boss trace points), 2 boomed before 20, 1 boomed 21 to 22. I sent another half inventory of lv 140 fodder and nothing hit 23. I tapped my spare 22 superior ring and it boomed first tap.
Feels like shit seeing everybody get stronger while I am just walled by luck

I just got more exp from the three free VIP sauna tickets in 1 hour 30 mins than in a whole month of idling 50 hours in the NLM Duo. Might be the worst event in the past 2 years hands down. I know the exp ramps up towards the end but it'll still be at most like 5 hours of vip sauna on the final week. They should've just done a champ burning + mini games + punch king off season event.

Unless they change heroic to be playable again in this hexa frags meta I think everyone will just hop on over to classic. Definitely more active than Kronos. Still 4 years to max hexa on one character means heroic is basically stuck in 2023 forever and none of the new updates change anything or help out heroic. Even with the arcane box changes, they still barely drop and you'll be seeing an average of 1 box a month after years of making ctene mules. It still takes half a year to get a mule from nlomien thru to hlomien - luwill - ctene. There's pretty much no point in playing since everything you do is just to increase your weekly income and gamble it off for 0 gains. I have to constantly remind people that the game was 500 players online on steam before Reboot came out. The only reason people came back to play Reboot is because they thought they're remaking classic MapleStory by "rebooting" it, but ended up staying because of free cubes and f2p friendly gameplay. Now that Reboot is no longer f2p friendly everyone will flock to the newest f2p friendly alternative which will be Classic. Everyone will leave this raped corpse of a game for something that always was, and will continue to always be better than anything released in the past 15 years of nu-gayple.

Why would people hop over to Classic? It's an entirely different game and feel. People will try out it but return back to playing modern maple.
The nostalgia fags and people who actually want to play Classic who are playing Worlds rn will play Classic .

Zakum and Horntail are always worth doing and give good drops and exp. 3 hr min cut is still harder than anything in nu-maple since it's longer and only 1 life while in nu-maple its 30 mins tops and gives you 5-10 lives +2 from door/elixir. If you're not actively using potions you're dying out, if you're not actively moving around avoiding stun pillars or not allcuring status ailments your dpm drops.
