VF always gives you reasons to interact with your opponent. even with a life lead it prbably isn't optimal to stand there doing nothing. tekken mostly on accident ended up with a ssystem that lets you be non commital all the time but they couldn't think of a way to fix that besides canned mixups. they didn't think about why tekken is the only game that lests you block and backdash at the same time.

Some characters might have slightly worse gameplay (Lidia), some characters might be worse in the VFX department (really only Clive), some might be uglier (Paul), but as a whole he is consistently bottom 3 dogshit in every single fucking aspect. Absolutely insufferable character to see in movement, to play against, to play with, just pure fucking trash in every possible facet.
