It's the 5th race of Elves and they already struggle to do anything with Nightborne. The time for Haranir to be introduced in the story was an expansion ago, they missed their chance by pushing it back and forcing K'aresh as the ending of War Within. Now their zone, their race, and their storyline just feels out of place in Midnight. I'm also personally biased in the fact I'd much prefer Talanji's VA to actually be voicing Talanji so the Zandalari can be more involved in the plot, than Orewyna for a new allied race.

The campaign formula is what doomed this game's story, mainly because it forced the game to have one. Prior to Cata, this game had no structured story. There were themes and quest chains but none of it was structured into a main scenario. Like there was now campaign quest line leading you to BT or Icecrown

Since WoD they've cemented the campaign formula with the "this is whats happening and why we're doing this" and its been to game's detriment because now people are forced to pay attention to the game's writing and story, mainly because FF14 brain rotted everyone.

TBC's "story" made absolutely no sense yet people glaze that expansion and people tug off Arthas' "story" despite his agency as a character ending after WC3 and he does basically nothign but be evil in WOTLK

Arator was called "The redeemer" even back in TBC mezten clearly had plans for him.
His is the Child of two core WC2 characters, he has foot in both factions and is thus not a slap in the face to either, He's a male human Paladin who wears the colors of the horde.


Anduin SHOULD BE a background character no more im portant than velen, He is just the king of stormwind, son of the previous king of strormwind. And he should be getting married and making another king of stormwind. And the sotry becoming increasingly focused on him was a mistake from the get go because he is an UNAVOIDABLY alliance anchored character. He's the fucking King of stormwind, he cannot be the center of the story.

Arator allows the story to include the horde in practice not just in game. Arator can walk into Orgrimmar and call the Horde to war and have it be sensible.
