So I finally want to talk a bit about the overall mod I've been working on. Back when I was still doing things in P5 I had wanted to make a Devil Survivor themed mod where you play a small section of the calendar and had an ultra focused + easily replayable gameplay loop. When I got far enough along to do something similar in Metaphor, and this will still probably be a rerelease mod by the time it's done, I thought of Elden Ring Nightreign and thought it would be cool to get some of the urgency of that except single player + you get to stop and tinker with what options you have to work with. Then I also thought about Bloodborne and the severely gutted Dragonrot mechanic from Sekiro and I came up with this.Core gameplay is>set in a very fucked up offshoot of metaphor's timeline where everyone is sick>you play a month of the game where your goal is to hunt 6 new bosses in any order you want and work with the Akademeia doctor to synth medicine >you build your party by doing time limited dungeon runs where gear obtained from chests and minibosses are randomized leading up to when your target boss shows up>NPC permadeath, start with all followers' 1st tier archetypes and unlock more by healing them, but can also lose them and will be entirely up to player choice with limited resourcesWill include>heavily rebalanced skills and enemies, exp gain etc. for a way shorter gameplay loop >some existing archetypes will be replaced with different ones, no royals period>bosses will react more to player build decisions and will have different stats based on level >some new gear>some altered map design (will hopefully get easier to do overtime)>story is not a big focus but I do want to do a little bit like scenes for the followers + definitely not Louis in a mask Some of these ideas will probably work better than others in practice but I would definitely like to hear some thoughts. Goal is really to keep the scope as focused as possible.
