But the tradeoff is supposed to be their inability to penetrate body armor and their short barrel making them less accurate at long range. Then people bitched and whined about the Reprimand's spread preventing it from just completely outclassing the AP3 assault rifles, and we had a whole back and forth about that.Here's how SMGs should work as a class:>faster ROF and high damage (regular and durable) AP1 rounds, the K***ht gets to keep its AP2 rounds since it's a PDW and the Reprimand is lowered to AP2 but keeps its absurdly high damage>re-balance all non-medium enemies in the game to have 0 or 1 armor, and any medium enemies with 2 armor have 0 or 1 armor weak spots>same drag and spread as assault rifles, but high recoil so that bullet hosing makes them inaccurate at range, single shot allows them to be used at long range with a good optics attachment>very good ergonomics on all SMGs so that stacking heavy weapon mods doesn't negatively impact them that muchSomething like that. Excel at close range and good at killing chaff, but have weak armor penetration and high recoil makes them worse at long range but not impossible to use if you switch to single shot.
