The Core enemies take a lot of hits on average, even in Genocide, so if you're doing a super duper immersion run where you only kill enemies when it's necessary and justified you'll probably always make their names turn yellow first, which is canonically the monster wanting to stop fighting and the point where the "justified" option is mercy

If deltarune isn't irony poised why does it say that deltarune is waiting when we are the ones who are waiting?
A lot of Deltarune's future twists are predictable by making a few basic inferences. It's been established that Susie has a unique power to defy at least most forms of predestination. This is obviously a problem for Carol and Kris's plan, which is all but stated at the end of chapter 4 to require the final tragedy from the prophecy to happen. So then, why attempt this scheme at all if one of the heroes has the special ability to change fate? Well, because Susie isn't meant to be the girl. The teaser for the end of the prophecy in Susie's dark world centers around the illustration from the "LOVE FINDS ITS WAY TO THE GIRL" panel. Since this is said to be a tragedy, as well as Toby's penchant for subverting player assumptions (this is the dramatic technique he uses that the exaggerated Tricky Tony meme comes from), it's probable that this is referring to LOVE in the Level of Violence sense to at least some extent. I think the final tragedy is the girl being struck down. Regardless of the specifics, this is meant to be Noelle, but Kris and Carol's plan involves swapping the roles of Susie and Noelle, as Susie wouldn't allow an ending where Noelle meets with a terrible fate. Noelle, however, would be less likely to be able to save Susie from such a thing. The switch also allows Carol to spare her other daughter's life. Essentially, Susie has been lured by Kris into being one of the heroes, so they can keep her under control with our unwitting assistance. She can't find out about the conspiracy, because her rage will change the ending and ruin the plan. Kris goes to great lengths to prevent us from figuring out what's going on, because we will inform Susie about it. Ralsei is also complicit, though for his own fatalistic reasons. Kris is clearly having doubts now as they grow a genuine attachment to Susie. Maybe they thought they wouldn't get attached going in because she'd just been a bully before, and imagined it would be the player's bond, not theirs.

Genuine walking sims are hard to play or enjoy. I've put hours into LSD: Dream Emulator (PS1) and there is no objective or narrative at all, and you can see every area in the game in maybe an hour of exploring depending on how fast you figure out the landscape and dedicated travel points. Touching any wall or object in the game will just teleport you to another area. As days progress the game glitches out the textures and music intentionally. The Hat Man walks into you to reset your "glitch" progress randomly so the game isn't a constant horrorshow, but you can just turn 180 and walk away from him instantly when he spawns.
