The train derailment scene feels so out of character when weighed against all of Poppy's other appearances. It's the only time she ever does anything deceitful towards anyone. Every other appearance she's nurturing someone, or she's trying to help, or she's scared or she's depressed. She never again shows that side that the chapter 2 ending shows, and that sucks because that scene is how most people see Poppy as a character. There had to have been better ways of ending the chapter, like having Poppy explain the mission and that she needed our help to save ORPHANS, that would've made sense for both her to do and to motivate us to continue helping her.

Anyone have a good idea for what the movie could be like? I don't think it can be a direct adaptation of the game since the chapter format wouldn't work well in film, the Game Station doesn't really have much narrative use, and Playcare would feel like padding with all it's side locations. A Hour of Joy adaptation where the main goal is just to escape by ascending the factory would be the best bet, I think.

Feel bad for the big girl monster in RE9 because it's entirely possible that she still has the psychology of a child and is more afraid and in agony than anything. And that's the exception in that game. Everyone else turns into a near mindless zombie. Meanwhile that's the rule in these games.

I wish they had more prominence in their own chapter.They would have been perfect for leaning into the cult idea. I mean, they all have that identical build and face, you're begging at that point to suggest that they have some confirmatory and groupthink that's imposed on them from above by CatNap. I don't think they could've done much but just to have them there as a looming prescience around Playcare would've been interesting and creepy. And as you see them watching you you'd notice that DogDay isn't there and that would set up his section for later in the chapter.

Drugs and altered consciousness has been used to keep people in cults before, so it's a proven strategy. They'd be encountered throughout the Playhouse, and would either all be crazy in their own unique way, or act/talk in complete unison like a hive mind. I might use this idea for a fanfic one day, I like it a lot.
