Laevatain is a good example of a main DPS deviating from the fundamentals. For example with supports you're really just looking for characters that apply Vulnerability/Inflictions in an SP efficient way with multipliers being a bonus. Wulfgard and Chen are very good at this which is why they're so good for 5* units. Gilberta isn't as good at this, she just brings generic support multipliers which is why she's largely a small sidegrade to Antal/Xaihi. The funny thing is even when we get Nature teams she'll still be fairly mediocre because her combo skill gives a Vuln stack, not a Nature Infliction. What's the best opening combo when playing Laevatain-Gilberta-Wulfgard-Akekuri? I'm talking about daily sanity farms so Gilberta skill is used early to group.Usually I do Gilberta then cast Akekuri skill before the nature swirl explodes and then Wulfgard combo afterward but this turns everything into combustion so not ideal to absord for Laevatain.
I actually had Cammy and her support clown with max dupes, and still dropped it because they KILLED exploration in 2.0 nand the roguelite mode in 2.1.Game went into the completely wrong direction if you ask me. Regular combat was never the strength. It always felt terrible to go from that to ZZZ, though nowadays ZZZ combat is basically trash as well.No real time combat gacha can manage to keep quality or give quality to begin with when it comes to combat. It's fucking weird. ZZZ was close, but all the things they added past 2.x made the game worse. Miasma removed half the mechanics (stuns which were too weak before already). New chars became more and more invincible so you don't need to worry about defensive play anymore. Now they counter that with a new boss mechanic where you are not allowed to attack and just have to defend. Like you couldn't make this shit up so bad did it get. It's almost a turn based game by now. What's next, the auto button?I REALLY hope this game knows its strengths and weakness' and doesn't fail like all the others do but my god it seems to be hard.
