It's actually easy to build a 99% complete meta deck from an available selection/secret pack on a brand new account in a day or two on a fresh F2P account. It doesn't need any arcane knowledge. It's as simple as pulling from the pack with the highest odds of giving you a UR you need.

Visions is obviously extremely good in Striker but with having to move towards a more quickplay-centric build and being incentivized to cut a lot of stuff like Afterburners, Jamming Waves, and Multirole the deck feels more lacking in some way I have trouble putting my finger on. I guess it's losing a bit of versatility and space for 1-of power cards like Thrust and Black Goat, but I don't know. The vibes are just off with these builds in some esoteric manner.

Can someone redpill me on all the different types of Fiendsmith Engine? I went basic and just got the engine for fuse into fusion man that negates shit but I see builds with Caesar and Necroquip and the link 3. What's the difference? Which do you like better?

Desirae gives you an on-field negate, which some decks prioritize over the more broadly applicable Wave High King Caesar summon negate. It really depends on what your deck is weak to. For instance in Goblin Bikers I prefer Desirae because Goblin Bikers really struggle with board breakers and power spells. They can suck up monsters but can't stop effects, so having a negate really helps. Caesar is more typical though since most stronger decks just want multiple points of interaction. Desirae can negate multiple cards, but most decks can time it so that there's only 1 important effect being negated at a time. As for the Link-3, you use it for cleaning up board states and OTKing. Linking Sequence+Desirae into Agnumday triggers Desirae's effect to send something on the field to the graveyard. Agnumday can also revive a Fiendsmith monster, even in the Battle Phase, so it's basically free if you have the ED space to use it and just want to get in for game. Agnumday also applies piercing damage to whatever it's equipped to.Necroquip is more a card that allows certain engines to go into a Fiendsmith combo without using Lacrima. It was more useful before the main deck Lacrima was released. It still has some niche uses due to the draw effect though.

You already make a negate with Dragoon (and/or Ilia Silvia) and making Caesar leaves more Light Fiends in the grave for followup. Plus this meta is weaker against Caesar than Desirae. IIRC the only K9 main deck cards Desirae can hit is Noroi, while Caesar hits all of them.

I've been playing for about a couple months now and it's my first time playing since 2004, and I still don't know what deck to build. I want to make something for the upcoming Duelist Cup. Any of those 4 decks you mention could definitely hit Stage 2 without too much trouble but also there's no real reward for doing so and you can just get most of the way there to get all the gems I'm pretty sure.I would suggest staying away from Monarchs even though it's not terrible. It's not a fun deck if you're not a sadist and also isn't fun to play against. Artmage is not great but it's OK. Is it still in the store though? Crafting an entire deck is a waste of resources when you can instead use gems then craft to finish off the deck.Blue-Eyes and Radiant Typhoon are definitely the best decks of the 4.
