Hot takeDeadlock desperately needs mana. There's a complete lack of resource management and an entire category of items and effects that are left out. If Victor had to use mana to reincarnate for example, there would be counter play to his ult. Some level of aoe spam would be reduced too. This could also be done through something like charge burn, and have say again, vic's ult, operate by filling charges over time rather than having a CD. If reincarnate only worked at 4 charges and you had 4 default, someone could charge burn you to have some counter play. Charge based items would be more important too, giving a tug of war style of gameplay.Charges are much more simplistic than mana, but the devs seem to like them a lot and at least add a dimension to skills
