It is short however, so it's better to play it as an add-on for a current playthrough, instead of starting another one just to play it. Maybe try it with a bunch of other quest mods, like the Long 15 one (which I haven't played yet either).

One thing I noticed when I played 3 is radiation sucks. It's barely even there. There's not even much loot near barrels and shit to tempt you to go there. They really did good in 4 by making the radstorms, weapons that irradiate you and the whole fucked up polluted region. I mean yes, I know you're carrying 999 rad-x and radaways and it's trivial but just for the novelty.

So it's not like the eastern Legion would've had any qualms with tearing up a child's teddy bear either, that whole instance of karma loss isn't reflective of the Mojave Legion being the tip of the spear, it's reflective of the Legion being deliberately oppressive towards its subjects, which fits the "evil karma" tag.

Tribals are absorbed into the army and settled towns are let to run themselves with expectations of tribute. These towns with their already existing governance are more or less left to run themselves as 'civilians' outside of his army.I will agree with you that the NCR is a conquering force, but the crux is the following points:1. They have created new settlements, rather than conquering existing ones. Camp McCarren, Searchlight, Forlorn Hope, the Aratech Park. They're careful to avoid direct conflict with locals. They only get in a shoot out with the Kings after Pacer starts shit. They refuse to evict the Powder Gangers (their mess) from Primm unless invited in to take control.2. The NCR has won the propaganda war. They have established themselves as the great defense against the barbaric Legion. There are few in the Mojave who will entertain the idea of supporting Legion rule, but they'll let NCR die for them. This translates to a level of acceptance of the shifting tide.

Whatever you think of his philosophy, he clearly intends to reorganize his lands and is unlikely to hold them to a different standard than he does his soldiers. HIs 'synthesis' is the strengths of both and the weaknesses of neither. The strengths of the NCR are their manufacturing capacity, their population growth, and the ability to enforce their will farther than 10ft from their leader. Caesar's will is law in his Legion, but not in every town and settlement. His army has basic swords and spears and football padding as their armor. Imagine if their manufacturing had actual Gladius and Scutum? Sure, it's not as wholly effective against modern firearms, but the overall point stands. Caesar is a "might makes right" post-apoc tribal warlord. His greatest achievements are relative safety(owing to the merciless execution of anyone that breaks even the most minor of laws) and the creation of an loyal fighting force that is able to remain effective despite minimal use of technology including medical aid. However, the vast majority of the population are slaves that live in perpetual fear of the barbaric military class that has the right to abuse them at will. The justification for the legion's atrocities and misuse of power is the simple fact that the legion is responsible for the eradication of raiders. It's hard to see any redeeming qualities in the legion because it wasn't designed to have any, rather it was created to be the foil to the NCR. In reality, the NCR is a corrupt bureaucracy dominated by a exploitative political class, though this is balanced out somewhat by the integrity of many local level politicians and citizens that truly believe in the NCR's vision, a post-war society defined by equality, justice, and safety for all. People suffer as a result of NCR inaction, incompetence, and needless bureaucratic delays, so it is expected the player feel frustrated, disgusted, and disappointed, but I don't think the player was ever actually expected to conclude "actually, Caesar should fix this," but instead acknowledge the unacceptable cost of Caesar's justice. To some degree the NCR ending can only be bittersweet, because despite the effort expended by the player and the countless lives and futures saved, you are awarded with nothing and most egregiously the NCR continues on having learned nothing, though you can be certain it will continue to inspire people like yourself to do the thankless, vital work of protecting it well into the future, and also through effort by people like yourself, its vision of true justice might eventually be realized
If you lock loose weapon mods they don't get consumed when you put them on weapons by the way. Doesn't work for legendary mods though so it's not super useful unless you want to become a supplier of enclave flamers.
k you can fully stealth mass fusion and not kill anyone i had to use like 3 stealth boys to slip past the knights but other than that i didn't need any equipment beyond a hazmat suit. its possible to sneak past all of the soldiers on the rooftop without a stealth boy also i have this recurring bug now when if i take radiation damage it translates to hp loss instead of hp reduction meaning i don't ever need to get treated for radiation damage or have any use for radiation medicine. idk how long this has been the case because mass fusion is only the second time you are required to be exposed to radiation the first being the glowing sea while contacting Virgil so anyway i think i will complete the main quest and then do the minutemen settlement things with institute equipment later idk depends on how im feeling. i have to resolve some mutiny or something first

Stella, the lady who dies at the beginning of Honest Hearts, was a Sheriff in Caliente. She got to watch two of the people from her town get butchered by the 80's. How many stories like that could've ended differently in Legion territory?We have the luxury of relative safety in the modern West. And I think that we're too quick to forget that when trying to understand the legion.

I might be the only person in this entire fandom who genuinely thinks the Institute is better than the Brotherhood of Steel or Railroad. And before you say it, I know, FO4 faction flag waving is lame compared to NV, but hear me out at least.The cut content and general ambiguity around the Toot doesn’t motivate anyone to rally behind it, especially considering Shaun being its face and weakest part. The motto summarizes the faction’s quite aptly; “Mankind, Redefined”. If you visually analyze the Fallout 4 main quest from beginning to end, without hearing any of Shaun’s dialogue in the final version, you’ll comprehend that the Institute scientists aimed to to genetically engineer the perfect compatible body, clean from and resistant to radioactivity, to transfer their minds onto instead of dying of old age, and it’s even implied that Gen 4 synths are possible. It works so well that even a robot can transfer its “mind” into a synth. This kind of technology is groundbreaking, and you can see the BoS’s motivation in having it destroyed, but it would also make the Railroad pointless. As a result? The Gen 3 synth discourse has been reduced into a hamfisted slavery analogy, and Shaun was turned into an insufferable tight-lipped buffoon. Without any of that, and fitting with Fallout’s theme of determining the future of the wasteland, it becomes quite evident that the Commonwealth is stagnant with the BoS and Railroad, but a new future is possible with either the Minutemen or Institute.In the end, I blame Emil and his dickriding of the Railroad, they’re literally just a minor faction shoehorned into a major one. The Minutemen are still the best overall faction, but if they’re not a choice, the Institute would be my go-to.

ok the meeting is unique because the major decision was already reached long before you ever arrived in the institute and the sitting director isn’t willing to accept a change, so you are offered a secondary choice between synth production and weapons development to get a taste for your future responsibilities also father was able to fully decide the course of research with FEV being one example, and then there was the cancellation of the cybernetics program, the child synth, and so on and all of these decisions were made despite dissent, the director decides everything you experience this yourself when you determine the fate of the mutinous scientists, father allows you to wield the full power of the director without interference and you are able to execute the scientists if you so wish, I don’t know what more proof you need than that, the director is judge jury and executioner
