Give me your genuine and honest opinion of fast times to kill such as in this game, ARC Raiders, etc? To me, I just can't stand it anymore. It's so boring, you either kill everyone in like .5 seconds or you get killed in .5 seconds. It's like the antithesis of fun, there's no engagement, no real challenge. You're playing, and then boom you're dead. What is fun about that? I was playing ARC Raiders and got shot in the back and killed before I could even retaliate in any sense. The only thing I was able to do was recognize "I am being killed" and then I die. It's the same thing in Marathon, EFT, etc; sometimes it's so bad you actually die in a single hit. It's interesting the first time you play a game like this, where you can lose everything. But after a dozen, hundred, etc, times, it's just boring. It's not even frustrating it just makes me question why I'm even playing? You almost have to go out of your way to NOT play the game to accomplish the tasks you've been set. Need to go to X place to do Y thing? Hope you don't get killed in less time than it takes for the human brain to even do anything :^)It really sucks. How can people enjoy this kind of time to kill? Even in something like CoD it sucks, even though you can respawn, the primary "skill" is shooting first and nothing else. Using Halo as an example is (to me) the perfect (if not at a minimum better) amount of time. You can get shot first but can 'turn it around' and get kills. You have real battles with your enemies and not bang-bang-dead gameplay.

So I’ve played 11 hours. Mostly 3 man randoms. I like the game but I really don’t find myself caring about any of the loot. The game stops any time you find a bunch of gear. All the items have a lengthy description of all the random perks and that seems unintuitive to sit and read them descriptions for five minutes if you kill a player with a full inventory. And if your objective is to the opposite side of the map and kill a guy in 4 minutes you can’t stop to engage anything else. I only save grenades, meds, shield charge, ammo. I just sell all guns and perk items. The only thing I’m starting to hesitate on is purple items but even then there’s nothing won’t sell. And there is no vault space so even if I was some incredible 1% player I wouldn’t have anywhere to put loot. Seems the only thing that makes sense is to gamble on free sponsor kit. Then you’re not risking anything and you’re not even worth looting

I’m 20 hours in now. The game’s solid, it’s a 7.5/10 if you had to out a score on it. Most other extraction shooters sit around the same score. The problem though is the loot loop. Doesnt say where you are, just the number of people within a set distance around it. When people talk about TTK, what should it be realistically for a game like this? I've always thought that games like this and others should have maybe medium TTK's and games like CoD should have shorter ones because you are going to respawn anyway. Arena shooters like quake or unreal tournament? Long TTK's. Is that accurate?

Any tips on actually getting to do PvE events for rewards? Half the time I'm trying to do something like lockdown, another team camps outside or comes in and cleans us up mid-PvE fight. Are we just supposed to do this stuff late in the match when most people exfil?

Is arc raiders actually a "Carebear" game? I don't think I am a care bear kind of player in general. I'd just like for games such is Marathon or other extraction shooters to be a mix of both I guess. It should be opportunistic and possibly cut throat. More in a "You stay the fuck over there" kind of way. However maybe both ends of the spectrum are full retard. I think the stories of whole lobbies extracting together and being buddy buddy is lame. However, people spawning in and sprinting towards known spawns looking for PvP is lame too. So which is worse? Carebear lobbies or murder hobo lobbies?
Outpost is really not as difficult PvE wise as I was expecting. It does take some learning though.
