How does that make sense.

Their real strategy was to slow the process of Switch 2 emulation, seeing as how we all knew it was coming out before Yuzu/Ryujinx got DMCA'd.

I made this post on /vr/, then realized ''general'' would fit better on vg. anyways, here it is again, maybe you can help me:

why is there no general emulation thread on /vr/? would be THE place for it no?
anyways I'm playing layton (DS) on lemuroid and was wondering what these 3 buttons marked in yellow do? I figure the bottom one puts the game on hold or something like that, but what about the other two?
ease of use is great but it is a bit too user unfriendly with some things

DS emulation works perfectly on a phone, it even has the right screen shape for it. Now if only it had proper gaming controls, but even that is only a problem for certain games.

Not sure where else to go, could someone dump Port Royal 3 DLC for 360 please?
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/port-royale-3/bqmptj2mvcqj

The one that was dumped online "harbour master" in one 200MB file is broken and keeps crashing the game whenever its activated and you enter palace with missions available.

I've tried already running game in RGH/JTAG format and in GOD format, always the same thing. Even managed to save prior to crash.

Hell I would probably buy it and dump it myself if I knew how

states pass laws all the time that get struck down by the scotus
age verification to access the internet is clearly an infringement on free speech and would (and has previously) been struck down
the onus to restrict access to legally age-restricted content is on the content provider, not the internet as a whole or device manufacturers

You have states larping like "the internet" is still some new-fangled technology with no legal status trying to ignore the fact that SCOTUS has repeatedly confirmed it as a protected free speech platform. Nah, that chip is still plenty solid for emulation. The only real downside is that it lacks AVX-512 support entirely, which mostly impacts RPCS3 on SPU-heavy games. For pretty much everything else it doesn't matter much. You aren't really losing anything meaningful.

lol I'd kill for that CPU, my puny i5-7500 can't even emulate a Pentium MMX 133 without drops on Windows 95 using 86Box. I don't even care to emulate Pentium II, an MMX 200 would do for my purposes. I was gonna build a cheapo but much more modern system and was seriously considering components when the price hikes hit, and now I'm priced out. Probably gonna look into a used system or whatever, even if it's a prebuilt.

Bro, don't sweat it, 86Box is not a fair performance benchmark right now. Even my overclocked R5 9600X struggles to hit full speed on Celeron 300 in some scenarios. The emulator still has a ton of work left on its recompiler, I/O stuff etc.
Your 7500 is plenty capable for non-MMX stuff; but I believe the drops are mostly 86Box being inefficient/unoptimized, not your CPU being weak. Stick with non MMX Pentium ~100, it'll be fine once they iron out more of the recom and disk/PIO emulation crap.

Well, the I/O stuff is a given and a known paint point, I don't like it but there's little to do about it (there's a suggestion to lower HDD drive speed, but it only helped a little). There's other places where I get bafflingly low performance, though, and it seems to be screen dependent. Even some DOS games seem to make performance buckle (try Silpheed, for instance). But yeah, it's clear it needs work on that front, though I'm not expecting a whole lot of improvement anytime soon. Anyway, that's but one reason I want a newer machine.

If you have CFW on PS3 Phat, you could get away with speeding up game logic.
Theoreotically, it's also possible to dump RAM and restore it after, but it would be slow to do so.
If you really need it, though. I'd advise you to play that game on the PS3 and use RPCS3 for everything else since patience isn't a thing for you.

Moved to newpixie standard with a few tweaks for anything up to 4th gen, and new pixie albatross for anything 5th gen and later, haven't even been able to go like anything else afterwards.

Those presets focus mostly on aesthetics, but they exaggerate the effects instead of realistically simulating the actual hardware behavior of a CRT.

Try albatross
https://redlib.catsarch.com/r/duckstation/comments/1kv0411/crtnewpixie_now_with_customization/

All I did for the normal newpixie was disabling interference, reducing curvature, and manually decreasing ghosting a bit editing the shader file, dunno anon, my really old tv series never looked as nice.
I know Guest can be way more accurate and I used to swear by it but newpixie is where is at for me these days.
You oughta give albatross a try, I use it for 2D games on PPSSPP and works really well.

that term created by a Jewish person. It originated in the 1920s as a colloquial, derogatory term used by German political opponents (including leftist parties) to mock the National Socialist party (NSDAP). It was based on "Nazi" as a nickname for Ignatz, implying a backwards, awkward person, and was used to demean the Nazis (or sometimes been used pejoratively by some, particularly during clashes between Mizrahi and Ashkenazi communities. etc)

Emubros, I have a noob question:
I’ve been emulating SEGA Naomi and Naomi 2 on Flycast (both core and standalone), and games like Initial D and Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned stutter a lot. Initial D is playable, but VF stutters badly after stage 5. I’m running this on an old gaming laptop (i7 6700HQ, GTX 970M). PCSX2 runs great at 4x resolution, it runs Dolphin at 3x resolution with area sampling and hybrid übershaders. I’m not sure if Flycast has become more accuracy-focused, but I swear it used to work fine back in November. I’m not trying anything cuh ray zee, just aiming to play at native resolution.
Is Flycast too much for my PC?

I'm planning to improve the 288p/448i mask simulation for the PS1 preset, wasn't really satisfied with the current one.
Also adding a far-view preset for each system. Just hit "Page Up" (reshade preset switch) key and you'll slowly pull back from the simulated screen (it's actually pretty easy to implement)
Still not sure whether I should add a preset for 86Box as well.

yep Ymir feels more responsive than Beetle core on RA to me, it's not a huge improvement and still not perfect response but I can notice it for sure.
However there are framedrops I don't remember getting before.. and not from the emu dropping speed, but it's emulating what I'd assume would be the real framedrops? I don't like this, they should add cpu overclocking.

Arguing about whether we're in a "police state" or not is pointless. Every society that doesn't want to collapse into anarchy or self-destruction needs some form of enforcement to keep things from turning into a free-for-all. Always has, always will. The fairy tale of pure "freedom" and "democracy" as some universal good is just 18th-century Enlightenment cope, abstract nonsense that ignores human nature and inevitably gets hijacked.
The actual problem isn't the existence of a boot on your neck; it's whose boot and why it's stomping. The entire Western world (including AUSSIE, SA, Canada, EU etc) is rotting under the liberal-globalism (aka soft-totalitarian surveillance web dressed up as "human rights" "diversity" and "progress") It's not about protecting society, it's about enforcing atomization, open borders, tranny story hour, endless third-world importation, debt slavery to globohomo corps, and punishing anyone who notices or complains. They track your every move, freeze your bank account for wrongthink, and call it "protecting democracy" while importing the very people who hate it.
Give me a hard, honest authoritarian state that actually defends its people, borders, culture, and families over this decaying, hypocritical liberal managerial regime any day. So, the question isn't "police state or not", it's whether the state serves the nation or sells it out to rootless internationalist faggotry.

Runahead isn't magic fast mode it's for deleting the specific number of internal lag frames baked into a game's code. Most vintage shit only has 1 or 2 frames of lag. If you set it to 8, you're deleting 6 frames of actual animation. You’ll press a button and your character will just teleport across the screen like a laggy mess because you've told the emulator to ignore the physics of the game. Anything over 2 frames is usually placebo (probably).
