Just like how I consider Uchikoshi’s Hiruko to represent the character more than Kodaka, because she was made for him to work with.Retsnom was not supposed to happen if Kodaka had his way. Yet her characterization is so much better and doesn’t make me hate her. It’s not just because it’s by her creator, but that’s the cherry on top that makes her KG self look like shit. I do feel bad though, that was not Kodaka’s intention. He wanted things to be hands off and his own writers to flesh out his characters and let creativity flow. But for fear of not meeting the 100 endings, he had to. And all he had, was more details on the most interesting characters and a fanservice route.
