The game really reminds me of Alchemy Stars. That game also had different gameplay from most gacha but failed to properly capitalise and made the most of it. The content cycle was pretty identical to this game (not amazing), but at the time it was a pretty big deal (for me at least) that AS had a better gacha and QoL compared to Arknights so that should have been good enough for most people. Sadly that game stagnated and eventually prioritised on creating a new mode (the dreaded garden) over adding and improving the base game. Whilst AS had a significantly better launch than this game, I'm curious to see if Yostar will repeat the exact same mistakes that AS made.AS wasn't the best but I miss it, especially the character design. The bad endings add a lot of flavor to the world and also adds a sort of consequence to the choices made. Also from the sounds of it you don't even play the game anymore.
