I reached 5.0 with both Germany and USSR, currently I like Germany far better, but I heard that USSR gets very good at higher mid-tiers (I'm not sure I'm even interested in top-tiers) and Russian air tree is allegedly better. USSR 5.0 is pure torture though, so I can't decide, please give me some advice.

The only way i see subs implemented is as AI akin to the ship convoys already present on some naval maps and planes in ARB, primarily to use depth chargers on, as this type of ordnance serves virtually no other purpose in the game.
