But Inti doesn't just replicate it, they try to innovate the formula making it much more fast paced and hardcore for speedrunners, sometimes to a fault. I finished the Kingdom Return demo. Very rough start, the base kit for all characters is really dull, but once you start unlocking more moves it gets pretty fun. Still pretty simple, but fun. Lady-knight is far and away the best character, though parrying/perfect blocking feels like it should be a basic mechanic for everybody.The city-building part kinda sucks. It's just stats from buildings. There's sidewalks and trees and shit, but doesn't seem to be any reason to use any of them and not just plant your buildings right next to your castle. And I certainly don't feel compelled to make the place look nice. There's probably more to this, there's a greyed-out option in the demo, but as-is it's extremely who-gives-a-shit. The lack of character is probably the worst part. The only real character is your fairy friend, who's extremely just there. None of the other NPCs felt like anything, and the silent protagonists don't bring much visual character. Seriously needs more work on that front, and I'm not sure it's going to get any.
