Unless you have a specific Rare rarity unit or two that you want to raise up due to favoritism or a good kit, the shop mobs will only cost you gold now while still requiring leveling them from 1 -> 30 (or 1->40 twice over) if you want them to Grade+ an Epic character. If you have about 2-3 of them in your roster to Grade+ to 1/30, then toss into your Exp Dispatch missions, that's good enough to start with.You have a good trio for working on Chapter 2-7 in the form of Feli + Asagi + Yukikaze. While maybe not ready for 2-7+9 yet, they should be able to run a 4th and begin working at 2-7+5, then inching further until you can max out stars. Are they wearing a full set of cores, at least at +3? Even just wearing plain HP cores cheaply leveled to +3 or +6 for the primary stats + set bonuses can make a huge difference early on, and Chapter 1-7+9 is still worthwhile farming to get to stronger stuff later.If you've gotten Mai from Main Story progress, or Murasaki from Journey, they are also good teammates to help ease your farming, but I imagine cores should do the bulk of heavy lifting for you here. From there, as your Feli + Asagi + Ybuta get closer to 50, you can drop 1 of them and bring in 2 other units to level while you gain cores and mobs. You can feed 1-star mobs to low level units to reach cheap level 2-5's, while the 2-star mobs can feed the few Shop mobs you get.As you get cores, you can easily go to the inventory -> core menu, then use the filter on the top right to filter: "1-4 stars, Common+Uncommon rarity" and hit the coin/gold icon to sell all of those. Then the same with "1+2 stars, Common - Epic rarity," as you shouldn't waste time/gold on those. A full inventory clean will usually net 30-50k gold on top of what you farmed, and you'll only have 3-star Rare cores to consider as upgrades before you dedicate resources to Crafting them.

For any Grade Upgrade, the unit in question needs to be at this current level cap (1-star = 10/10, 2-star = 20/20, etc) and be fed an equal amount of same star rating units (1-star needs to consume another 1-star, 2-star needs to consume 2 2-stars, etc).If you go to the Skill menu option just underneath Training there, you will be able to use character dupes to raise skill levels without worrying about current character level. This is a generally better use of character dupes, though for a character like Oomiya there, only her S1 can be leveled up, so eventually you can freely use her dupes to Grade Upgrade other 3-star units.
