I noticed when playing D1 that the AI actually had some sense of self preservation where if an enemy is out of range it will run to cover to prevent you from just hitting it with a scout rifle and if you break a wizards shield for example it will also run for cover to let its shield recharge. Nothing like that happens in D2 or Marathon.

Less than 100 weapons, no repeatable world content, energy system like every other mobile game, lack of actual customisation among other things. The gameplay is honestly pretty close though it has issues because its a mobile game. If they cut some of the useless crap out and had a solid foundation and actually released content in a similar way to the real Destiny with "expansions" or just big updates with new story content and activities I'd probably still be playing it. A lot of it though is just character grinding for no reason and maybe individual characters have their own quest but you have to play them a bunch just to actually play the full quest.I think the Wolf character should've just been fully customisable and able to use all the different relics and abilities themself. Another problem is how hard it pushes specific activities to get specific things like only playing the Nine realm stuff for artifacts which is the most mind numbingly tedious thing in the universe. I couldn't imagine going to an internal meeting and being told that as a developer who worked on Red War, Curse, Warmind and even just a bit of Forsaken, that the plan they had going forward was to remove all the stuff I had probably spent a good 4 years of my life working on. Curse was shit. D2 launch had numerous problems, Warmind wasn't great. At some point as a developer, you must at some point wonder what the point of you going through the internal shitshow was through the first 2-3 years of D2 was if they turned around to you and spat in your face. I would've fucking quit. I think anyone who was legitimately sane enough as a developer would've left at that point. Absolute disrespect from a company that claims to care so much for their employees and be all about community. Removing launch to Y2 campaigns and planets and modes and maps should've been the moment people woke up, and not enough people did.

People are dropping them because they're too demanding.I'm beating a dead horse but people WANT to like nuMarathon, they love the setting and there's even people that like the art direction. People however hate the fact that it is a PvPvE extraction shooter where the PvP more than anything is the most bullshit part of the game. If Bungie were just honest and made a statement about what realistically they do for supporting the game then I think they'd make a ton more sales.
