The scarab investment per map is like 30-40c, and you are taking out 100-150c of lifeforce each map. That is not counting any sacred blooms you find, which you do get fairly often.

It's one of the more complicated mechanics to explain from scratch and there's a 2 hour video with lengthy examples detailing how to set it up.
It's also easy to brick such that unbricking it takes several hours.

Basically.
The guys (syndicates) spawn in when jun is in the map.
You get 3 out of the 4 divisions in the map and each division has a special encounter.
Syndicates will appear and once killed, you can jail or execute each syndicate present. You can also let them go which means the board doesn't change, useful if you have the board configured the way you want.

Execute will cause them to gain rank (they are immortal) to a max of 3.
Interrogate will build safehouse intelligence proportional to their rank, but will cause their rank to fall by 1 (they hate being jailed).
This intelligence is for the division you encounter them in, not their home division, and this is important.
The rank is for their home division, unless their rank is 0, then it's for the division in which you encounter them (this is how you shuffle them around)

The aim is to jail syndicates from junk divisions to build intelligence to 100, and run the desired division safehouse while it is inhabited by rank 3 syndicates with your desired rewards.

The order in which you execute or jail is important, as the last syndicate left alive will chicken out and offer to bargain, betray, trust, or other options instead of execute. This can also happen randomly early.
Building a web of trust and rivalry from betrayals is important because this causes additional syndicates from other divisions to appear in encounters so that you can build intelligence and rank on separate divisions.

Finally, the possible selection of syndicates numbers 17, but only 14 may appear at any time on the board. If the syndicate you want the rewards of is missing you want a new syndicate, you can sometimes get the option to remove a syndicate when executing on low rank. This is how you cycle syndicates in and out.

There's a few more things to be aware of.
The transport encounter and the fortification encounter are exclusive with eachother in a map.

Encounters won't spawn if you have filled the intelligence bar and can access the associated safehouse from jun.

Read your offers carefully before making any selection, you don't have to make a choice when you click a syndicate and bring up the board. You can walk away and check each of them first.

You can be offered brick choices like swap two syndicates between divisions or remove all rivalries. These are usually bad. Think carefully before you make a choice.

To get red links (rival) you will likely need green links first (trusted), then select a betray option. This is where the league takes it's name from.
Red links can also be converted to no link, which is one way to sever a bad link. The other way is to remove a syndicate, which breaks all their links.

Why can links be bad?
The ideal board setup is 2 syndicates in 2 divisions that you wish to target farm, and then 5 junk syndicates in each of the remaining 2 junk divisions.
For example you might want to target Grav and It That Fled in Transport and Haku and Leo in Intervention.
Links should only go between divisions, never inside divisions. Links should only go from junk to target, not junk to junk or target to target.
In the example above, none of those 4 may link with eachother, they may only link to the 10 unnamed junk syndicates like Vagan or Tora if present. The junk 10 should have no links to anyone but the target 4 including Grav etc.

My final final warning, never run safes back to back. Executing in a safehouse reduces a syndicates rank to 0. In the 2/5/5/2 setup this is fine as they zip back into their original division, as 5 is the limit and the leader needs 1 syndicate with them.
If you run the 2 syndicate safes back to back the zip can cross over.
In the above example, Haku and Grav might swap. Swapping them back is hard, avoid having to do it.

Is delve even worth it this league? Fossil prices have skyrocketed, but primitive resonators have been at 1/2 a chaos all league. Maybe I'm not at a depth yet to make it profitable because I'm only at depth 250, but it seems like I'm extremely poor.

By the way Harvest beasts can spawn anywhere now. It just sucks that beasts don't show up in mirage so you have no reason to do the league mechanic.

Depthlet spotted. 600 is minimum for decent profit in the mines. This league is also an offshoot league because the money is in fossils so if you're not going on every side path you're fucking up. Also learn which nodes are which. Tangleds are shit, but abyssal depths prints you a free div on every single fossil node.
