If we die early again, I probably won't revive this general again until either certain mods gets updated or until March 17th, assuming we actually get news on that day.
>Thread dies>Go to /v/ and highjack a Starfield troll thread>Get chased out of /v/>Make a new thread>Thread dies
Greg Miller of Kinda Funny was shown some Starfield stuff behind the scenes recently and will have news to share about it soon.https://bsky.app/profile/gameovergreggy.bsky.social/post/3mgv4io2sfc2f
>>560159132
>>560156953thank you for your service
Genuine question here. Where else does the community typically hang out?
>>560163567I myself lurk the Starfield subreddits for news, though I don't know where anyone here goes, god forbid anyone tries to drum up any discussions around the shithole that is Steam Community. I might make a thread on /vrpg/ next time since inactive threads last much longer compared to here.
>>560159132>>560159447we're going to have plenty of shit to talk about in two weeks
>>560164150Of course, what I'm most worried about is whether our regulars will even know where to find us if we do go quiet around here and move somewhere else since some only pop up every now and then. That's part of the reason I even revived this topic again this early since you might have some anons like SF Anon who might want to share updates on his upcoming follower mod.
dentonjcatnexus managed to get the papyrus scripts working, now he's just trying to find out how to resolve the animation glitches.
>>560159447i'm exited for what this major update they had in the works. and i also hope the dlc expands on the story post starborn.
How desperate your mother got to be to find something good in you that you be resurrecting this dead ass thread?
>>560163567I just check /stag and /r/starfield daily. I unsinstalled the game long ago
Welp, Nexus is acting up again
>>560164150>god forbid anyone tries to drum up any discussions around the shithole that is Steam Community. It unfortunate since that would probably be the optimal spot. It's perfect for sharing in-game screenshots and videos so it's perfect for Starfield. To answer the question, I'm mostly on X ever since /stag/ started slowing down. Also, it's hard for me to contribute much anymore since there's so much going on in my life right now that spending time on games has become less of a thing for a while. I've not had as much time to make clips or post screens anymore, but I still love seeing what others have going on.
>>560159447Juicehead has also be shown some stuff
A bump before I go to sleep
>>560189998Umm that bumb was in my trousers...
>>560156776oh hey, /stag/ came back from the dead
>>560156953March 17th? That's not two weeks!
Insider here, GE release today (Miel fix just dropped)
>>560210145We're definitely about to receive some news very soon, especially since a new batch of people are now revealing that they got invited to see some stuff behind the scenes, Renfail in particular
https://www.rpgsite.net/interview/19777-inon-zur-interview-starfield-new-music-fallout-4-main-theme-rise-of-the-ronin-todd-howardStarfield will become legendary according to Inon Zor
>>560214232>Renfail in particularI saw that just a few minutes ago on X. I hope "soon" really does mean soon this time. I know about the supposed March 17th embargo lift, but it'd be nice to have something before then too. I'd take even a shadow drop trailer sometime today, give everyone a chance to stew on it and they having the "I played the update" reports next week. It won't happen that way, but I wish it did.
>>560220086>RPG Site: Speaking of Todd Howard, how has it been working with him for so many years?>Inon Zur: Todd is one, if not the most creative and invigorating human beings in the industry. He just doesn't stop. He always has new ideas. He always knows what he wants. He is very persuasive and has a very strong character. He will also find ways to describe what he wants without really calling it a name. He knows how to allow freedom of creativity on one hand, but also how to steer it to his own vision. He is a visionary. He sees things that people will start to find out years later.>This also applies to Starfield. When Starfield released, I believe people were just not ready for it. It's a different way of looking at it, but Todd is really strong, and he said very, very lightly, "Look, if you don't like it, then you don't like it, but this is the new thing that we're doing, and we're sticking to it." He believes in his way, and it just has proven time and time again that eventually people will understand his vision. It just takes time and this is a common thing for all the big visionaries. Sometimes people really don't understand them correctly, but they were strong enough to stay on course, and Todd will stay on course on Starfield. Starfield will eventually become something that will be legendary. I have no doubt. It's just a matter of time.
>>560220086>I started working in TV composing lots of kids and young adult programming, action oriented shows like the Power Rangers, Beetleborgs, The Vision of Escaflowne, and many more.God I'm old. No telling how many anons here even remembers Beetleborgs in particular.
>Test your mods>How did this get past Bethesda?>Bethesda! How did you let this happen? How long before CrimsonGayboy figures out that Bethesda doesn't care? He's been at this for about a year now but still seems to think theres any kind of standard to what gets monetized. I assume if anyone confirmed it, he wouldn't have his favorite catchphrases to fall back on.
>>560222463He has some paid mod authors telling him its not a scam, they are literally shilling their mods on his discord server, also he has admitted he doesn't really know a bunch of shit, he has some idea okñb how mods are made but can't see that most of them are a few hours on the ck, or downloading a gun on sketchfab and use it for a paid mod
>>560222463To be fair, I'm not too mad at him. He doesn't really care for a lot of games outside of Halo, Skyrim, Fallout and the few indie games that might catch his eye, but he's useful in that he voices how the majority of people feel about waiting for updates and how they may feel after paying money for certain mods. He's close to a "boo because I want to cheer" guy and, for that, I respect what he does. I do think the whole thing about "Bethesda needs to regulate" needs to stop though, but his lack of knowledge on "how things work" with how mods are made and all that are representative of how 99% of people will experience these mods. He's basically the "I'm a gamer because I played Skyrim and Halo" guy which represents much more than people like us.That said, I've been getting spotty when it comes to watching his streams. He gets distracted way too easily in that you say something in the chat, he'll read the comment, and then he's partially comment on it before getting completely off track 2 seconds after something happens on screen and then never going back to finish his though. Even if what happened on screen was nothing. Also, the last time I stopped by he was going on a rant about "stop saying 'gay' like it's an insult" with the "it's [current year]" argument. He had another thing like that in a couple of other streams too not JUST about that in specific, but I've just fallen off of the streams.
>>560225375I like to have mods reviews, especially if they look decent but I have reservations. But his videos are fucking annoying. He never seems prepared to hit Record, having to stop everything to go find out information he should already have or should already know. He makes basic mistakes in his understanding of "How things work". He's always so quick to attack a mod for not being "mod friendly" as if that was ever a hard requirement for mods, or as if Starfield itself even has any lore to adhere to. Like I know a review is patently 'his opinion' but when he starts trashing a mod for not being mod-friendly, it just pisses me off. And when he goes on about "Test your mods" and "Why don't bethesda do anything" as if there is literally any oversight. Which, sure, how could he know? But its been long enough, you think he would know what to expect now. He just likes to complain that mods aren't up to his unecessary standard, like a hallway monitor with an overinflated sense of self. I really should unsubscribe but he's literally the only one who reviews new stuff.

Renfail talking about his experience at a Starfield eventhttps://www.reddit.com/r/NoSodiumStarfield/comments/1rsphva/so_yeah_probably_around_march_17_starfield/
>>560227254From what I can tell, the issue is that he's primarily an Xbox console gamer, not a PC gamer. I don't mean that in a sense that PC is better than console, but rather it's because all of the mods he does are from the Creation store. As a result, because they aren't from Nexus or other places to get mods, the idea is that all of the mods should be able to work together since they are on the official Creations store. When you're used how mods usually work and you've been playing with them for so long outside of a dedicated "official" storefront that houses them, you don't expect mods to be "mod-friendly" or whatever he calls it. I think that's what other people are going to also think when they try to use mods and they are all specifically from the Creations store. Especially when Starfield comes to PlayStation an they try the Creation store themselves. Also I realize how I sound, so I'll let you know that I'm not Crimson. I also haven't watched his mod videos much because I just can't get into the video reviews. There's a smaller channel called "Madd Rads" that does Starfield mod stuff sometimes and he really doesn't get enough views for it considering you can tell he's just doing this for the fun of it (you can tell he doesn't have a script or a lot of structure, but he's good). Also, I've been watching this other guy called "Swurv" for his live streams even though he streams late. I don't comment on his streams and I want to keep it that way, but at least he's nice to have on in the background.
>>560234256He doesn't know about mod conflicts or what is exactly going on when a mod is broken on his end, but bgs should 100% test what they are putting as paid mods and remove people just doing cashgrabs, free mods don't matter in this case
>>560234256That whole first paragraph? Yes, absolutely. All true. What annoys me is that he hasn't figured this all out yet. He gets so close anytime he wonders if Bethesda even vet their mods or pay attention to whats being uploaded. No, they don't. Thats why they have the verification program, so they don't have to. But its like his memory gets wiped after every video because in the very next one he's pleading with Bethesda to monitor the mods and for mod creators to not cashgrab as if that's not what the entire platform is for. Fucking irritates me.But thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully I can leave CrimsonGayboy behind.
>>560235225I once entered his discord channel and paid mods authors are there, so he get those sweet freebies to keep him silent
>>560235408As if he'd know what he was talkinga bout
Preorders for a Starfield PS5 version is now being listed on a Portuguese retail sitehttps://www.gamingreplay.com/pt/pre-reservas-ps5/32757-starfield-ps5-196388613724.html
>>560236121that nigger even said that he didn't knew who was the dev in one of the ex Bgs devs interviews (Kurt Kuhlmann) and probably was one of the people that got fired LMAO, all of this because he talked about some things that he didn't like and others that had him worried
>>560156776I might give this game another shot now that it has been a few years, any good overhaul mods? Also any mods that disable the horrible main story?
>>560243949no, only overhaul is that start war conversion
>>560244543After all this time all Starfield got is some Star Wars slop overhaul shit? Nothing themed after the Expanse or something else?
>>560244972Well there's a big Star Trek mod too. I think someone was also working on something Dune related, though I don't know what became of thathttps://www.nexusmods.com/starfield/mods/15129

Since it seems like we might be getting update pretty soon, I hope that doesn't break SAF too much
I hope the update introduces poop mechanics...
>>560264976There's already a mod for that
Next week, now confirmed by official BGS Twatter

it is actually happening

Insider here. GE imminent
>>560220480i wish i had anyone who believes in me as much as inon zur believes in todd
>>560267971to be fair everyone who's met Todd loves him, even the internet cant stop talking about him
>>560244972only star wars autists are willing to go through the pain and humiliation that is mod developmentthe kicker is the star wars mod story is even worse than the actual game's mai nstory
>>560266354It's actually real. /stag/ died and came back maybe 3 or 4 times, but those of us who are still here, we're almost there.
>>560271408we're all going to make it
>>560271408Hopefully this general gets populated again
>>560271408Hope the changes address starfield's core issues
>>560272182To a degree. As long as we're getting screenshot posting again I think we'll be good. 70% of the reason why I even have X is because I follow the Bethesda X account there and I refuse to use Reddit or Discord. /stag/ was my second destination.I fell off of coming to /v/ or /v/'s branch boards in general after I came to the realization that I'm not as much into games like I used to be. Starfield is pretty much the only game that came out this entire generation of PS5/Xbox Series/PC that I still have any desire to play even with everyone talking about Crimson Desert right now. I stopped coming to /stag/ because I stopped coming to /vg/ as a whole. Also because there weren't as many screenshots or text based "role playing scenario" stories or back stories people made up here after a while. All that to say that I do hope it picks back up here, so long as the activity is good.
>>560272182Impossible without waifu posting
>>560268448>the kicker is the star wars mod story is even worse than the actual game's main storyThey would literally have to make an effort for it to be worse, the average fanfic writer can make a better story than what Bethesda wrote for Starfield.
>>560281714nope
>>560281714they really can't unfortunately. you realize this when you play most mods and actually pay attention to the writing. even the praised stories are almost universally dogshit
>>560272894What are the core issues you expect them to address? Story is likely out of the question, and we'll likely only see a reduction in loading screens, not the complete removal of them.
>>560272894Todd said it won't but seeing as he's aware of the liar memes maybe he means it will.
