Woke up too late today because I went to bed too late. Extra caffeine will lend me some chemical functionality (to be paid back with interest later) but I really should be getting more sleep. I'm at barely 6 hours a night now. Decided to stop eating sweets more often than once a week, but I need to ease into it, so bananas are like halfway between sweets and fruits.
Added upgrades yesterday along with a basic upgrade UI. I could do it quickly because beforehand I put in effort in defining the component system, so it all came together like a dream.
I don't know what I'll be working on today. Steam emailed me about some tax information, so I'll review that first and then we'll see. Probably UI but anything other than physics will be fine.
174 days left. At most. I still owe my game 1000 minutes of work.

The isometric "over world" doesn't jive with the 2d battle screen at all and I don't believe it's the best way to handle traveling for your game.
It's isometric but only tight corridors, as you're in a dungeon. Assuming you allow backtracking, you can only have a maximum of 4 directions to move in and since you are limited to corridors it's not like you're avoiding conflict by sneaking around someone.
Isometric perspectives are kino, of course, but in this particular case I don't think you should use one.

In cold locations I have a comulative debuff Freezing, which makes you move slowly, at high % it starts to damage your hp and on top values you have a chance of short immobilization.

However my main thought would be increased fatigue or stamina consumption. I don't know if your game has that though.

A different approach that's analog to the freezing would be: high bursts of activity can cause overheating. The player isn't "slowed down" but he has to deliberately move slower, if he moves around too fast in too short of a period, he has to stop to recover his breath.

I'm almost done programming the node system. Its a graph consisting of a collection of independent trees. All of it is stored in the ECS array. Its is sorted via depth-first searches. Because of this, when you find global transforms (by concatenating the global transform of the parent with the local transform of the child) you need not traverse a tree, instead you just iterate through an array and traverse up once for each node with a parent.

From what I've read apparently some engines like Unity do something in the ballpark of what I'm doing. Some engines seem to do fancier things though.

I won't be able to show the node system at work though until I get the camera and mesh system working. Bleh.

This is not true at all. I went to culinary school, worked at a michelin star restaurant, and currently work part time at a private catering company.
You may focus on one thing at your career, sure, but most professionally trained chefs are highly skilled in at least 3 or 4 areas of expertise.
